ECTIVE MSP 60 SUNDOCK Solar Module

ECTIVE SUNDOCK MSP

Product Information

The ECTIVE SUNDOCK MSP is a monocrystalline solar module that is designed to generate electricity from sunlight. It is available in three different models: MSP 60 SUNDOCK, MSP 100 SUNDOCK, and MSP 120 SUNDOCK. Each model has a different power rating, ranging from 100Wp to 180Wp. The ECTIVE SUNDOCK MSP has a nominal voltage of UMPP (V) and a nominal current of IMPP (A). The power tolerance of the module is +/- 3%. The module has a weight of 3.8kg to 9.5kg depending on the model. The module comes with a fuse that has a rating of 10A to 20A depending on the model.

Product Usage Instructions

The ECTIVE SUNDOCK MSP is designed to be used with a solar charge controller, a battery, and a load. The following are the operating instructions:

  1. Connect the solar charge controller to the solar module using the provided cables.
  2. Connect the battery to the solar charge controller using the provided cables.
  3. Connect the load to the solar charge controller using the provided cables.
  4. Ensure that the solar module is exposed to sunlight.
  5. The LED on the solar charge controller will turn red if there is an open circuit or if the load voltage is below 14V. The LED will turn off if the load voltage is above 14V.

Note: The ECTIVE SUNDOCK MSP should only be installed and used by qualified professionals who have experience working with electrical systems.

Operating Instructions

Setup and operation
Find a clear, sunlit area without hanging branches or other obstacles.
Unfold the module and make sure the solar panel faces in the direction of the sun. Adjusting the orientation of the solar module to face the sun maximizes the power output of the panel.
Connect the module to the appropriate inputs of a compatible solar charge controller. Connect the battery you want to charge, or any devices you want power, to the correct outputs of the charge controller.
Make sure all connections are secure and avoid any short circuits.

Compatible batteries and devices
Using an appropriate char controller, this solar module can be used to charge or provide power to the following batteries and devices:

  • sealed lead-acid batteries
  • colloidal lead-acid batteries
  • flooded lead-acid batteries
  • lithium batteries
  • mobile phones
  • tablets
  • navigation systems, etc.

Integrated USB ports
ECTIVE SUNDOCK solar modules feature two USB ports with an output of 5V and 2A, which you can use to power or charge small, compatible devices such mobile phones and digital cameras.

Indicator LED
The integrated LED provides information on the status of the solar module:

LED is green (charging) Open circuit: > 14V Load: > 14V / < 14V, >0.5mA
LED is red (not charging) Open circuit: < 14V Load: < 14V / < 14V, <0.5mA
LED flashing red Low light level.
LED flashing red/green Over current. (Over current protection: 9A)

Please note:
When the LED flashes, please disconnect the solar panel and DC load and check for any short circuits.
If the LED is red when the solar module is connected to a load, disconnect the load or place the solar panel in direct sunlight.

Cleaning the surface of the solar module
Remove any dust and dirt from the solar module’s surface using a soft brush and then wipe the surface clean with a damp cloth. Any guano should be removed as soon as possible to prevent a negative impact on the solar module’s performance.

Troubleshooting
If the battery is not being charged, even though the module is directly facing the sun, there may be an issue with the connections. Make sure the solar panel is correctly connected and no connections are reversed. Also, the solar charge controller may be damaged and may need to be replaced.
Always read and follow the instructions for any solar charge controller you connect to the solar module.

Recommended Solar Charge Controller

A solar charge controller is required in order to use this solar module to charge batteries or power devices.
For use with ECTIVE MSP solar modules, we recommend our ECTIVE MPPT SC 20 Silent solar charge controller. This high-quality, fully automatic device uses MPPT technology to maximize charging
efficieny: charging times and energy loss due to inefficiencies are reduced.

In addition to offering these advantages over traditional controllers, the ECTIVE MPPT SC 20 Silent is is exceptionally user-friendly. It requires no maintenance and offers various protective features to protect your batteries and equiment from damage. Learn more about our solar charge controllers on our website: ective.de
