PREREQUISITES BEFORE INSTALLATION

To ensure optimum use of your connected video door phone, you must first ensure that you have:

  •  a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (5 GHz Wi-Fi is incompatible)
  • a sufficient 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi range in the location where the indoor monitor will be installed. If this is not the case, we recommend that you move your Internet box closer to the monitor or that you use a Wi-Fi repeater (not supplied).
Important: Your connected video door phone is compatible with a maximum of 1 monitor.

PRESENTATION OF THE CONNECTED VIDEO DOOR PHONE

Your connected video door phone consists of an indoor monitor and a door station, to be connected by a 2-wire cable (not supplied). This enables you to manage access to your home wherever you are:

  • remotely via the “Somfy Protect” app: never miss a visit by receiving notifications with a photo of the visitors on all the smartphones connected to your account, communicate with them in real time, open your gate and/or pedestrian gate and consult the history of missed visits.
  • at home via your indoor monitor: preview visitors via the screen, communicate with them in real time, open your gate and/ or pedestrian gate and consult the history of missed visits at any time. If you have other Somfy RTS products within range of the monitor (gate, garage door, lighting, roller shutters, etc.), control them easily via the 5 dedicated channels.

INSTALLING THE INDOOR MONITOR

Prerequisite for radio-controlling your Somfy RTS gate motor
Your indoor monitor can control a Somfy RTS gate motor by dry contact and radio control. In the event of radio control, do not fasten the monitor to the wall and refer to the advanced settings in the guide by scanning the following QR code:

https://qrco.de/bdtzKu

  1. Screw the mounting bracket to the wall.
The mounting lugs must come out towards you (A).
Ensure that the cables protruding from the wall are routed inside the mounting bracket (B).
If the cables do not protrude from the wall, do not route them inside the bracket and use the cable tray provided for this purpose (C).

  2. Strip the cables protruding from the wall along a length of 10 mm.

  3. On the rear of the monitor, insert the 2 power supply cables up to the stop blocks on terminal block DC 24V [7-1], observing the correct polarity.
You must use the mains adapter supplied with the monitor or the DIN rail power supply available as an option (ref. 9026469).
Do not switch the installation on yet.

  4. Insert the 2 power supply cables of the door station up to the stop blocks on terminal CS/Call station [7-2].
    The polarity is irrelevant.

  5. Check that the cables are correctly inserted into the terminal blocks by pulling them gently, then place them in the notch provided for this purpose (D).

  6. Fasten the monitor to the wall bracket by sliding it gently downwards until the stop block.

INSTALLING THE DOOR STATION

We advise you to install the door station at a height of about 1.60 m and to avoid placing the camera opposite a light source, as this may reduce the quality of the images/videos taken of the visitors.

  1. Route all the cables in the rain shield, then fasten it to the wall/pillar.
sOmfy V500 Connect Touch Video Intercom Kit - fig10

  2. On the door station, connect:
    • the cable of the indoor monitor to the terminal blocks M+ and M-.
    The polarity is irrelevant,
    • the cable from the electric latch of the pedestrian gate to the terminal blocks L+ and L-,
    • the cable from the gate drive to the dry contact output (COM and NO).
Tip: Using the screwdriver, press the square notch, insert the cable then release (see drawing).

  3. Place the door station in the rain shield and screw it in using the assembly key supplied (E).

  4. Install the name plate:
(1). Turn the call button anticlockwise to the engraved marking then remove.
(2). Remove the round membrane to access the name plate label.
(3). Write your name on the white label using a permanent marker, then refit the label and its cove in the housing.
(4). Reassemble the call button on the door station using the marks, and then turn clockwise until it locks.

CONNECTING TO THE GATE AND/OR PEDESTRIAN GATE

CONNECTING TO A SOMFY GATE MOTORISATION
In compliance with standard EN 12453 on the safe use of motorised doors and gates, using a video door phone to control an automatic gate or garage door that may not be visible to the user necessarily requires the installation of a photoelectric cell-type security device on this automated system.
Failure to comply with these instructions absolves Somfy of any liability resulting from damage that may be caused.

  1.  Switch the power supply to your Somfy gate motor off.
  2. Remove the cover from the control cabinet or from the motor containing the electronics.
  3. Connect the door station dry contact output (COM and NO) to the drive electronics. If connecting the door station is not explained in the drive manual, follow the instructions for connecting a key switch.
