SPLENDID Bi2 Wall TR Inverter Fan Coil

WARNINGS

  1. The appliance may be used by children over 8 years of age and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, or without the required experience or knowledge, provided they are supervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the appliance and understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the equipment.

  2. Children must not be allowed to clean the appliance or perform user maintenance without proper supervision.

  3. Installation, first start-up and the subsequent maintenance phases, except for cleaning or washing of the ambient air filter, must be carried out exclusively by authorized and qualified personnel.
    In any case, since they are incorporated inside the system, conformity of the fan radiators / fan coils in a specific system shall be verified and ensured by the installer in compliance with the applicable laws and rules.

  4. If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or by its technical support service or by similarly qualified personnel, to prevent any risk to the user.

  5. To prevent any electrocution risk, it is essential to disconnect power supply before carrying out any maintenance operation on the appliance.

  6. For correct operation of the appliance, respect the minimum distances and the indications in this manual (see figure 2).

0.3 – GENERAL WARNINGS
WHEN USING ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT, BASIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS MUST ALWAYS BE FOLLOWED IN ORDER TO REDUCE RISKS OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCKS AND INJURY, INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING:

    Our machines are subject to change and some parts may appear different from the ones shown here,without this affecting the text of the manual in any way.

    During installation of the unit, it is necessary to ensure that the rear area of the appliance cannot be accessed.

  8. During installation and maintenance, respect the precautions indicated in the manual, and on the labels applied inside the units, as well as all the precautions suggested by good sense and by the safety regulations in effect in your country.

  9. In case of replacement of parts, use only original OLIMPIA SPLENDID parts.

  10. Do not disconnect power supply during operation. Risk of fire or electric shock.

  11. Before electrically connecting the appliance, make sure that the label data correspond to those of the electricity distribution network.  The power socket must be equipped with ground connection.

  12. Install the appliance according to the instructions of the manufacturer. A wrong installation may cause damages to people, animals or things for which the manufacturer cannot be held liable.

  13. Installation of the plug must be carried out by professionally qualified personnel, who shall ensure that the section of the cables of the socket is suitable for the power absorbed by the appliance. In general, it is not advised to use adapters and/or extension cables; if their use becomes essential, they must comply with the safety standards and their current carrying capacity (A) must not be lower than the maximum one of the appliance.

  14. Do not use the appliance:
    – with wet or moist hands;
    – barefoot.

  15. Do not pull the power cord or the appliance itself to disconnect the plug from power supply.

  16. Do not handle power supply with wet hands.

  17. Do not bend excessively, twist, pull or damage the power cord.

  18. In no way obstruct the air intake and outlet grilles.

  19. Do not insert foreign objects in the air intake and outlet grilles since there is the risk of electric shock, fire or damages to the appliance.

  20. In case water leakages, set the main switch of the system to “OFF” and close the water valves. Call, as soon as possible, the Technical Assistance Service of OLIMPIA SPLENDID or professionally qualified personnel and do not intervene personally on the appliance.

  21. Disassembly, repair or reconversion by an unauthorized person may cause serious damages and will nullify the warranty of the manufacturer.

  22. Do not use the appliance in case of failure or bad operation, if power supply is damaged, or if the appliance has been dropped or damaged in any way. Switch off th eappliance,disconnect the power supply and have it checked by professionally qualified personnel.

  23. Do not disassemble nor modify the appliance.

  24. Repairing the appliance by yourself is extremely dangerous.

  25. A temperature too low or too high, depending on the modes of operation, is harmful to health and constitutes an useless waste of energy. Avoid direct contact with the air flow for a prolonged period.  Avoid that the room remains closed for a prolonged period.  Periodically open the windows to ensure correct air recirculation.

  26. Any cleaning operation is prohibited if the appliance has not been disconnected from the electricity distribution network by setting the main power switch to “OFF”.

  27. It is prohibited to change the safety or adjustment devices without authorization or indications of the appliance manufacturer.

  28. It is prohibited to step on the appliance and/or to place any type of object on it.

  29. The appliance can reach temperatures higher than 70°C on the external components.  PAY PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO CONTACT, DANGER OF BURNS.

  30. OLIMPIA SPLENDID’s fan radiators/fan coils are compliant with the  European Directives:
    •  Low voltage directive 2014/35/EU
    •  Electromagnetic compatibility directive 2014/30/EU.
    •  RoHS directive 2011/65/EC.

