Product Information

This product is a Constant Voltage LED Driver used for powering LED lights. It has a maximum load capacity of 10W and operates at 240V ~ 50Hz. The LED driver is double insulated and does not require connection to an Earth circuit. The product is manufactured by Saxby Lighting and the model number is 43810. The product can be recycled and should not be disposed of with household waste.

Usage Instructions

Commissioning: Before use, parallel the correct configuration of LED lights being fitted and ensure that the total wattage of these units does not exceed 10W.

Fitting: The LED driver can be fitted directly or plugged into an existing fitting. If fitting directly, ensure that the cables will reach the distances between the LED driver and each LED fitting. We recommend a maximum total cable length of 5.0m on the low voltage side. If plugging in, carefully note the position of each set of wires and the system to which they connect. Do not connect at this stage. Ensure that the LED driver can be accessed and that no loose strands have been left out of the connection.

Cleaning: We recommend cleaning the product with a soft dry cloth. Never use scourers, abrasives or chemical cleaners.

Recycling: The product can be recycled and should not be disposed of with household waste. Please recycle where facilities are available.

Safety Information: Please read the instruction leaflet carefully before installing or maintaining this product.
Install in accordance with IEE Wiring regulations and seek help from an electrician if needed. Ensure that no loose strands have been left out of the connection and that the negative terminal is correctly connected.

Warning: This LED driver is double insulated and must not be earthed.

Specification: The product layout should be planned carefully to ensure that the cables will reach the distances between the LED driver and each LED fitting. The mains cable should be the longer length in the layout.

Check: Check that no loose strands have been left out of the connection before using the LED driver.

Commissioning

  • This product should be connected to the fittings that are being powered in parallel configuration. The diagram below shows example fittings connected in the correct configuration.
  • Pay particular attention to the number of units being fitted and the total wattage of these units. We recommend a maximum load of 10W for the LED Driver.
  • Run the cable to the first LED fitting. Using an appropriate terminal block (not supplied) then connect the fitting (s) in the configuration shown.
  • Replace fuse or circuit breaker and switch on. Your LED driver is now ready for use.

Layout

  • Plan the desired layout of this fitting carefully, ensuring the cables will reach the distances between the LED driver and each LED fitting.
  • Ensure that there is adequate ventilation for the LED driver.
  • Avoid locating any cables in positions that would cause a hazard. Position cables away from areas where they may be at risk from being cut, trapped or damaged.
  • Cables that are to be in walls must be protected using suitable conduit or plastic trucking.
  • When laying the cables out be aware that voltage drop on the low voltage side can be a factor. Use a good quality low resistance cable and arrange the layout so that the mains cable is the longer length. We recommend that a maximum total cable lenath of 5.0m is used on the low voltage side.

Direct Wiring
Existing fittings must be completely removed before installation of a new product. Before removing the existing fitting, carefully note the position of each set of wires.

  • Position the LED driver next to the mains outlet that the system will connect to. Do not connect at this stage. Ensure that the LED driver can be accessed for any future maintenance requirements.
  • Remove the cover to access the wiring terminals. Pay particular attention as to which is mains (PRI) and which is the low voltage side (SEC).
  • Connect the low voltage wiring first. Connect the red wire to the positive terminal, and the black wire to the negative terminal.
  • Ensure that the connections are tight, and that no loose strands have been left out of the connection block.
  • Connect the mains supply wiring, ensuring that brown cable (Live) goes to the L connector and that the blue cable (Neutral) goes to the N connector.
  • Ensure that the connections are tight, and that no loose strands have been left out of the connection block.
  • Replace the cover ensuring that the cable is gripped properly.

Plug Wiring
This LED driver is double insulated and must not be earthed.

  • The LED Driver can also be fitted to a rewireable 3 pin plug fitted with a 3 amp fuse. Should the fuse require replacement, it must be replaced with a fuse rated at 3 amp and approved to BS1362.

  • If the mains plug is unsuitable for the socket outlet or is removed for any other reason, then the cut off plug should be disposed of safely to prevent the hazard of electric shock.

  • There is a danger of electric shock if the cut off plug is inserted into any 13 amp socket outlet.

  • The wires in the mains lead on this appliance are colored in accordance with the following code:
    Blue – Neutra
    l Brown – Live

  • Use a 3 Amp Fuse approved to BS1362.
