HEATING MAT INSTALLATION PROJECT
Preparation of the heating mat installation design greatly facilitates the installation of underfloor heating and allows the heating mat to be adapted to the prevailing conditions in the room. The prepared project is also an important document for the user during the operation of the heating mat. In the design of the heating mat installation, draw the mat on the floor, mark the installation site for the installation box with the power supply line, the floor sensor and the heating mat power lines. On the basis of the completed project, use chalk or pencil to draw all elements of the planned installation in the room.
Elements of the heating system:

PREPARATION OF THE ROOM FOR INSTALLATION
In the designated place according to the design, use a drill or hole saw to
drill a hole for the Ø 60 installation box. Cut an installation channel in the
wall and floor to accommodate the conduit for the floor temperature sensor and
the conduit for the heating mat power wires. In the place of the installation
box, lead the electric lines powering the heating mat. The power cord cross-
section is selected by a licensed electrician or designer.
A. Installation channel
Embed the conduit of the floor sensor in the installation channel. Insert the
floor sensor into the conduit up to the end of the covered tube.
Place the conduit with the floor temperature sensor inside the installation
box.
Insert the main power supply line and the conduit with the floor temperature
sensor into the installation box. Cut the end of the tube to an appropriate
length for the installation of the thermostat.
PLACING THE HEATING MAT ON THE FLOOR
The heating mat is assembled on a self-adhesive glass fiber mesh. Before
sticking, the heating mat should be straightened. The heating mat must be
evenly glued to the prepared floor in accordance with the previously prepared
installation design.
The floor temperature sensor, installed in the conduit, must be positioned
equidistant between two adjacent sections of the heating mat cable.
IF THE HEATING MAT NEEDS TO BE WRAPPED ON THE FLOOR, THIS CAN BE DONE IN THREE
WAYS:
LAYING A HEATING MAT ON THE FLOOR
After laying the heating mat, insert the power cables of the heating mat into
the conduit. Place the conduit with the power cord in the previously prepared
installation channel and put it into the installation box. Cut the conduit
with the power cord to a suitable length for the correct installation of the
temperature controller.
Perform a control measurement of the heating mat resistance.
SEALING THE MAT
Apply an evenly flexible adhesive mortar intended for underfloor heating with
a plastic trowel on a properly distributed heating mat. The mortar should be
spread very carefully over the entire surface, carefully covering the heating
cables. Properly glued heating mat should be left to dry for 24 hours. After
24h, check the resistance of the heating mat again.
LAYING A HEATING MAT ON THE FLOOR
After laying the heating mat, insert the power cables of the heating mat into
the conduit. Place the conduit with the power cord in the previously prepared
installation channel and put it into the installation box. Cut the conduit
with the power cord to a suitable length for the correct installation of the
temperature controller
After laying the tiles and hardening the glue, make the final measurement of
the resistance of the heating mat. Write down the measurement result in the
warranty card.
CONNECTING THE HEATING MAT TO THE THERMOSTAT
Install the temperature controller in the prepared installation box with the
wires for powering the heating mat, the power line wires and the wire from the
floor temperature sensor. Install the thermostat in accordance with the
instructions provided by the thermostat manufacturer.
THE HEATING MATE CAN BE CONNECTED TO THE THERMOSTAT IN TWO WAYS:
A GROUND WIRE CONNECTED TO THE THERMOSTAT
B GROUND WIRE OUTSIDE THE THERMOSTAT
FIRST START OF THE HEATING
After 14 days from the installation of the tiles, the underfloor heating can
be started, provided that a constant temperature of min. 18°C. If the room
temperature was below 18°C, the first heating start period will be extended.
The first set temperature of the floor in the heating process should not
exceed 19 degrees, this is due to the need to loosen the adhesive layer.
Within three days, this temperature can be gradually increased to a maximum
temperature of 25°C.
