OSD Audio Pre 1 High Definition Preamplifier

Introduction

The Pre-1 from OSD Audio is a special preamplifier that completes the minute audio jobs that elevate regular audio source management to a higher level. A full home theatre surround sound experience is made possible with the Pre-1. It provides a better aural environment by enabling the ear to hear every detail. For the best-powered preamp for a home recording or stereo system, a low-frequency filter should have a response of 5Hz–30kHz +0–3dB. The microphone jack output, input selector, adjustable mic level control, and mute button are all located on the front panel. Midrange, treble, loudness, and balance are all controlled by the bass. In order to increase the low-level output from microphones, a preamp is a crucial component of music recording. When compared to, it offers a better recording signal.

FAQs

It is possible to amplify or equalizer the output earphones of one old tv to couple my Yamaha r-s700 (3.5mm to rca connect)****

You could equalize (Bass/Midrange/Treble/Loudness/Balance Control) coming in from the TV, and then output from the Pre-1 to input of your choice on the Yamaha receiver.

Are the rack ears removable?****

No. AND the unit is not 1 unit high or 2 units high. It’s somewhere in the middle and as such, there will always be a space between this preamp and anything mounted above. Not a good look.

Can I hook it up 2 a Samsung vintage amplifier?****

I don’t see why you couldn’t. The outputs include RCAs. I have it hooked up to a vintage Peavey 500, very clean sound.

How would this work with a Carver M1.5 amplifier?****

Yes, this will work with it. Keep in mind this pre-amp is more entry level, not necessarily on the same level as the Carver amp.

Is this item available for the remote control on/off?****

There is no manual power button; there is no relay on the back or remote. But I just leave it on as it uses little power when not in use.

Can I hook it up 2 a Samsung vintage receiver?****

Not to a receiver, it won’t have a purpose, this preamp is designed to be used with an amp.

What is the output impedance? Not the tape or phono that is in the manual but the final output that goes to an amp.****

on the last page of the “manual,” it says that the Pre Output (Level/Impedance) is 1.5 V/600 Ohms.

Will this play with a Hafler 9000 amp and mc cartridge?****

Can play with any power amplifier with no more than two channels. Will not work as a surround sound. Only have a video connection.

Can I hook it up 2 a Samsung vintage receiver?****

Not to a receiver, it won’t have a purpose, this preamp is designed to be used with an amp.

What’s made in****

It’s made in China. At this price, it’s impossible to find Anything made elsewhere.

is the power requirement for 110-230 50/60 Hz?****

Power Requirements are switchable on the back between AC 120Volts 60Hz and 220Volts 50Hz. See the Manual for confirmation. Also, read the answer to your question in the “Customer Questions and Answers” associated with the item.

how long is the front panel? In inches perhaps how long does it stretch across? and how deep it extend to the back****

It is standard rack size, 19″ wide to the brackets.

How do you connect the preamp to a receiver?****

Connect the white and red output of the preamp marked “Output” to any audio input on your receiver. CD, DVD, etc.

Will this preamp act as a volume-leveling device? I want to reduce the dynamic range on stereo blu ray playback.****

yes, it has volume control.

The bad volume control has me on the fence about purchasing this. Can you just use the mute button to get better volume control at lower volumes?****

Yes, the mute button is very much suited for this. The sound quality has a compressed sound and is not up to my standards so I replaced the unit with an old used onkyo preamp I got from eBay.
