INTRO / FEATURES

OSD DAC Series: DAC-XA100 amplifier makes a great choice for powering speakers in a stereo or multi-room sound system. This versatile amp’s 24/192 USD  Audio and dual line-level inputs let you enjoy sound from one main music source plus and additional “local” audio sources, switching automatically between  them.
You can connect your TV as the primary source feeding the main input. Turn on the TV and the XA100 turns itself on and sends the music to your speakers. Then,  if you connect another music source like a Bluetooth player, Digital Audio device or portable music player to the secondary local “Interrupt” or USB input, the  amp will switch to that source whenever it senses an incoming music signal. When the other source stops playing, the XA100 will automatically switch back to the  TV. There’s no need to manually switch inputs.
The 24/192 Digital Stereo Power Amplifier OSD Audio DAC-XA100 is designed for dedicated stereo & distributed audio applications. It offers many features including A & B speaker outputs. USB Type A 24/194 HD Audio input as well as RCA Line In, and Interrupt Line In inputs. It can also be configured for Stereo  or Bridged output. 50 watts per channel into 8 ohms (10-30,000 Hz) at 1% THD with 2 channels driven 150 watts when bridged into a single 8-ohm load 60 watts into 4 ohms

REAR PANEL

OSD AUDIO DAC XA100 Digital Stereo Amplifier - REAR
PANEL

  1. Main Input/Output: The DAC-X-A100 Main Input consists of stereo RCA jacks and are used as the amplifier’s primary audio inputs. The Main Output also consists of stereo RCA jacks and passthrough the DAC-X-A100’s Main Input audio signal to another amplifier.
  2. Interrupting Line Input: The Interrupting Inputs consists of stereo RCA Jacks, plus the USB Digital Audio input. This input can be used if a second source is desired and takes over when signal is present and has at least a 5mV level. When there is no signal, or a signal with less than 5mV level, the amp switches back to Main input after a brief delay.
  3. The amplifier features an USB Digital input that will accept 2ch PCM audio signals from a PC or other digital device and can process up to 24 Bit-Depth/192 Khz sampling frequency.
  4. Speaker A/B Terminals: The DAC-XA100 is fitted with binding-post terminals for A & B speaker connection for powering up to two pairs of speakers. The minimum impedance for each speaker is 4-ohm in Stereo mode and 8-ohm in Bridged mode. The binding post terminals will accept bare wire (up to 10AWG), pin-connectors, and banana plugs (single only).
  5. Trigger In/Out: The 12V trigger input and output allow the DAC-XA100 to be powered on by other electronics or to power on other electronics via a 3.5mm minijack cable. The trigger input can operate with voltages between 3 and 20VDC.
  6. Power Cord: The digital stereo power amplifier features a non-detachable 6’ AC power cord terminated by a 2-prong connector.
  7. Bass & Treble: Bass (100Hz) & Treble (10kHz) can be adjusted from -12dB to + 12dB.
  8. Mode Select (Stereo or Bridged): Select Stereo mode for connecting one or two pair of loudspeakers, when set to Bridged mode, the XA100 becomes a single channel mono amplifier for powering one speaker. Only the Right audio input is used during bridged mode. Only one zone (A or B) can be bridged; not both.
  9. Power Mode: Set the Auto On switch to Normal for manual power on/off. Set the Auto switch to Auto for signal sensing; the amp will turn on when audio signal (>5mV) is detected at the inputs. The front-panel power switch must be in the ON position (pushed in) for the Auto On feature to operate. Or select 12V Trigger which allows the XA100 to be powered on by other electronic component or to power on other electronics via a 3.5 minijack cable (between 3-20VDC).
  10. Unstitched Power outlet for attaching other devices that require less than 400WOSD AUDIO DAC XA100 Digital Stereo Amplifier - FRONT PANEL
  11. Power Switch: The front-panel Power Switch turns the XA100 on or off. A red LED indicates connection to AC power while in standby mode and turns green indicating audio signal is present.
  12. Volume Control: This adjusts amplifier volume.
  13. A/B Speaker Selector: You can select Speakers A, Speakers B, or Both for playback.
  14. Balance: The Balance control lets you fade the amplifier’s speaker output between the Right & Left channels.

SETUP

Set Rear Controls First

  1. Mode – Either Stereo or Bridge

  2. Do you want to power the amp via the front panel on/off switch or use a 12-volt trigger or have the amp turn on when a signal is present? Select your choice  on the rear panel. Note: If you choose Trigger or Auto, the front panel on/off switch must be ON.
Note: Only the digital input or the RCA Line-Level input should be used at one time. Example: If you use a digital input and the RCA, they will both be heard.

  3. Now connect Speakers and Sources.

  4. Then connect the power cord.

  5. Make sure the volume control on the front panel is turned down before turning the amp on.

  6. Turn the amp on using the front panel on/off switch. If you are using a trigger, make sure it is on, if you are using auto, make sure there is a signal playing.

  7. Adjust the volume to the desired level.

  8. Finally, adjust the tone controls on the rear panel to suit the acoustics of the room or your personal preference.
