Operating instructions

Congratulations on purchasing your new PARK LITE 2. With PARK LITE 2 in your car, you no longer need to worry about forgetting to adjust your parking disc and thus  risking expensive fines.
PARK LITE 2 electronically records the movements of the vehicle and automatically sets the parking disc to the current parking time.
Parking mode is only ended once the vehicle starts moving again.
Before getting started with the PARK LITE 2, please read these operating instructions carefully. In order to guarantee correct installation of the PARK LITE 2, please follow  the instructions below:

Settings

A: Activate the battery
Wipe off the battery with a cloth and carefully insert it into the battery compartment (it can take a little while before the display starts to flash).
B: Set the digital clock
(The clock in the PARK LITE 2 automatically switches between summer time and winter time, but this function can be deactivated manually if required, see C:)

  1. In order to activate the setting mode, use a pointed object to press the button ② and hold it down until the “Hours”-digits starts to flash.

  2. As soon as “Hours” starts flashing, press the ③ button several times until the hours is set correctly.

  3. Then press the ② button and “Minutes” will start to flash. Set the minutes using the ③ button.

  4. Proceed in the same way to set the year, month and date (in that order).

  5. Choose the way of showing the parking start time:
    0:PE
The start time is exactly the current time. If you park your car at 13:07 the display will show 13:07. This is valid e.g. in Estonia and Norway.
    1:PE
The start time is set to the next quarter. If you park your car at 13:07 the display will show 13:15. This is valid e.g. in Denmark and Austria.
    2:PE
The start time is set to the next half hour. If you park your car at 13:07 the display will show 13:30. This is valid e.g. in Finland, Germany and Switzerland.

  6. Once all the settings have been made only the colon (:) on the time display should be flashing.

If one of the digits is still flashing, press the ② button several times until the flashing stops. To change the settings for the PARK LITE 2, the process can be repeated by  pressing and holding the ② button until “Hours” -digits starts to flash.
Check the time and the correct functionality regularly, especially when switching between summer and  winter time. Needit ApS and importer  will not reimburse any parking charges.

C: Activating/deactivating summer/winter time
By default, the digital clock is set to switch automatically between summer time and winter time. For countries without daylight-saving time, the function can be deactivated as follows:

  1. To activate settings mode, press buttons ② and ③ at the same time until “Hours” and “Minutes” -digits shows “oN:Su”
  2. Slowly release the ② button.
  3. Hold down the ③ button until the display shows “oF:Su”
  4. The display automatically reverts to function mode.

The PARK LITE 2 is now ready to fit to the inside of the front windscreen.
NB: Only one parking disc can be used in the vehicle and the correct setting of the parking disc is always the responsibility of the driver of the vehicle.
Needit ApS and importer will not reimburse any parking charges.
Fitting the PARK LITE 2

  1. Find a suitable spot on the inside of the windscreen where all 4 adhesive pads are in contact with the glass. When you do so, make sure that all the buttons on the back of  the clock are accessible and you can easily change the battery. We recommend placing the disc in the lower right corner in the passenger side.
  2. Clean the inside of the windscreen in the area you have planned for the parking disc with glass cleaner or damp cloth. Wipe the glass dry carefully. You may use marking tape on the outside of the windscreen to help finding the best location for the device.
  3. Make sure that the screen is at least +15 °C, as the adhesive pads do not work correctly at lower temperatures. If necessary, warm up the windscreen using the vehicle’s  fan or (very carefully) with a hair-dryer.
  4. Remove the protective film from the 4 adhesive pads and press the parking disc firmly against the windscreen for about 30 seconds. Do not press against the middle of the back. Then check from the outside that all 4 adhesive pads are sticking to the screen well.
  5. Your PARK LITE 2 is now installed and ready for use.

Warning:
The PARK LITE 2 must not be left loose in the vehicle, it must be fitted to the windscreen in order to work properly.
How does PARK LITE 2 work

Press the button down and release once the desired time appears. Please note that this function is only available if the PARK LITE 2 is in park  mode.
Battery
If the diode ① starts flashing for 10 seconds when the PARK LITE 2 goes into park mode or out of it, the battery needs replacing within a week. The battery is commercially available. DO NOT  FORGET TO SET THE CLOCK!
When you change the battery, the clock is automatically reset.
All settings need to be done as described above.
NB: The LCD display in your PARK LITE 2 will go out shortly after you remove the battery, so you should not leave the vehicle while there is no battery in the clock.