 In any case, since they are incorporated inside the system, conformity of the fan radiators / fan coils in a specific system shall be verified and ensured by the installer in compliance with the applicable laws and rules.

0.4 – INTENDED USE

  • These appliance have been built for conditioning and/or heating of rooms and shall be destined for this use compatibly with their performance characteristics.
  • This appliance is only destined for domestic use or similar.
  • An improper use of the appliance with possible damages caused to people, property or animals relieves OLIMPIA SPLENDID from any liability.

APPLIANCE DESCRIPTION (Fig.1)

The fan coils of the Bi2 Wall series are designed for wall installation on top, with air outlet facing downwards, or wall installation on the bottom, with air outlet facing upwards. The machine is therefore equipped with 2 condensation collection trays with their respective drains which shall be connected to another drain depending on the type of chosen installation.

  1. Bearing structure
    made of high-resistance electrogalvanized steel sheet.

  2. Heat exchange battery
    made of copper pipes and aluminium pack lugs. Threaded coupling of the type eurokonus 3/4, compliant with the new community standardization needs. The battery is equipped with a sensor for detection of water temperature.

  3. Electronic control cabinet

  4. Ventilating unit
    including tangential fan made of synthetic material with staggered lugs (high noiselessness) mounted on anti-vibrating EPDM supports, statically and dynamically balanced, keyed directly on the motor shaft.

  5. DC low-consumption brushless electric motor
    with resinated pack mounted on EPDM anti-vibrating supports.

  6. Delivery air deviation flap

  7. Condensation collection tray for high installation
    made of ABS, easy to dismount for cleaning operations.

  8. Condensation collection tray for low installation
    made of ABS, easy to dismount for cleaning operations.

INSTALLATION

2.1 – UNIT POSITIONING

Avoid installing the unit:

– in positions subject to direct exposition to sun rays;

– next to sources of heat;

– in humid environments and zones with probable contact with water;

– in environments with oil vapours

WARNING

 A failure to apply the indicated standards, which may cause malfunctioning of the equipment, relieves the company OLIMPIA SPLENDID from any form of warranty and from possible damages caused to people, animals or property.

Make sure that:

a. The wall on which it is desired to install the unit has a suitable structure and capacity;

b. The involved zone of the wall is not travelled by pipelines or power lines;

c. The involved wall is perfectly flat;

d. There is an area free from obstacles which may hinder inlet and outlet air circulation;

e. The wall for installationis, possibly,anexternal perimeter wall in order to allow for drainage of condensation to the exterior. If it is not possible, please envisage a suitable drainage line for condensation.

f. In case of high installation, the air flow is not targeted directly against people.

g. The appliance must be installed in such a position as to allow for easy ordinary and extraordinary maintenance,as wel las for easy access to the air breather valves which can be reached from the upper grille of the connections side.

2.2 – OPENING THE UNIT (Fig.3)
a. Delicately rotate the air outlet flaps 90°.
b. Undo the fixing screws (a) highlighted in the figure.
c. Make the front panel tilt slightly and then lift it to release it from the hooks (b) highlighted in the figure.
d. Disconnect the command display-board connector.
2.3 – UNIT INSTALLATION
a. Use the template in the packaging (to be cut along the indicated lines) and mark on the wall the position of the two fixing brackets.
Refer to figure 4a for high wall installation.
Refer to figure 4b for low wall installation.

b. Drill using an appropriate bit and insert the dowels (T), 2 for each bracket.
c. Secure the two brackets (S) (fig. 5). Do not tighten the screws excessively, so as to be able to adjust the brackets using a bubble level (fig. 6).
d. Definitively lock the two brackets (S) by tightening the four screws completely.
e. Ensure their stability by manually moving the brackets rightwards and leftwards, up and down.
f. Mount the unit checking correct hooking on the brackets and its stability (fig. 7).
g. To configure display visualization correctly, please refer to paragraph “3.12.e Display rotation”.

2.4 – WATER CONNECTIONS
2.4.a – Pipelines diameter
The minimum internal diameter which must be respected for the pipelines of the water connections varies
depending on the model:
SLW 400 -> ø14 mm
SLW 600 -> ø16 mm
SLW 800 -> ø18 mm

For the position of the pipelines and of the connections, please refer to the version you have purchased (2-way or 3-way valve) and to the type of installation (high or low wall).

