Product Information

The Solar Relay Inverter Control with Solis 1Phase S5 Series & 4G Series is a product developed by Catch Power, a trademark of Project H Pty Ltd. It is designed to facilitate the wiring and configuration needed to implement inverter control. The product includes a metering interface and is compatible with the Solis Meter Plug (sold separately). The product allows for monitoring and control of the inverter through the CATCHPower App.

Product Usage Instructions

Wiring Instructions

  1. Ensure that the data cable used is rated for the voltages it will be in close proximity to.
  2. If the cable run is longer than 10m, a 120 Ohm terminating resistor may be required at the CATCH Relay terminals.
  3. Connect the RS485 A wire to the + terminal and the RS485 B wire to the – terminal.

Note: The Solis Meter Plug is sold separately.

SOLAR RELAY Setup

  1. Open the CATCHPower App and navigate to the Configuration page.
  2. Under Modbus configuration, set the parameters as shown:
  • Cluster Export Limit: 1
  • Baud Rate: 9600
  • Model: 1 P5K-4G (4G series) – Choose Solis Acrel
  • Model: S5 Series – Choose Solis S5 Series

Checking the status of the RS485 interface

  • In the CATCH Power App, navigate to the Live Data screen.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the screen to find the RS485 Status.
  • The RS485 Status indicates the inverter’s data transmission on the RS485 cable. A non-zero value confirms correct operation.

Setting up for export control

  1. Go to Advanced Settings in the CATCHPower App.
  2. Enter the password: 0010
  3. Set the following parameters:
  • Internal EPM Set
  • Mode Select: Backflow Power Fail Safe ON/OFF
  • Meter Select: Meter in Grid Power (XXXX W) ON
  • The Export Limit: Select 1Phase and Choose ACR10RD16TE

DYNAMIC / FLEXIBLE EXPORT CONTROL (optional)
If you wish to enable dynamic/flexible exports, follow these additional steps:

Note: This feature is not available if using RTU Control or if the inverter has a connected battery.

  1. Set the inverter export limit to ZERO in Advanced Settings.
  2. Complete the Mode Select, Backflow Power Fail Safe ON/OFF, and Internal EPM Set parameters as before.

This guide discusses the specific wiring and configuration need to implement inverter control. Ensure the installation guide for both products is also followed.

Checking the status of the RS485 interface

Within the CATCH Power app if you navigate to the bottom of the Live Data screen you will see something similar to the screen below.
The RS485 Status Can be used to confirm correct operation

NO BATTERIES
RTU Control cannot be used on Hybrid inverters that have a battery connected.
