Product Usage Instructions
Before Installation:
Thank you for choosing a product from the BEEPER range for your vehicle.
BEEPER products have been designed and produced for your complete
satisfaction. We advise you to have this product installed by a professional
and to read this guide for perfect use of the product. Our technical
department is at your disposal for any further information.
Please follow the following advice before installing the system:
- The system operates under 12V direct current (12 V DC). Be sure of the polarity of each wire.
- Check before installation if all the elements of the vehicle are working correctly such as ignition & engine start, ignition codes, lights and headlights, indicators, heating, air conditioning, door locks, … Check after installation that all these same elements are working .
- When you connect the general GROUND of the system, it is very important that this ground is frank and totally stable (no leaks). Make sure that all wires passing through tight places are protected with tape to prevent excessive twisting and degradation of the plastic protection of the wire with the risk of bad contacts.
- Make sure that the wires of the system as well as all the security accessories are as well concealed as possible in the vehicle, never forget that you are installing a security system.
- Use a digital multimeter to locate each of the wire polarities.
- Take care not to disconnect the battery if the vehicle has a code car radio.
- If the vehicle is equipped with an AIRBAG, take care not to disconnect the battery from the vehicle, nor to connect the wires without certainty.
- Remove the dome light fuse when installing the system to avoid draining the battery (doors open).
XRAY = MULTIPLEXED VEHICLES
The BEEPER XRAY system is compatible with all multiplexed vehicles on the
market.
BEEPER systems are compatible with the European car fleet and their
installation cannot invalidate or modify the conditions of the vehicle
warranty.
System Setup
Installation of the Central Siren
-
Open the engine hood and find the best location for its installation. Be sure to place it in a location designed in such a way as to prevent water from entering. Also be careful not to install it too close to the motor or in an area where there is high temperature.
-
Connect your central siren following the instructions below and the diagram on page 5:
-
The RED & BLACK wires must be connected. They are used to power the central siren.
-
Connect the RED wire to a +12V BATTERY.
-
Connect the BLACK wire to a GROUND (-).
-
The WHITE, ORANGE and BLUE wires are optional and allow you to power additional functions on your alarm:
-
Connect the ORANGE wire to add a starter cut-off relay (for the control of this relay).* When the alarm is activated, a signal is sent and activates the starter cutout. Starting the vehicle is therefore impossible.
-
Connect the BLUE wire to a perimeter line (= instant system alarm line, connected to doors, trunk, hood, or any other electrical component of the vehicle to detect unauthorized access to the vehicle).
Warning : On recent vehicles (since 2010), it is not recommended to connect directly to the doors and ceiling lights because the systems are multiplexed (canbus). -
Connect the WHITE wire to a +12V APC to detect ignition of the vehicle (safety function).
Caution: This wire is usually not to be permanently connected.
-
Note: To code a remote control it is necessary to connect the BLUE & WHITE wires.
Using the Alarm
Your Beeper XRAY XR2 alarm has two protection modes: Full mode (all detections activated) & Eco mode (only the optional functions are active, the shock sensor is deactivated).
-
Full Mode
To activate the alarm in full mode, press button #3 once. The siren will ring once and the LED lights up for 10 seconds then flashes to indicate system activation.
In this mode: -
In the event of a slight shock, the siren sounds 5 times then stops (= first level of the shock sensor).
-
In the event of a major shock, the siren sounds for 30 seconds then stops (= second level of the shock sensor).
-
If multiple light shocks are detected within 10 seconds, the siren sounds for 30 seconds and then stops.
-
If the optional functions trigger the alarm (eg door opening, ignition, etc.), the siren sounds continuously.
To deactivate the alarm, press button #1 once. The siren rings twice and the LED goes out. -
Eco mode
To activate the alarm in eco mode, press button #3 once. The siren will ring once. Press button #3 again.
The siren beeps again and the LED starts flashing to inform you that the eco mode is activated.
Important
In this mode, the shock sensor is disabled. Only optional functions can trigger the alarm. If no optional function connected (WHITE, ORANGE & BLUE cables), no active detection.
To deactivate the alarm, press button #1 once. The siren rings twice and the LED goes out. -
Vehicle detection function / Panic mode
To detect the vehicle (or panic mode), it is necessary to perform 3 consecutive slow presses on button #3 -
Emergency deactivation
Note: Requires the connection of the white wire (+12V APC) and the blue wire (perimetry).
Open a door (if perimeter connected) or ground the BLUE wire.
Switch the ignition from ACC ON to ACC OFF 5 times, then stay in the ON position. The siren beeps 3 times to indicate deactivation. -
Shock Sensor Sensitivity Adjustment
The sensitivity of the shock sensor can be adjusted in 5 levels. 1 = Shock sensor disabled, 5 = Maximum sensitivity. By default, the shock sensor is set to level 3.
To adjust the sensitivity of the shock sensor, press button #3 programming mode.- To lower the sensitivity of the sensor, press button #3 as many times as desired.
- To increase sensor sensitivity, press button #1 as many times as desired.
To exit settings mode, do not touch the remote control for 10 seconds. The siren beeps 3 times to indicate exit from programming mode.
-
Activation/Deactivation of the current consumption sensor
To access the current consumption sensor settings, press button #1 for 2 seconds. The siren will beep 3 times to indicate you have entered programming mode.- To activate the current consumption sensor, press button #3 once. The siren then beeps once in response.
- To deactivate the current consumption sensor, press button #1 once. The siren then beeps twice in response.
To exit settings mode, do not touch the remote control for 10 seconds. The siren beeps twice to indicate exit from programming mode.
Options
-
Anti-lift detection
Lift detection lets you know when your vehicle is lifted or moved. It will be necessary to add the anti-lifting module (ref. XR2-CATAL) -
Opening detection
For the perimetry option, it is necessary to connect the blue perimetry wire (-) to the perimetry of the vehicle. If an opening is opened, the alarm is triggered.
Attention, this wire is necessary for the possible coding of the remote controls. -
Starter cut-off relay
The starter cut-off relay allows you to cut off power from the key switch to the starter. It will be necessary to add the 12V 4-pin 30A universal relay module (ref. TSX-RCM) -
Contact detection
For the contact detection option on the vehicle, it is necessary to connect the white wire (+ 12V after ignition) to a + 12V after ignition of the vehicle. Attention, this wire is necessary for the possible coding of the remote controls.