2.4.b – Connections
The choice and dimensioning of the water lines are responsibility of the designer who must operate in accordance with good practice regulations and laws in force.
To perform the connections (fig.8):
a. Position the water lines.
b. Tighten the connections using the method “wrench against wrench”.
c. Check for possible loss of liquid.
d. Coat the connections with insulating material.

  • The water lines and the junctions must be thermally insulated
  • Avoid partial insulations of the pipelines.
  • Avoid tightening excessively not to damage insulation.

Use hemp and green paste for water tightness of the threaded connections; the use of Teflon tape is advised in the presence of antifreeze liquid in the water circuit.

2.5 – CONDENSATION DRAIN

The condensation drain network must be opportunely dimensioned (minimum internal diameter of the pipe must be 16 mm) and the pipeline must be positioned so as to always maintain a specific incline along the route, never lower than 1%. The drain pipe directly connects to one of the two drainage basins, positioned down on the side shoulder, under the water connections in function of the type of installation: high wall or console.
– If possible, make condensation liquid flow out directly in a gutter or in a “white water” drain.
– In case of drainage in the sewerage system, it is advised to create a siphon to prevent the perception of bad smells towards the rooms. The curve of the siphon must be lower than the condensation collection basin.
– If condensation must be drained inside a container, the latter must remain open to the atmosphere and the pipe must not be immersed in water, avoiding problems of adhesiveness and counter pressures whih would hinder free outflow.
– If a difference in level which would hinder condensation outflow must be overcome, it is necessary to install a pump (accessory kit).
– In any case, please consult the specific instructions in the condensation disposal pump kit.

It is still opportune, at the end of installation, to check for correct outflow of condensation liquid by pouring water in the collection basin very slowly (approximately 1/2 l of water over approximately 5-10 minutes).

2.5.a – High installation condensation drainage device assembly (fig.9)
a. Connect a pipe (16) for liquid outflow to the drainage junction of the condensation collection basin (15).
b. Lock it adequately.
c. Check that the drip edge extension (17) is present and installed correctly.
2.5.b – Low installation condensation drainage device assembly (fig.10)
a. Connect a pipe (19) for liquid outflow to the drainage junction of the condensation collection basin (18).
b. Lock it adequately.
c. Check that the drip edge extension (20) is present and installed correctly.

  • Make sure the machine is perfectly levelled once installed, or with a slight inclination towards the direction of the condensation drain;
  • Insulate the delivery and return pipes well up to the entrance of the machine, so as to prevent condensation dripping out of the collection basin itself;
  • Insulate the condensation drain pipe of the basin for its whole length.

2.6 – HOLDER ADJUSTMENT (Fig.11)
The holders supplied together with the hydraulic kits allow for an adjustment able to balance the load losses of the system. For correct adjustment and balancing of the circuit it is necessary to follow the following procedure::
a. Use a screwdriver to unscrew and extract the grub screw with slot located inside the hexagonal socket.
b. Close the adjustment screw using a 5 mm Allen wrench (4a).
c. Screw the grub screw with slot until end of travel. Then mark the reference point for adjustment (4b) with a “x”.
d. Align the screwdriver to the “x”.
e. Open with a number of rotations according to the diagram ∆p-Q (4c).

The number of rotations refers to the micrometric grub screw..
f. Open the screw until end of travel (4d).
The pre-adjustment has been set and won’t change in case of repeated opening and closure with the Allen wrench.

2.7 – UNIT WITH 2-WAY VALVE WITH THERMOELECTRIC HEAD (Fig.12)
The unit is composed of an automatic valve with thermoelectric head and of a holder equipped with micrometric adjustment able to balance the load losses of the system. Inside the unit are present the insulating
materials to be mounted on the valve and on the holder.
2.8 – UNIT WITH 3-WAY DIVERTER VALVE WITH THERMOELECTRIC HEAD (Fig.13)
The unit is composed of a 3-way diverter valve with thermoelectric head and of a holder equipped with micrometric adjustment able to balance the load losses of the system. Inside the unit are present the insulating materials to be mounted on the valve and on the holder.
2.9 – FILLING THE SYSTEM
During start-up of the system, make sure that the holder on the water system is open. In the case of absence of power supply and the thermal valve has already been powered previously, it will be necessary to use the specific hood to press the valve disc to open it.
2.10 – AIR EVACUATION DURING FILLING OF THE SYSTEM
a. Open all the interception devices of the system (manual or automatic);
b. Start filling by slowly opening the system water loading valve;
c. Work using a screwdriver on the uppermost battery breather (28) (fig.14).
d. When water starts coming out from the breather valves of the appliance, close them and keep loading until the nominal values envisaged for the system.

