Product Information

The Unterwasserscheinwerfer RGBW is an underwater floodlight designed for RGBW additive color mixing. It is water-pressure-tight and suitable for illuminating non-accessible ponds, pools, and water features with a depth of up to 20 meters. The luminaire has an IP68 rating, indicating its high level of water and dust resistance.

The LED module-connected wattage is 43.9 W, and the luminaire-connected wattage is 49 W. The module designation is LED-1241/RGBW, and the color temperature of the white LED is 4000 K. The luminaire has a luminous flux of 2400 lm and a luminous efficiency of 49 lm/W.

Safety is an important consideration when installing and operating this luminaire. It should only be installed and commissioned by a qualified electrician. The manufacturer does not accept liability for damage caused by improper use or installation. Overvoltage protection is recommended for additional protection against transients, and suitable components can be found on the manufacturer’s website.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Pre-mount two mounting screws suitable for the installation surface at 120 mm intervals in the desired position.
  2. Insert the floodlight with the bracket into the mounting screws and fasten it securely.
  3. Adjust the floodlight’s beam direction by undoing the hexagon socket screws (wrench size 5 mm) and setting the desired angle. Then, tighten the screws evenly.
  4. Do not remove the desiccant bag from the luminaire housing as it is necessary for removing residual moisture.
  5. If you need to replace the LED module or power supply unit, refer to the label in the luminaire for the designation of the LED module. BEGA replacement modules have matching light color and output. Qualified individuals can replace the module using standard tools. Avoid touching the light output opening of the LED directly during relamping.

For additional accessories and their usage instructions, please refer to the separate instructions provided.

Lighting technology

  • Wide beam light distribution
  • Half beam angle 50°
  • When designing a lighting installation underwater, note that the amount of light absorbed by the water depends on the clarity of the water.
  • Lighting intensity and brightness are less than with a free-burning floodlight.
  • The values shown in the floodlight diagram are only valid for medium air.
  • In clear water at a distance of 10 m, the lighting intensity is about half that of a free-burning floodlight.

Safety

  • The installation and operation of this luminaire are subject to national safety regulations.
  • Installation and commissioning may only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
  • The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage caused by improper use or installation.
  • If subsequent modifications are made to the luminaire, the person responsible for these modifications shall be considered the manufacturer.

Overvoltage protection

  • The electronic components installed in the luminaire are protected against overvoltage in accordance with DIN EN 61547.
  • To achieve an additional protection against e. g. transients, etc. we recommend separate overvoltage protection components.
  • You can find them on our website at www.bega.com.

Installation

  • The floodlight may only be operated underwater in non-accessible areas of pools.
  • The electrical connection must be made outside the water with the appropriate safety class and protection class on the floodlight connection line.
  • Note correct configuration of the mains supply cable. Make mains supply connection at the brown (L), blue (N) and green-yellow lead (1).
  • The connection of the control cables is achieved by means of the both leads marked with DALI.
  • In case these leads are not used the luminaire will be operated at full light output.
  • Pre-mount two mounting screws suitable for the installation surface at 120 mm intervals in the desired position.
  • Insert the floodlight with the bracket into the mounting screws and fasten.

Adjust the floodlight:

  • Undo hexagon socket screws (wrench size 5 mm) and set the desired beam direction.
  • Tighten the hexagon socket screws evenly.

Cleaning And Maintenance

  • Clean the luminaire regularly with solvent-free cleansers from dirt and deposits.
  • Do not use high-pressure cleaners.
  • To avoid surface damage to the floodlight, the water must have a neutral pH value and be free from substances that cause metal corrosion.

Please note:

  • Do not remove the desiccant bag from the luminaire housing.
  • It is needed to remove residual moisture.

Replacing the LED module/Power supply unit

  • The designation of the LED module is noted on a label in the luminaire.
  • The light colour and light output of BEGA replacement modules correspond to those of the modules originally fitted.
  • The module can be replaced by qualified persons using standard tools.
