Basic Operating Principle

  1. Temperature controlling
The controller has 2 temperature controlling mode: refrigeration and heat (F29). Temperature controlling point is controlled by “setting temperature (F11, or press the “S” key for some time to set)” and “temperature difference (F12)”. In refrigeration mode, the controller begins to refrigerate when the temperature sensor is over “setting temperature + temperature difference”, and it stops refrigerating when the temperature is under “setting temperature - temperature difference”; In heat mode, the controller begins to heat when the temperature sensor is under “setting temperature - temperature difference”, and it stops heating when the temperature is over “setting temperature +temperature difference”.

  2. Compressor delay time
The compressor delay time is set by F21, for example, 3 minutes. The controller contains a “compressor halt calculagraph”, and it begins to time when compressor stops, the program first check the calculagraph before booting the compressor next time, the program will immediately boot the compressor if the calculagraph reach 3 minutes ,if the calculagraph doesn’t reach 3 minutes, it will boot again when the calculagraph reaches 3 minutes. Thus you can ensure that the boot alternation is over 3 minutes after halt, so it can prevent to breaking the compressor as a result of frequent boot. In addition, the controller doesn’t boot the compressor within 3 minutes after turning on the power supply, thus the compressor can also be protected in the state of power cut and then power on.

  3. External alarm
The controller can connect a switch value as external alarm source (Pin 4, 5), when the external alarm occurs, the controller stops, displays the alarm code “A11”. External alarm signal has 5 modes (F50): 0: without external alarm, 1: always open, unlocked, 2: always open, locked; 3: always closed, unlocked; 4: always closed, locked. “Always open” means in normal state, external alarm signal is open, if closed, the controller is alarm; “Always closed” is on the contrary. “Locked” means that when external alarm signal becomes normal, the controller is still in the alarm state, and it needs to press any key to resume.

  4. Password
In order to prevent irrespective persons from changing the parameters, you can set a password (F80), and if you have set a password, the controller will hint you to enter the password after you press the key “M” for 5 seconds, you must enter the correct password, and then you can set the parameters. If you don’t need the password, you can set F80 to “OFF”. Notice that you must remember the password, and if you forget the password, you can not enter the set state.

Ⅴ. Basic Working Principle

  • Current detection
The load current is detected through the built-in current transformer, so the three phase lines of the protected motor must pass through the three holes of the current transformer respectively.
    Overload protection
When the load current exceeds the rated current (parameter F11) and the duration reaches the set overload action time (parameter F13), the relay is disconnected and the power supply of the motor is cut off. That is, the overload action time is fixed.

  • Three-phase unbalanced protection
The three-phase unbalance rate is defined as: the absolute value of the difference between any phase current and the three-phase average current, take the maximum value and divide it by the three-phase average current, which is the three-phase unbalance rate.
When the three-phase unbalance rate is greater than the set three-phase unbalance action point (parameter F21), and the duration is greater than the three-phase unbalance action time (parameter F22), the relay is disconnected and the motor power is cut off.
When the load current is too small, three-phase unbalance detection is not performed to prevent malfunction in the state of motor power failure.

  • Phase loss protection
The lack of phase can be considered as a serious three-phase unbalance. When the three-phase unbalance rate is greater than 50%, it is considered to be lack of phase. The action time of phase loss is set by parameter F23. Generally, this time is shorter than the three-phase unbalance action time (parameter F22).

  • Automatic recovery
The purpose of the automatic recovery function is to have the opportunity to automatically resume work when a fault protection shutdown occurs, preventing unattended equipment from being shut down for a long time due to occasional failures. The behavior of automatic recovery can be set freely with parameters F51, F52, F53:For example, F51=3, F52=15, F53=60, the effect is: after a fault occurs, it will automatically recover (F52=15) after 15 minutes, so that it can be retried 3 times (F51=3), if the fault occurs repeatedly 3 times more than times, and the interval between repeated failures is shorter than 60 minutes (F53=60), it is locked in the shutdown state, and manual recovery is required (press the “” key or power off).
If the automatic recovery function is not required, just set F51 to 0.

  • Time relay function
If the time relay function is enabled by setting parameter F61, after the protector is powered on, the relay will not be pulled in immediately, but will be pulled in after a delay time. The delay time is set by parameter F61. Countdown display. Equivalent to a delayed start time relay function. F61=0 means to turn off the time relay function.

Ⅵ. Wiring diagram

TOOLOTS Industrial Chiller - Wiring Diagram 1

  1. As shown in the figure, the three phase wires of the motor pass through the three holes A, B, and C respectively.
  2. NO is the normally open point of the internal relay, NC is the normally closed point, and CO is the common point. When the protector is in the state of power-off, the internal relay is in the state of release, 1, 3 off, 2, 3 on. When the power is on, the relay immediately pulls in (if the time relay function is enabled, the delay pulls in, see parameter F61), 1, 3 on, 2, 3 off, and controls the motor power supply. When overload, phase loss, three-phase unbalance and other faults occur, the relay will be released and the motor power will be disconnected.

should be an error in the phase sequence. Please turn off the power first, then swap any two phase wires, and then turn on the power. If it still alarms, repeat the above steps until the phase alarm disappears.
System Failure| 1 Pump overload
2. Water tank is short of water| ⑴ Water pump scuffs after long time non- using.(Help start water pump)
⑵ Main motor lack water or water pump breaks down, change water pump.
A11| 1. refrigerant leak
2. There is no water in the water tank inside the machine
3. The water pump is clogged and the water is not circulating
4 Dirty condenser
5. The surrounding environment is not ventilated and the heat dissipation is not good (Air-cooled chiller)
6. Cooling        tower        water shortage (Water-cooled chiller)
7. Cooling tower or cooling water pump motor reverses (Water-cooled chiller)| 1. Ask professionals to find the leak point and fill it with refrigerant after welding. Then press the pressure controller restore button
2. add water to the tank.
3. Remove foreign objects from the pump.
4. Air-cooled chiller cleaning air condenser fins. Water-cooled chiller cleaning water-cooled condenser.
5. Move the machine to a well-ventilated area.
6. Add water to the cooling tower to ensure that the cooling tower is not short of water (Air-cooled chiller). and make the circulating water pump work normally.
7. Swap any two wires of the cooling tower motor
EE or -EE| Temperature sensor short circuit or Disconnect| Replace with new temperature sensor