Check for water tightness of the seals.
It is advised to repeat this operation after that the appliance has worked for a few hours and to periodically check the system pressure.
2.11 – ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
Before carrying out any electrical connection, make sure that power supply is disconnected by the units and that the systems to which the equipment must connect are compliant with the current standards. In case you want to proceed with installation without plug, proceed as described below:
– Use a cable with a minimum section of 3G 0,75
– Use a ground cable at least 20 mm longer than the active wires.
– Connect the ground connection wires to the corresponding terminal.
– Pull the wires to make sure they are connected correctly, then stop them with the specific cable tie.
For correct dimensioning of the guards, please refer to voltage and current consumption indicated on the label located on the unit.

To access the board, remove the screws (31a) and the panel (31b) of the terminal box (31) (Fig.16).
The appliance connection MUST respect the European and national standards and MUST be protected by a 30 mA differential switch.
Connection to the mains supply can be carried out with fixed connection or with mobile plug and MUST be equipped with an omnipolar switch compliant with the current IEC EN standards, with a contact opening of at least 3mm (better if equipped with fuses).
Correct connection to the ground system is essential to ensure safety of the appliance.

2.11.a – Configuration
The printed circuit board must be configured depending on the type of installation and based on particular operating preferences of the machine.
The three selectors J1, J2 and J3 indicated in fig. 15 must be set as described in the next page:
J1. ON: in night mode, heating works in natural convection and irradiation mode only, without ventilation; In all the other cases of heating, ventilation switches off approximately 1°C before reaching the desired temperature and continues in irradiation and natural convection only up to the desired temperature.
J1. OFF: for appliances without radiant panel: heating occurs always through forced convection, with activation active also in night mode (at reduced speed).
J2. ON: in cooling mode, the fan remains powered even upon reach the desired ambient temperature.
J2. OFF: in cooling mode, the fan id deactivated upon reaching the set temperature.
J3. ON: for appliances to be installed in 2-pipes systems: the board is set for management of a single  water valve for summer (cooling) and winter (heating) operation.
J3. OFF: for appliances to be installed in 4-pipes systems: the board is set for management of two water valves, one for summer (cooling) operation and one for winter (heating) operation.

The three selectors can be positioned in all the possible combinations since the respective functions are independent from each other.
At each reactivation, the display shows the code corresponding to the setting of the internal selectors for 5 seconds:

2.11.b – Presence contact input
To terminals “A” and “B” (fig. 15) it is possible to connect a free contact, not live, of a possible presence sensor (not supplied) which, when closed, causes the deactivation of the appliance (factory setting stand-by).
It is possible, in factory or an authorized assistance centre upon prior request of the customer, to change this function so that the selected ambient temperature is automatically increased (in cooling mode) or decreased (in heating mode) by a specific value “Economy Function” when the contact is closed.
To use this function, check that the terminals “A” and “B” are connected to the connector “X8”.

It is not possible to connect the parallel input the one of other circuit boards; use separate contacts.

To connect the presence sensor, it is necessary to use a double-insulated cable with a minimum section of 2×0,5 mm2 and maximum length of 20 m. Keep this connection separated from the power supply line of the appliance.

