Thank you for purchasing this light lilting. Please read the instructions carefully before use to ensure safe and satis1actory operation of this product. Please retain these instructions for future reference.

Warning

  • This is a Class 1 product and must be earthed.
  • Please read these instructions carefully before commencing any work.
  • These units must be lilted by a competent and qualified electrician.
  • Install in accordance with IEE Wiring regulations and current Building Regulations.
  • To prevent electrocution switch off at mains supply before installing or maintaining these fittings. Ensure other persons cannot restore the electrical supply without your knowledge.
  • These light fittings should be connected to a fused circuit.
  • If replacing an existing fitting, make a careful note of the connections.
  • These products are not suitable for dimming.
  • Waste electrical products should not be disposed of with household waste. Please recycle where facilities exist. Check with your local authority or retailer for recycling advice.
  • These products should not be lilted to PIR circuits or short duration timed switches.

Battery Replacement

If after routine operation check, the lamp does not remain lit for the three hour period, a new battery pack may be required.

  • Switch off the electricity at the mains.
  • Allow batteries to fully discharge then reconnect to supply and allow to charge for 24 hours.
  • Test again for 3 hours, if light does not remain lit change the battery pack as follows:
  • Undo the 2 screws at each side of the body and remove the top cover.
  • Unplug the battery lead.
  • Undo the battery screw from the aluminium sheet ,then take out the battery carefully
  • Write current date on the new battery pack.
  • Fit new battery pack using self adhesive pads or similar. If self adhesive pads are not used, ensure one side of the battery is inserted in the hole on the aluminium sheet. Fix the other side with the supplied screw.
  • Connect battery pack.
  • Replace the cover.
  • Restore power and allow to charge for 24 hours.
  • Perform full operation check and update test record .

Fitting/replacing bulbs
The LED Module in these products is non replaceable

We recommend cleaning with a soft dry cloth.
Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners as these could damage the finish .

Recycling advice
Waste electrical products should not be disposed of with household waste. Please recycle where facilities exist.
Check with your Local Authority or retailer for recycling advice.

Layout

  • Plan the desired layout of this fitting carefully, ensuring the cables will reach the distance between any junction boxes and the light fitting.
  • Avoid locating any cables in positions that would cause a hazard. Position cables and junction boxes (not supplied) away lrom areas where they may be at risk from being cut, trapped or damaged.
  • The mains supply cable must have a minimum cross sectional area of 1.0mm2
  • Cables in walls must be protected using suitable conduit or plastic trunking.

Installation

Existing fittings must be completely removed before installation of a new product. Before removing the existing fitting, carefully note the position of each set of wires.

  • After deciding the layout of the light fittings ensure that the cables are long enough to connect to the desired positions.
  • Ensure a minimum ceiling void depth of 180mm is available.
  • Cut a mounting hole 90mm diameter in the ceiling taking care not to foul any pipes, mains cables or joists beneath the surface.
  • It is always recommended to cut the hole slightly smaller size specified, and then file the hole until the unit fits snugly.
  • Unscrew the two side screws {A) and remove the top the downlight.
  • Remove the terminal block cover from the down light by the top screws (B) and wire as detailed below. battery wires together (C).

Wiring

Having correctly identified the wiring from your existing light fitting, connect to the connection block inside the product in the following way:

Check that…

  • You have correctly identified the wires
  • The connections are light
  • No loose strands have been left out o1 the connection block.

Commissioning

  • Assemble the covers back onto the downlight and tighten to secure.
  • The ceiling surface must be flat and smooth to ensure a good Iii.
  • Push the spring clips upwards and Iii into the ceiling hole, then push the unit up until firmly in position, ensuring that no cables are trapped.
  • Ensure that the product is sitting properly in the hole.
  • Ensure all rubber seals are correctly in place.
  • Replace 1use or circuit breaker and switch on. Your light is now ready for use.
  • A Green LED should become lit to indicate that the product is charging.
  • Press TEST button to simulate power 1ailure and make sure emergency mode functioning correctly.
