ARREGUI ECO RESORT Electronic Safe with Knob - PRODUCT
FEATURES

OPENING THE SAFE FOR THE FIRST TIME AND INSTALLING THE BATTERIES
The safe is open by default. Remove the battery case lid located on the back of the door and put in four 1.5 V batteries (AA), being sure to line up the polarities correctly.
If the safe is closed when you receive it, by some exceptional circumstance, follow the instructions in the “Emergency Opening” section (points 1-3) before removing the battery case lid and putting in the batteries.
The safe will be activated by default when sent, with the lock in the “ON” position. If the safe is being used on a rental basis, you should request the corresponding key from the factory. If  you have the key, insert it into the power switch and turn it until the direction of the lock opening is lined up with the green dot (in any other position, the safe will be disconnected). Bear in mind that the lock will be in the “ON” position by default.

PROGRAMMING SUPERUSER CODE

The default superuser code for opening the safe is 111111 or 654321 (according to production batch, try both options). For your security, it´s important that you change it and set the code as you desire. Complete the following steps to change it:

  • With the door open, press “00” and the ”LOCK” button.
  • Type the old superuser code and then press the “LOCK” button.
  • Input any 6 digits you like as a new superuser code and press “LOCK”.
  • Retype your new superuser code and press the ”LOCK” button to confirm. A beep will indicate that the personal code has been accepted and saved.

CLOSING

To close the safe, push the door closed, input the code that you want (4 digits) and turn the knob counterclockwise.

OPENING

To open the safe, enter the same code used for closing, followed by the “LOCK” button. A green light will turn on, then you can turn the knob clockwise to open the door.
If you enter an incorrect code, you will hear 2 short loud beeps.
After 5 unsuccessful attempts, the lock will be blocked for 5 minutes, with the red LED flashing every 5 seconds until the blocking time is finished. (Note also that if any button is pressed during this time, the safe will produce a long beep).

EMERGENCY OPENING

If you forget the code for opening the safe, it can be opened using the superuser code, by following the aforementioned instructions (OPENING). If you can’t remember the codes and/ or the safe’s batteries have run out, you can use the emergency key to open the door.
Complete the following steps to use the emergency key:

  1. Remove the small plastic cover on the front panel by pressing the left side of the cover inward.
  2.  Insert the key into the keyhole and turn it counterclockwise.
  3. Turn the knob clockwise to open the safe.

If you use the emergency key to open the safe while it is still blocked, the safe will become operational again.
CAUTION: Do not keep the keys inside the safe itself.

LOW BATTERY INDICATOR

Each time that you use the safe, the electronic system will check the condition of the batteries.
If the batteries are low, the red light (at the top of the number panel) will warn you immediately. The safe needs 4 x 1.5 V alkaline batteries that are installed in the back of the door (see “EMERGENCY OPENING” section). Open the cover of the battery case and insert the batteries, being sure to line up the polarities correctly.
NOTE: if the batteries are low (Voltage < 4 V) and the safe is open, the door cannot be closed until the batteries have been replaced, for operational reasons.

INSTALLING THE SAFE

To reduce the risk of theft from the safe, it can be secured to the floor, to a wall or inside a cupboard. For your convenience, there are holes (8 mm diameter) on the back and in the bottom, so it can be fixed using anchor bolts.
CAUTION: the safe should be installed in a horizontal position.

MAINTENANCE

Check the condition of the battery compartment on a regular basis (every 6 months) to identify any possible signs of rust, sulphation, etc.
Grease/oil any mechanical moving parts, such as locks and bolts.
IMPORTANT
Recycling WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) is key as a safety measure in ensuring the health of people and the environment. Always use specific collection Centres established for returning and managing used electrical and electronic equipment. Before disposing of WEEE at a collection centre, remove the batteries and dispose of them separately so they may be managed correctly.