2.11.c – Terminal box positioning

a. Screw the terminal box (31) to the bracket (32) using the screws (32a) (fig.17).
b. Position the bracket (32) complete of the terminal box (31) on the appliance side in correspondence of the assembly holes.
c. Screw the bracket (32) to the appliance using the screws (32b) (fig. 17).
d. Connect the ground cable to the appliance structure using the supplied screw (x) and the washer (y) (minimum force for screwing is 4 N) (fig. 18).
e. Remount the cover (31b) of the box (31) and tighten the screws (31a) (fig.19).
f. Remount the sides of the appliance as described in the previous paragraph.
Once the operations are complete, reposition the front panel taking care to connect the display connector.
Secure the front panel by means of the screws, then power the machine.
When the unit is configured for remote control, the remote controller is disabled.
– It is not possible to control the flap from remote control.
– In this mode, the air probe installed on board the fan coil is ignored.
2.12 -CONNECTION WITH WIRED REMOTE CONTROL B0736 OR THIRD PAR- TIES MODBUS
– Set the connector on connection “X8” on the connector “X7”.
The presence contact will be managed by the wall control BO736.
– Connect the cables coming from the connection “A B” of the control B0736 with the connector “A B” of the control, taking care to respect the polarity, ending the farthest unit with the supplied 120 Ohm heating element.
– Enable Remote configuration (paragraph “3.4”, configuration parameter “CF”).
– All the commands shall be disabled and the message “rE” will appear on the display every time they are activated.
– The indicator shows the chosen mode of operation, the indicators “ ”, “, “ ” and “ and the set fan speeds.
– As regards the functionalities and settings, see the instructions of command B0736.
2.13 – CONNECTION WITH SIOS CONTROL
– Set the connector located on connection “X8” on the connector “X7”.
The presence contact is not available anymore.
– Connect the cables coming from connection “A B” of SIOS CONTROL with the connector “A B” of the control, taking care to respect the polarity, ending the farthest unit with the supplied 120 Ohm heating element.
– Enable Autonomous configuration (paragraph “3.4”, configuration parameter “CF”).
– Set the protocol type ASCII if SIOS CONTROL envisages B0863 or RTU if SIOS CONTROL does not envisage B0863 (paragraph “3.4”, configuration parameter “bU”).
– Set the address, each appliance must have an address different from all the other units connected to the same BUS (paragraph “3.4”, configuration parameter “Ad”).
– As regards mounting of the connections, proceed by following the indications described in the previous paragraphs.

USE OF THE APPLIANCE

The control makes ambient temperature adjustment completely independent thanks to the programs AUTO, SILENT, NIGHT and MAX by means of a probe positioned in the lower part of the fan radiator/fan coil and ensures an antifreeze safety even when it is set to stand-by.

2 3.3 – USE OF THE REMOTE CONTROLLER
The remote controller supplied with the appliance has been designed so as to grant it maximum robustness and exceptional functionality, but it still needs to be handled with care.
Avoid:

  • leaving it exposed to rain, pouring liquids on its keyboard or dropping it in water;
  • making it undergo excessive shocks or dropping it on hard surfaces,
  • leaving it exposed to sun rays,
  • interposing obstacles between the remote controller and the appliance while the remote controller is being used.

Additionally:

  • if other appliances equipped with remote controller (TV, radio, stereo units, etc.) are used in the same room, some interferences may occur;
  • electronic and fluorescent lamps may interfere with the communications between the remote controller and the appliance,
  • extract the batteries in case of prolonged inactivity of the remote controller.

3.3.a – Inserting the batteries

Tocorrectlyinsertthebatteries:

a. Remove the cover of the battery compartment (Fig.20).

b. Insert the batteries in the specific compartment (Fig.20).

Scrupulously respect the polarities indicated on the bottom of the battery compartment.

c. Correctly close the cover (Fig.20).
3.3.b – Replacing the batteries
Always use new batteries.
The use of old batteries or of batteries of a different type may generate a malfunction of the remote controller.
– The remote controller uses two 1,5V dry-cell alkaline batteries (AAA type) (Fig.20).

3.4 – BOARD CONFIGURATION
Work as follows:
a. Connect power supply, then ensure that the latter is set to any mode except for stand-by.
b. On the control panel, simultaneously press the key “ ” (T2) and “ ” (T1) for at least 5 seconds, until an acoustic signal is emitted.
c. The display shows the reference to the parameter
d. Scroll using the key “ ” or “ ” (T1) until you select the desired parameter
e. Press the key “  ” or “ ” (T1) to scroll the list of parameters: CF -> bU -> Ad -> Fa -> Po -> co -> CF -> …
f. Press key “ ” (T2) to access the value
g. Release and press key “ ” (T2) for more than 3 seconds to change the value (Display blinking)
h. Press key “ ” or “ ” (T2) to scroll the possible values of the parameters
i. Press key “ ” (T3) to confirm the value
j. Press key “ ” (T3) to exit the configuration or wait 20 seconds.
Quit and give power voltage to the system to start the unit under the new configuration.

Ad – Unit Address:
In the event of need, it is possible to change the unit address.

