Product Information

This product is a luminaire designed for lighting purposes. The installation and operation of this luminaire must comply with national safety regulations. It is recommended that installation and commissioning be carried out by a qualified electrician to ensure proper use and avoid any damage caused by improper installation or use. The luminaire is equipped with electronic components that are protected against overvoltage in accordance with DIN EN 61547. However, for additional protection against transients, it is recommended to use separate overvoltage protection components, which can be found on the manufacturer’s website. The luminaire is equipped with an LED module with a connected wattage of 7.8 W and a luminaire connected wattage of 9.2 W. The rated temperature for the luminaire is between 25°C and 35°C. The ambient temperature should also be within this range for optimal performance. The LED module has a module designation of LED-1021/930 with a color temperature of 3000 K. It has a color rendering index (CRI) greater than 90, indicating high color accuracy. The module has a luminous flux of 1180 lm, while the luminaire has a luminous flux of 562 lm. The luminaire has a luminous efficiency of 61.1 lm/W. Product Usage Instructions:

  1. Ensure that the luminaire housing and external LED power supply unit are not covered by any heat insulating materials during installation.
  2. Handle the LED module with care and avoid touching the light output opening directly during installation or relamping.
  3. If you need to replace the LED module, refer to the label inside the luminaire to identify the module designation.
  4. Disconnect the system and open the luminaire following the installation instructions provided for replacing the LED module.
  5. Replace the module using standard tools. Ensure that the replacement module has the same light color and light output as the original module.
  6. Close the luminaire after replacing the LED module.

Safety

  • The installation and operation of this luminaire are subject to national safety regulations. Installation and commissioning may only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
  • The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage caused by improper use or installation. If subsequent modifications are made to the luminaire, the person responsible for these modifications shall be considered the manufacturer.

Installation

  • Luminaire housing and external LED power supply unit must not be covered by any heat-insulating materials.
  • LED are high-quality electronic components! Please avoid touching the light output opening of the LED directly during installation or relamping.
  • Cover the recessed opening with the stop ring of the luminaire housing.
  • The luminaire housing is then fixed in the recessed opening via two springs.

Installation in suspended ceilings:

  • A recessed opening of 100 mm with a minimum depth of 75 mm is required.
  • The minimal thickness of the ceiling panel must be 5 mm and must not be greater than 30 mm. A ceiling panel with less than 5 mm thickness must be reinforced on the reverse.
  • The electrical connection must be made on site in the appropriate safety class on the LED power supply unit connecting cable. A distribution box must be used.
  • Ensure the correct assignment of the connecting cable. Establish the mains connection on the brown (L) and blue (N) wires. The connection of the control cables is achieved by means of the both leads marked with – DALI.
  • In case these leads are not used the luminaire will be operated at full light output.
  • Guide the LED power supply unit through the opening in the ceiling and position it on the suspended ceiling.
  • Compress the fastening springs of the luminaire housing on both sides and slide the luminaire housing into the recessed opening.
  • The fastening springs lock into place behind the ceiling panel.

Cleaning · Maintenance

  • Clean luminaire regularly with solvent-free cleansers from dirt.

Replacing the LED module

  • The designation of the LED module is noted on a label in the luminaire.
  • The light colour and light output of BEGA replacement modules correspond to those of the modules originally fitted. The module can be replaced by qualified persons using standard tools.
  • Disconnect the system and open the luminaire. Please follow the installation instructions for the LED module.
  • Close the luminaire.
