GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS
STANDARDS The Klein Tools 60440 N95 Particulate Disposable Respirator is
approved as a Particulate Filtering Facepiece Respirator in accordance with
NIOSH Standards 42 CFR Part 84. APPLICATIONS This respirator helps protect
against certain particulate contaminates but does not eliminate exposure or
the risk of contracting disease or infection. It is approved for protection
against particulate aerosols free of oils. Klein Tools recommends this
respirator for use against particles that become airborne during activities
such as grinding, sanding, or processing wood, minerals, flour, iron, coal,
and certain other substances. The protection provided by classification N95
also covers the protection provided by lower class respirators. Guidelines for
the selection and use may vary between countries; always check prior to use to
ensure that your selection for the intended application meets national
requirements.
WARNINGS
To ensure safe operations, follow these instructions. Failure to observe these
warnings and instructions may result in sickness or death.

DO NOT use against vapors, paint spray, oil-based aerosols, asbestos and sandblasting.

DO NOT use against any contaminant whose concentration is unknown, or immediately dangerous to life
-
DO NOT use against concentrations of dust and mists which exceed the maximum use concentration, or 10 times contaminant’s permissible exposure limit established by OSHA.

These respirators do not supply oxygen. Use only in well ventilated areas containing sufficient oxygen to support life.
Leave the contaminated area immediately it:- Dizziness or distress is experienced.
- You taste or smell contaminants, or irritation occurs.
- Breathing becomes difficult.
- A defect is discovered in the respirator.

DO NOT alter or modify the respirator.

NOT suitable for persons with beard or other facial hair which may reduce the efficacy of respirator.

The use and reuse of this respirator is subject to consideration of hygiene damage and increased breathing resistance. Service time should not be extended beyond 8 total hours of use.

The use of this respirator presupposes exact knowledge of the instructions for use, applicable health and safety standards, guidelines for selection and use, and appropriate training in matters of personal respiratory protection.
FITTING (FIG. 1, 2, 3, 4)
The respirator must be inspected by the wearer before and after each use to
ensure that it is in good working condition and valves are seated correctly.
NOTE: Before occupational use of this respirator, a written respiratory
protection program must be implemented meeting all the local government
requirements. In the United Stales, employers must comply with OSHA a CPR
1918.134 winch Includes medical evaluation, training, and fit testing.
STEP 1 (FIG. 1): Hold the respirator in one hand with the nose area at
your fingertips, allowing the headbands to hang below your hand. STEP 2 (FIG. 2): Press the respirator against your face with
the nose foam on the bridge of your nose. STEP 3 (FIG.
3): Place the top headband high on the back of your head. Move the bottom
band over your head and position it below your ears. STEP 4 (FIG. 4): Test the fit. Cup both hands over the
respirator and inhale vigorously. If no negative pressure is felt inside the
respirator, readjust the position of the respirator according to Steps 2. 3
and 4 until a better fit is achieved. It you CANNOT achieve
a proper seal, DO NOT enter the contaminated area. See your supervisor.
STORAGE
Store the respirators in cool dry atmosphere at a temperature of between -20°C and 40°C. Avoid direct exposure of sunlight during storage as the filter media in this respirator can be degraded by extended exposure to direct sunlight. Storage under conditions other than those specified may affect shelf life.

PROTECTION:
N95 – Particulate Filter (95% filter efficiency level) effective against particulate aerosols free of oil; time use restrictions may apply. -
CAUTIONS AND LIMITATIONS:
A – Not for use in atmospheres containing less than 19.5 percent oxygen.
B – Not for use in atmospheres immediately dangerous to life or health.
C – Do not exceed maximum use concentrations established by regulatory standards.
J – Failure to properly use and maintain this product could result in injury or death.
M – All approved respirators shall be selected, fitted, used, and maintained in accordance with MSHA, OSHA, and other applicable regulations.
N – Never substitute, modify, add, or omit parts. Use only exact replacement parts in the configuration as specified by the manufacturer.
O – Refer to User Instructions, and/or maintenance manuals for information on use and maintenance of theserespirators.
P – NIOSH does not evaluate respirators for use as surgical masks.
S – Special or critical User Instructions and/or specific use limitations apply. Refer to User Instructions before donning.