Co – temperature compensation:
If the particular installation of the unit requires it, it is possible to add compensation on the reading of ambient temperature from -5°C to +5°C active in any mode, except for automatic mode.
If the unit has a roof configuration, the unit has a default compensation of -3°C which can be changed by the installer

3.5 – USE OF THE APPLIANCE

3.5.a – Appliance switching on/off
In the event that a main switch has been installed on the power line, it must be switched on.
a. To switch on/off the fan coil/fan radiator, press key «Gan (T2) for 2 seconds.
b. The appliance can be switched on or off by pressing key “B1” on the remote controller.
All the timers are reset when the appliance is switched off.
The absence of any light signal identifies the ‘stand-by’ status, absence of function.
When the control is set to this mode of operation, it ensures safety against freezing. In the event that ambient temperature drops below 5°C, the hot water solenoid valve and the fan motor at minimum speed are activated, the display shows code “AF”.
3.6 – AUTOMATIC COOLING /HEATING MODE
Setting this type of adjustment allows the control to automatically carry out the selection of cooling or heating mode, based on the difference between temperature set by the user and ambient temperature.
a. To activate/deactivate this function, keep the cooling/heating selection key “B1” pressed for 10 seconds  until the blue and red symbols (A5) light up alternatively.
This setting is maintained also in the event of power interruption.
b. Then, ensure that when the set temperature is changed, the unit alternates cooling only (blue indicator “AS” on), fan (blue and red indicators off) or heating only (red v “A5” on) mode.
In this mode, read ambient temperature compensation is disabled. This setting can only be carried out from the panel on board the machine.

if automatic mode is active, it is not possible to change the operating mode from the remote controller.
3.7 – MANUAL COOLING/ HEATING MODE
From board the machine
a. To activate/deactivate this function, keep cooling/heating selection key “T3” pressed for 10 seconds until the blue and red symbols (A5) light up alternatively.
This setting is maintained also in the event of power interruption.
b. Pressing key “T3” for 2 seconds allows to cyclically select cooling (blue LED), heating (red LED) or fan (red LED and blue LED off) mode.

From remote controller
a. To select this function, press the key “B2” until the heating only (10) or cooling only (11) symbol appears on the remote controller.
From the remote controller it is not possible to change setting from manual mode to automatic mode.

3.8 – FAN MODE
When this mode is used, the appliance does not exercise any action on temperature or air humidity in the room, but only keeps it in circulation.
From board the machine
a. Pressing key “T3” for 2 seconds allows to cyclically select cooling (blue LED), heating (red LED) or fan (red LED and blue LED off) mode.
b. Under this operating mode, the internal fan is always on and it is possible to select the desired speed of the fan at any moment by pressing the specific key “T2”.
The desired temperature which operates on the automatic speed of the fan can be selected only from board the machine: the more the desired temperature deviates from ambient temperature, the more the fan speed is high.

These are the possible speeds for the fan.  MAXIMUM speed

 AUTO speed

From remote controller
a. This function can be selected by pressing key “B2” until when the two heating (10) or cooling (11) symbols are both off.
b. Under this operating mode, the internal fan is always on and it is possible to select the desired speed of the fan at any moment by pressing the specific key “B6”.
In fan mode, the solenoid valve remains disabled, while the fan is activated at the set speed.
3.8.a – Operation at maximum speed
From board the machine
a. To select this mode, press key “ ” (T2) several times until the indicator (A4) activates.
b. With this mode it is possible to obtain the maximum supplied power both in cooling and heating modes (the fan motor is always activated at maximum speed).
From remote controller
a. To select this mode, press key “B6” several times until the indicator (6) activates completely.
3.8.b – Operation at AUTO speed
From board the machine
a. To select this mode, press key “ ” (T2) several times until the indicator (A3) activates.
b. In this mode, the fan speed adjustment is completely automatic between a minimum and maximum value, according to the heating or cooling needs of the room
From remote controller
a. To select this mode, press key “B6” several times until the indicator (5) activates.

3.9 – NIGHT OPERATION
From board the machine
a. To select this mode, press key “ ” (T2) several times until the indicator (A1) activates.
b. The function deactivates automatically when the fan speed is changed by means of the key “ ” (T2).
From remote controller
a. To select this mode, press key “B11” until the indicator (7) activates.
b. To be able to change ventilation speed, it is necessary to disable the function by pressing key “B11” first.
When this function is enabled, the internal fan is controlled by the appliance automatically and the set ambient temperature is automatically changed as follows:

  • decreased by 1°C after one hour and by another degree after 2 hours in heating function;
  • increased by 1°C after one hour and by another degree after 2 hours in cooling function.

