IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS.

READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY BEFORE STARTING.
We strongly recommend that all direct-wired lighting products be installed by a licensed electrician. Two people may be required for installation. DO NOT EXCEED the rated bulb wattage. Keep flammable materials away from bulb. This light fixture is shipped with all internal wiring intact. Do not open the product or alter the wiring in any manner.
Installation requires an electrical junction box in the ceiling sufficient to support the weight of the light fixture. This fixture weighs 24.6 lbs./11.2 kg.
WARNING: Be certain that the power to the electrical junction box is turned off at the circuit breaker before installation. Turning the power off at a light switch is not sufficient to prevent electrical shock.
CAUTION: Prior to installation, locate ALL INCLUDED PARTS before disposing of packaging materials.

TOOLS REQUIRED FOR INSTALLATION:

  1. Screwdrivers
  2. Electrical Tape
  3. Wire Cutters
  4.  Pliers
  5. Wire Connectors
  6. Adjustable Wrench

Additional wiring supplies may be required.
Note: Lightbulb(s) are not included, except where required by State of California Title 20. See light fixture for bulb specification.
Our recommended lightbulb is: 15-Watt Equivalent E12 B LED

Assembly Procedure (refer to figure):

  1. SHUT OFF THE MAIN ELECTRICAL SUPPLY AT FUSE BOX/CIRCUIT BREAKER.

  2. Remove all parts from carton. Do not throw away any parts.

  3.  Remove Mounting Plate (B) from canopy (D) by loosening screws (C).

  4.  Align the slots around one of the three mounting plates holes with your junction box, and use the provided bolt assemblies (O) to affix the Mounting Plate (B) to the junction box. Install the 6 screws (M) to ensure that the Mounting Plate (B) is flush with the ceiling, predrilling holes and using the provided drywall anchors (N) if applicable for your ceiling material and chandelier siting.

  5. This Chandelier is designed with tubes in multiple lengths. It is best to assemble per the drawing on the following page. Three glass shades adjacent to each other cannot be connected to tubes of the same length; otherwise the glass shades will hit each other.
This chandelier also comes with extension tubes. If you are not going to follow the drawing, measure the desired drop for the fixture to hand and add or remove Extension Tubes (H)/(I)/(J) as needed. Guide the wiring through the Extension Tubes before threading tubes together. TO ADD/REMOVE
EXTENSIONS: Screw the threaded top of one extension into the threaded opening at the base of the next extension. To prevent damage to the wire, make sure the wiring is pulled taught when threading the extensions together.

  6.  After all desired extensions have been added, re-thread the socket cups (K) to the lowest point of the tube, and guide all of the wiring through to the canopy.

  7.  Thread the tubes to the canopy and use a 1.5mm hex key to tighten the set screws at the metal connectors between the tubes and the canopy (not pictured). Use the adjustable wrench to ensure that the nuts inside of the canopy are securely tightened.

  8.  Make proper electrical connections as described in steps 10-13. A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN IS RECOMMENDED.

  9.  Attach ground wire from fixture (green or silver in color) to ground wire from junction box. Fasten wires together with Wire Nut (A) and tightly wrap connection with electrical tape. Make sure that no wire strands are exposed. If your ELECTRICAL JUNCTION BOX DOES NOT have a GROUND WIRE, be sure to insert the closest GROUND SCREW (P) into the MOUNTING PLATE (B), marked as “GND,” facing front, and wrap the fixture’s bare GROUND WIRE around the GROUND SCREW. Tighten the screw to clamp the GROUND WIRE between GROUND SCREW (P)  ead and MOUNTING PLATE (B). IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT THE JUNCTION BOX IN YOUR HOME BE PROPERLY GROUNDED!

  10.  Trim excess wire and save a 6” length of each color to be used as spare wires in the hot and neutral connections described in steps 11-12 .

  11. Connect 4 hot wires (black) from the fixture together with the black spare wire and twist with a wire nut (A). Gather the remaining three hot wires from the fixture and use an additional wire nut (A) to connect them to  the spare wire from the first grouping, and the hot wire (black in color or smooth side of wire) from thejunction box. This series of successive wire nut connections ensures that there are no more than 5 wires per twisted wire nut connection. Tightly wrap both hot connections with electrical tape. Make sure that no wire strands are exposed

  12.  Connect 4 neutral wires (white) from the fixture together with the white spare wire and twist with a wire nut (A). Gather the remaining three neutral wires from the fixture and use an additional wire nut (A) to connect them to the spare wire from the first grouping, and the neutral wire (white in color or ribbed side of wire) from the junction box. This series of successive wire nut connections ensures that there are no more than 5 wires per twisted wire nut connection. Tightly wrap both neutral connections with electrical tape. Make sure that no wire strands are exposed. DO NOT REVERSE THE HOT AND NEUTRAL CONNECTIONS OR SAFETY WILL BE COMPROMISED.

  13.  Carefully push the wire connections back into the ceiling junction box. Lift the Canopy (D) to the ceiling and secure it to the Mounting Plate (B) with the Mounting Plate Screws (C).

  14.  Install proper lightbulbs into sockets. See page 1

  15. Screw the glass shades (L) onto the socket cups (K), matching numbered glass shades with socket cups of the same number.

Care and Cleaning:

  1. Wipe with a soft dry cloth.
  2. AVOID cleaners, scouring pads, etc.

After troubleshooting, if the lighting fixture still does not work, contact your local Ethan Allen Design Center.
