Safety Instructions
Read the safety instructions first.
Warning!
Take care to avoid the hot surface of the appliance coming into direct contact
with the skin, in particular the eyes, ears, face and neck.
- Before styling, release the water tank by pressing the button marked ‘ ’ on top of the appliance.
- Carefully open the rubber cap and use the dropper provided to fill the water tank with distilled water.
- Replace the water tank onto the appliance and check that it is locked securely into place.
- Check that the outside of the water tank and appliance are completely dry. If you need to refill the water tank a second time, unplug the appliance and reinstall the water tank immediately after you have refilled it.
WARNING!
Do not touch the hot plates or metal parts of the appliance whilst hot.
- Ensure hair is dry and combed through to remove any tangles. Divide the hair into sections ready for styling.
- Press the button marked ‘ ’ to turn the appliance on. The appliance will automatically start heating up.
- To select a heat setting suitable for your hair type, press the ‘+’ or ‘-‘ buttons until the desired heat setting is selected. The LED indicator light will flash until the selected temperature has been reached. Once the temperature has been reached, The LED light will remain solid in colour.
- There are 2 steam settings to choose from; low and high. To activate the steam technology on the low setting, press the button marked ‘ ’. The first LED light will light up, close the plates and steam will start emitting from the appliance. To select the high steam setting simply press the ‘ ’ button again, the second LED light will light up, close the plates and steam will start emitting from the appliance.
Please note:
The steam will only emit from the appliance when the LED lights are solid and
the plates are closed.
Please note:
The appliance can be used without the steam function. To unselect the steam
function press the ‘ ’ button for a third time and the LED light will turn
off.
IMPORTANT:
After 5 seconds of the straightener being turned on, the temperature buttons
will automatically lock. To adjust the settings, hold down the ‘+’ or ‘-’ or ‘
’ button for 2 seconds, this will deactivate the lock mode and allow the
settings to be changed.
WARNING!
Avoid directing steam toward the face and neck.
Important!
If no steam is released from the appliance, it may have switched to standby
mode. Open or close the plates to reactivate the steam technology and check
the steam function has been selected.
Alternatively, the water tank may be empty and needs to be refilled.
- Place a section of hair between the straightening plates, close to the roots.
- Hold the hair firmly between the straightening plates and slide down the length of the hair from root to tip.
- Repeat for each section of hair.
- Allow the hair to cool before combing through.
- After use, press the ‘ ’ button to switch off, unplug the appliance and place the heat-resistant silicone plate guard over the straightening plates in a closed position.
- Allow the appliance to cool before storing away.
Heat Settings
If you have delicate, fine, bleached or coloured hair, use the lower heat settings. For thicker hair, use the higher heat settings. It is suggested to always complete a test on initial use to ensure the correct temperature is used on the hair type. Start on the lowest setting and increase the temperature until the desired result is achieved.
- There are 5 heat settings to select from; 170°C, 180°C, 190°C, 200°C and 210°C.
Straightening Comb Attachment
WARNING!
Make sure the appliance is cool before inserting or removing the straightening
comb attachments.
- Insert the edge of the straightening comb attachment into the groove by the side of the straightener plate with the bristles facing upwards.
- Slide the comb towards the opposite end of the appliance until it fits into place.
- To remove the straightening comb attachment, simply slide it away from the appliance.
Auto Shut Off
This appliance has an automatic shut-off feature for added safety. If the appliance is switched on for more than 60 minutes continuously, it will automatically switch off. If you wish to continue using the appliance after this time, simply press the ‘ ’ button to turn the power on again.
Heat Protection Wrap
This appliance comes with a heat protection wrap for use during and after styling. During use, do not place the appliance on any heat-sensitive surface, even when using the heat wrap provided. After use, switch off and unplug the appliance. Immediately wrap the appliance in the heat wrap provided and allow it to fully cool down before storing away. Continue to keep out of reach of children as it will remain hot for several minutes.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
To help keep your appliance in the best possible condition, follow the steps below:
- Ensure that the water tank is emptied after every use.
- It is best to use distilled water to fill the water tank. Where that is not possible, ensure the appliance is descaled regularly.
- Do not wrap the lead around the appliance, instead coil the lead loosely by the side of the appliance.
- Do not use the appliance at a stretch from the PowerPoint.
- Always unplug after use.
