PETZL Aria 1 Waterproof Headlamp
Product Information
The ARIA headlamp is a hybrid headlamp that is compatible with AAA-LR03 alkaline, lithium, or Ni-MH rechargeable batteries and with the CORE rechargeable battery. The CORE rechargeable battery is a Petzl Li-Ion rechargeable battery with a capacity of 1250 mAh. The lamp comes with standard batteries or the CORE battery depending on the model.
Battery Precautions
It is important to read and understand the Instructions for Use before using
the headlamp. The lamp is not recommended for children under 3 years old.
Children under 12 years old should use the headlamp under responsible adult
supervision. Failure to follow these precautions may result in severe injury
or death.
Lamp Operation
To operate the headlamp, insert the compatible batteries into the designated
battery compartment. Make sure to check the condition and polarity of the
batteries and clean the contacts if necessary. If the lamp does not work,
contact Petzl for assistance.
Charging the CORE Battery
If using the CORE rechargeable battery, it is important to charge the battery
completely before first use. Only use a Petzl rechargeable battery with the
headlamp. Li-Ion rechargeable batteries lose 10% of their capacity each year
and can still maintain about 70% of their initial capacity after 300
charge/discharge cycles. When the CORE battery is nearly drained, the light
may turn off abruptly.
General Information
Petzl provides a 5-year guarantee for the headlamp against defects in
materials or manufacture (excluding the rechargeable battery, which has a
2-year guarantee or 300 cycles). The guarantee does not cover normal wear and
tear, oxidation, modifications or alterations, incorrect storage, poor
maintenance, battery leakage, damage due to accidents, negligence, or uses for
which the product was not designed. Petzl is not responsible for any
consequences or damages resulting from the use of its products.

Lamp operation
To select the different lighting modes, use the button as indicated in the diagrams.
- If more than 3 seconds pass without the button being pressed, one click will turn off the lamp.
- If the lamp is turned off in a color mode, it re-lights in the selected color (only for models that have colored lighting).
- Reserve lighting: the lamp blinks when it switches to reserve lighting, and 5 minutes beforehand. When the lamp switches to reserve lighting, it provides enough light to walk by, but not enough for a dynamic activity.
- Lock the lamp when not in use to avoid accidentally turning it on.
- The energy gauge lights when the lamp is turned on or off (except when it is turned off for models that have colored lighting).
- For models with color lighting, the lamp can only be locked when it is off.
HYBRID Headlamp
- Headlamp compatible with AAA-LR03 alkaline, lithium, or Ni-MH rechargeable batteries and with the CORE rechargeable battery.
- Only rechargeable (R) headlamp models come with the CORE battery. Other models come with standard batteries.
CORE rechargeable battery
- Petzl Li-Ion rechargeable battery.
- Capacity: 1250 mAh.
Charge the battery completely before first use. Use only a Petzl rechargeable battery.
- In general, Li-Ion rechargeable batteries lose 10 % of their capacity each year. After 300 charge/discharge cycles, they still have about 70 % of their initial capacity.
- Warning: if using the CORE battery, when the battery is nearly drained, the light may turn off abruptly.
Charging the battery
WARNING
- Charge only with a USB cable. The charger’s output voltage must not exceed 5 V. Use only a
- Class II electrical, CE/UL approved charger (double insulation against hazardous voltages). Do not leave the battery unattended while charging.
Charging time
- Charging time is approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes with a USB charger or a computer.
- Warning: if several USB devices are connected to your computer, the charging time can increase (up to 24 hours).
- While charging, the charge indicator lights steady red, then steady green when charging is complete.
Replacing the rechargeable battery
Use only a Petzl rechargeable battery. Using another type of rechargeable
battery can damage the lamp. Do not use another type of rechargeable battery.
Malfunction
