C4 Smart Battery Charger
Before using the product, please read the following instruction manual carefully and keep it for future reference. When transferring the product to a third party, it is advisable to include the instructions.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Do not charge batteries that are not intended for this product. It may damage the battery and cause leakage, explosion, personal injury, and property damage.
- Use indoors or in a vehicle. Do not expose to rain or snow.
- Do not disassemble. Do not leave unattended.
- Do not drop or place heavy objects on the device.
- For use by adults.
- The charger can operate in a temperature range of 0C-40C.
- Keep away from heat sources and high temperature areas and do not expose to direct sunlight.
- The charger will heat up slightly, but it is normal.
- The batteries should be removed from the charger when it is not in use.
- Dispose of used batteries according to the guidelines in the manual.

PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS
- Compatible with four kinds of batteries, including Li-ion (4.2V, 4.35V), LiFeP04 (3.6V), Ni-MH/Ni-Cd (1.48V).

LCD DISPLAY
Super-large LCD display screen, real-time displaying of charging voltage,
charging current, internal resistance of battery, charging time (discharging
time), battery type, battery capacity, energy percentage and other data could
help the user intuitively know the charging status of the battery. If there is
no any operation occurred, the LCD backlight would darken within one minute.
Note: The parameters of charging voltage, internal resistance of battery
and charging current would be displayed in turn with an interval of 1,2 s.
C1-C4: Channel I , II, ill and IV (e.g.: When the feature C1 is displayed, it
means the information displayed currently is about the battery in Channel I).
Press the key in a short time to switch over the content to be displayed.
Internal resistance: Place a battery into any channel and then, the
charger could automatically measure the internal resistance of the battery.
The data measured would be updated in time when the internal resistance
changes during charging operation.
Current: It means the charging current of the battery placed in the
current channel.
Voltage: It means the charging voltage of the battery placed in the
current channel.
Battery capacity measuring against discharging:
“ ” means that the battery placed in the current channel is in the course of
charging.
“ ” means that the battery placed in the current channel is in the course of
discharging. See page 5 for details.
Energy percentage : It means the real-time energy percentage of the
battery placed in the current channel.
Battery type: It means the type of the battery placed in the current
channel.
Charging/discharging time: It means the cumulative charging/discharging
time of the battery placed in the current channel in this charging/discharging
operation.
Battery capacity:
“” means the energy charged into the battery in this charging
operation.
means the battery capacity is being measured against discharging (only
limited to No.4 channel).

Short circuit of battery
After the battery is placed rightly and proved normal, normal charging
operation commences.
HOW TO USE
- Connection with power supply.
- Place a battery into any channel and then, the charger could automatically distinguish the battery type and commences testing relevant battery parameters which would be displayed in a LCD.
- If the charger is not set up specially, the charger could automatically distribute the charging current based on the internal resistance of the battery.
- Press the key in a short time to switch over the information displayed respectively about one of the channels C1-C4. Meanwhile, the LCD backlight would be illumed.
The charger is unable to automatically distinguish LiFeP04 / 4.35V Li-ion
battery. The user shall select the battery type by manual operation. If there
is no manual setting made to a LiFeP04 battery, a standard charging would be
launched which is exclusively applicable to Li-ion 4.2V battery, which would
means a risk of explosion. The charger is only compatible with lithium-ion
battery, IMR, INR, ICR, lithium iron phosphate battery (LiFeP04 battery) and
Ni-MH/Ni-Cd batteries.
Its charging aiming at the battery beyond those mentioned above may cause
explosion, battery breakage or leakage, personal injury or property loss.
Automatic charging stop after full charge
After full capacity is achieved, the word would be displayed in the LCD and it
means that the charger had automatically stopped charging because overcharging
would shorten the normal service life of the battery.
Note: When a Ni-MH battery which is charged fully and also indicated by
the word Full accordingly is taken down from the charger and then placed into
the same charger again soon after, if an energy percentage of 70% and even
lower is shown, it is normal because of the characteristic of the Ni-MH
battery.
Setting of battery type
Place the battery into any channel and then click the key twice to flash
Battery type. And then press the key for a short time to circularly display
the battery type and select to confirm the battery type wanted. An automatic
exit would be made 5 s after the above selection. Alternatively, press the key
for a relatively long time to exit.
Setting of charging current
- Place a battery into any channel.
- Press the key for relatively long time until the feature is flashed in the LCD. And then press the key for a short time to select the charging current. An automatic exit would be achieved 5 s after the above selection. Alternatively, press the key for a relatively long time to exit.

Default current: The current symbol “ A ” flashing means that the charger
could automatically distribute the charging current based on the internal
resistance of the battery.
Synchronous four-channel setting
Press the key for relatively long time until all the channel symbols flash,
which means an access to a All Selected mode. And the ALL Selected mode would
be exited if there is no operation launched in 5s after the above access.
- Under the All Selected mode, a charging current may be set up synchrony ugly for four channels by pressing the key for relatively long time.
- Under the All Selected mode, battery type may be selected synchronously for four channels by clicking the key twice.
Note: Under the All Selected mode, a setting is only effective to such a channel as contains a battery. It is impossible to select battery type for a Ni-MH/Ni-Cd battery.
Setting of battery capacity measuring against discharging(only limited to No.4
channel)
After the function of discharging is activated, the charger would firstly
charge the battery to full capacity and the launch a constant current
discharging. Then, real time calculate the battery capacity and save the data
about battery capacity. After discharging, the battery would be charged again
until its full capacity and then the charging stops.
Setting:
- Place a battery into No.4 channel.
- Synchronously press the keys and for a relatively long time until me feature flashes.
- Press the key for a short time to select opening or closing the function of battery discharging.
- Press the key for relatively long time to confirm setting and exit. And the setting would be confirmed and the exit would be activated if there is no operation to press the key made within 5 s.
When the icon is displayed, it means that the function to measure battery
capacity is activated.
When the icon disappears, it means that the function to measure battery
capacity is inactivated.
Setting of discharging current (only limited to No.4 channel)
At the default status, the charger could automatically select an optimal
discharging current based on battery characteristics.
Setting:
- When the battery placed in No.4 channel is being discharging (while the icon is flashing)
- Press the keys for a relatively long time until the feature mashes in the LCD.
- Then press the key or a short time to select a discharging current which may be between 0.1 A and 0.4 A.
- Press the keys for a relatively long time to confirm the current. And the setting would be confirmed and the exit would be activated if there is no operation to press the key made within 5 s.
Function of battery activation
The charger has a function to activate a lithium battery, equipped with a
battery protection circuit, which is of over discharge. After a battery is
placed, the charger could test the battery and is automatically activated. If
the charger is unable to activate the battery, the battery would be judged
damaged. An prompt feature would be displayed at the relevant channel.
Meanwhile, the charging operation would be ceased.
Function of repair of lithium battery
If a lithium battery is at 0V due to over discharge, the charger could repair
the battery which is over-discharged by launching a trickle charge which could
make the battery voltage slowly up. After repair completion, a normal
charging mode would be available. If the battery voltage doesn’t rise after
long time of charging, the charger would judge the battery damaged. An prompt
feature would be displayed at the relevant channel. Meanwhile, the charging
operation would be ceased.
High-sensitivity-b. full capacity confirmation function to achieve real full
capacity for Ni-MH/Ni-Cd batteries
Addition of high-sensitivity- full capacity confirmation function
respectively aiming at Ni-MH and Ni-Cd batteries could more preciously test
the battery status and more accurately judge the time to cease the charging
so that a Ni-MH battery and a Ni-Cd battery could receive max. charging energy
and meanwhile overcharging could be avoided.
