For keeping the function of the battery, you’d better comprehensively charge the product in a place with sufficient sunlight for once a month.
  • The charging time and charging efficiency of the solar panel may be affected by the weather and the installation position. Considering the conversion rate of solar power generation, if the product is used in good sunny weather conditions, it will gain higher charging efficiency and effectiveness by the solar panel and its battery.
  • When there’s sunlight and other lights and if the power switch is OFF, the LED lamp will not be lightened in day and night time.
  • The solar lamp should be installed in the place with sufficient sun light to ensure the solar panel will absorb sunlight sufficiently, so that the working hours of the solar lamp will be prolonged.

Troubleshooting

Light does not turn on?

  • The solar panel is clean (if not, please clean it).
  • The solar cell was mounted in a way that it is able to receive as much as possible direct sunlight during the day.
  • The battery is sufficiently charged (if not, leave for 1~2 sunny days charging in the OFF position).

Light flashes strange or low light?

  • Weak battery: please charge the lamp again for 1~2 sunny days (or 3~4  “Ordinary” days) in the OFF position.

Note: Non-professionals, please do not disassemble the lamp yourself!

What is direct sunlight?
Direct sunlight means that the outdoor sunlight is directly hitting the solar panel. For example, if you were standing outside under the sun with nothing obstructing you and the sun, then you would be in direct sunlight. If you were standing inside, you would be getting indirect sunlight but no direct rays from the sun. Solar panels always need direct sunlight to charge. If in doubt, think of it this way; if you were FlinQ and you were able to directly see the sun, then you would be in direct sunlight!

It’s cloudy, will my light still charge?
Yes, but it will charge at a slower rate than on a bright, clear day. As your lamp charges via the red and violet frequencies of visible light, the charging time will vary based on the UV index or overcast skies. Generally speaking, the higher the UV index, the faster the charge.

Charge via USB or the solar panel?
Speed! Charging via USB is 6x faster than via solar due to the input power. Whether charging via solar or USB however, the outcome remains the same – a full battery charge. Our advice is to charge via solar for a natural source of power, but if you’re in a hurry, charge via USB.

Can my light be left outside?
Yes! In fact, our products love being outside in the open. FlinQ is durable and waterproof. This means you don’t need to take cover when it rains on your ride.

Will my light remain in the mount with all the bumps?
Yes! Our Bike Light connects to the mounts via industrial-strength, and was built to withstand extreme vibrations and bumps.

Do the straps fit around thicker handlebars or posts?
Our adjustable silicone strap allows our bike light to be fixed to any standard handlebar dimension and post. Our strap can comfortably fit around several diameters range.

Cleaning the device

  • Make sure the solar panel is kept dust free and clean. Clean it regularly with a dry cloth and with warm, soapy water. Dirty solar panels may not fully charge the battery. This can lead to premature aging of the battery and may result in unreliable operation of the device.
  • Please do not immerse the main unit in water, it is not waterproof!
  • Wipe gently with a clean soft cloth (microfiber) dampened with water or a mild detergent.
  • Do not use a strong irritant lotion such as gasoline, alcohol or rubber water.