If the unit has been configured as radiant (J1 in ON position), night ventilation speed selection inhibits the rotation of the fan.
3.10 – MEANING OF BLINKING AND OPERATION OF THE LED
– The blinking LED (A5) indicates that the request for water (hot or cold) has not been met and causes the stop of the fan as long as water temperature does not reach an appropriate value which can meet the request.
– The alternate switching on of the red and blue LEDs (AS) indicates that the automatic cooling/heating mode is active.
– The4LEDs « », “ ” ” ,” “and “ | ” indicate the set fan speed. If all the 4 LEDs are off, Stand-by mode is active.
Each of these LEDs is active in blinking mode (soft-blinking) if during heating or cooling (red or blue LEDs “A5” ON) the set temperature is respectively lower or higher than the ambient temperature detected by the appliance.
To increase comfort at night, the LEDs brightness on the electronic panel is decreased after 15  seconds of inactivity on the keys or on the temperature selector.
Only from remote controller, press key “B7” to be able to switch off the LEDs on the control panel after 15 seconds of inactivity on the keys.
Every time the keys are pressed on the control panel, the LEDs brightness returns at maximum level over the following 15 seconds.
3.11 -SWING OPERATION
a. Press the key “B3’, the icon (9) lights up and the flap starts to oscillate. Press key “B3” again, the icon (9) switches off and the flap stops oscillation, stopping in the position it reached at that moment.
if the fan is switched off while the flap is set to swing mode,  the swing stops and restarts when the fan is switched on again.
This function can only be activated/deactivated from the remote controller.
3.12 -SPECIAL FUNCTIONS
3.12.a- Air sampling
In heating or cooling mode and with ambient temperature higher or lower than the desired value, the fan is periodically powered for 1 minute at minimum speed. This way, the system is able to adequately keep temperature in the room under control and to reactivate faster in case of need.
This function is ONLY active if the unit is installed in high position.
3.12.b- Commands lock
To lock the keys on board the machine, keep keys “ (T1) pressed simultaneously for 5 seconds.
The activation of the function is verified by the visualization of (BL) on the display every time any key is pressed.
This function can only be activated/deactivated from board the machine.
3.12.¢- Water not suitable
The effective operation of the appliance in cooling or heating mode is always conditioned by temperature of water circulating inside the system. If water temperature does not reach a value suitable for the set mode, so if water is too hot in cooling mode or too cold in heating mode, the fan motor remains off and the indicator of the current mode (A5) blinks.
– The function is active in cooling mode if the unit is not thermostatic and if water temperature in the battery is higher than 20°C from more than 5 minutes.
The unit immediately resumes normal operation of one of the two conditions is not met anymore.
– The function activates in heating mode if the unit is not thermostatic and if water temperature in the battery drops under 30°C (the fan stops immediately). in heating mode, the unit restarts normal operation only if temperature is higher than 30°C for at least 30 seconds
3.12.d- Water probe inhibition
If a particular system requires it, it is possible to inhibit the control of the unit on unsuitable water temperature.
– Disconnect the unit from the power supply.
– Disconnect the battery probe from the connector X4
– Switch on the unit and wait that the alarm “E3” appears on the display.
– Press keys “T2” and “T3” simultaneously for at least 10 seconds, at this point the alarm is disabled and the display shows the desired temperature.
To reactivate the control of water temperature (from disconnected machine), it is necessary to reconnect the probe.
3.12.e – Display rotation
If the installation of the unit requires it, it is possible to rotate temperature on the display 180° by pressing “ “(T1) and “ (T3) simultaneously for at least 5 seconds.
This function can only be activated/deactivated from board the machine.
3.13 -OPERATION WITH TIMER (DELAYED SWITCHING ON AND SWITCHING OFF)
This mode allows to program the unit switching on and switching off
The delay time can be set, activated and cancelled from the remote controller.
3.13.a – Setting of the switching on timer from remote controller
a. After switching on the unit, select the operating mode, desired temperature and fan speed with which the unit will reactivate at the programmed switching on.
Then, set the machine to Stand-By mode.
b. Press key “B8″ to set the desired delay (from 1 to 24 hours) after which the unit will switch on starting from timer confirmation.
c. If no key is pressed within 5 seconds, the timer setting function will end automatically.
d. The remote controller display shows the countdown for switching on while the display of the fan coil shows the message “tl”.

12 Once the set time passes, the unit will start with the last selected settings.
3.13.b – Setting of the switching off timer from remote controller
a. With the unit set to any operating mode, press key “B9” to set the desired delay (from 1 to 24 hours) after which the unit will switch off starting from timer confirmation.
b. If no key is pressed within 5 seconds, the timer setting function will end automatically.
d. The remote controller display shows the countdown for switching off while the display of the fan coil shows the message “tl”.

3.14 -SWITCHING OFF FOR PROLONGED PERIODS
If the appliance is not used for a prolonged period of time, it is necessary to carry out the following operations:
a. Set the main switch of the system to “off”.
b. Close the water valves.
c. If the risk of frost exists, make sure that antifreeze liquid has been added to the system, empty the system otherwise.
The antifreeze function is not active.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

Before proceeding with any maintenance and cleaning intervention, disconnect the unit from the mains supply by switching the main power switch off.
Wait for the components to cool down to avoid the danger of burns.
Periodic maintenance is essential in order to maintain the fan coil always efficient, safe and reliable over time. Some maintenance operations can be carried out every six months, others every year, by the Technical Assistance Service, which is technically authorized and prepared and also has, if necessary, original spare parts available.

4.1 – CLEANING
4.1.a – Cleaning the appliance
a. It is possible to use a cloth soaked in cold water to clean the appliance if the latter is very dirty.
Do not use abrasive sponges or abrasive or corrosive detergents not to damage the varnished surfaces.
4.1.b – Air intake filter cleaning
It is mandatory to periodically check the status of the air filters and to provide for their cleaning whenever necessary and, in any case, whenever reported by the installed electronic control devices (if present).
The frequency of cleaning of the filters depends on the specific operating conditions of the machine.
To clean the air filters, proceed as described in the following paragraphs.
The use of the appliance without net filter is prohibited.

4.1.c – Removal of the filtering cells (fig.21)
a. Grasp the tab (40) of the filter and apply a slight pressure towards the rear wall to make the internal tab (40a)  exit from the slot.
b. Slightly rotate the filter (41).
c. Extract the filter (41) from its seat.

The quantity of filters depends on the dimensions of the machine.
4.1.d – Cleaning of the filtering cells (fig.21-22)
a. Vacuum dust from the filter using a vacuum cleaner.
b. Wash the filter (41) under running water without using detergents nor solvents, then let it dry.
c. Remount the filter on the fan coil, paying particular attention to insert the rear clip (40) in its seat (40a), while the front one (42) must support the clip (42a) inside the front panel.
4.2 – ADVICES FOR ENERGY CONSERVATION
– Constantly keep the filters clean;
– Keep the doors and windows of the rooms which must be conditioned closed as much as possible;
– During summer, limit, as much as possible, direct irradiation of sun’s rays in the rooms which must be conditioned (use curtains, blinds, etc.).

INCONVENIENCES AND POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS

Thermal  insulators  aredisconnected.| Replace  the  junction  which integrates the thermostatic valve in the water inlet upper unit.
Check for correct positioning of the  thermoacoustic  insulators, paying particular  attention  to the  front  one  above  the  finned battery.
A few water drops are present on theair outlet flap.| In situations of high relative ambient
humidity  (>60%)  condensation phenomenons may occur, especially at minimum ventilation speeds.| Once relative humidity drops, the phenomenon disappears. In any case,  the  possible  fall  of  some water drops inside the appliance does not indicate a malfunction.
The  appliance  loses  water  duringcooling only function.| The condensation basin is clogged.
The condensation drain has not the  necessary  inclination  for correct drainage.
The connection pipelines and the valves unit are not insulated correctly.| Slowly  pour  a  water  bottle  in the bottom part of the battery to ensure drainage;  if  necessary, clean the basin and/or improve inclination of the drain pipe.
Check  for  insulation  of  the pipelines.
The appliance emits excessivenoise.| The fan touches the structure.
The fan is unbalanced.| Check for possible interferences by manually rotating the fan.
Unbalancing determines excessive  vibrations  of  the machine: replace the fan.

Do not try to repair the equipment by yourself.
If the problem has not been solved, please contact your local retailer or the closest assistance service.
Supply detailed information on the malfunction and on the equipment model.
