PNI AT188 Alcohol Tester

Foreword

PNI AT188 is a portable alcohol tester with LCD screen, which emits a sound and light signal when the breath alcohol concentration exceeds the preset alarm point.

Warnings

  • Do not hit or shake the device.
  • The test result may be inaccurate if you use the device with discharged batteries.
  • For the best accuracy, we recommend that you perform the test at least 15 minutes after consuming alcohol.
  • After a long period of inactivity, the result of the first test may be inaccurate.
  • We recommend one minute break between tests or blow fresh air into the tester before the next test.
  • Do not blow cigarette smoke into the tester.
  • To clean the device, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use solvents, detergents or corrosive substances to clean the device.

Operation Mode

  1. Insert 2 AA 1.5V alkaline batteries into the device

  2. Install a mouthpiece in the dedicated hole.

  3. Turn on the device by pressing the multifunction button for about 2 seconds.

  4. The device will beep, the LCD screen will light up, and the indicator light will turn blue.

  5. The device will start the countdown from 20 to 0 seconds, the time required to heat the sensor.
    Note: do not start blowing until the countdown has ended.

  6. When the “blo” symbol appears on the screen, start blowing into the mouthpiece continuously and constantly.
    Note: while blowing, if the air flow is intermittent, the “rP” error will appear on the screen.

  7. The “C” symbol will appear on the screen.

  8. Keep blowing until the device emits 3 short sounds.

  9. After a few seconds, the result will be displayed on the screen.

  10. If the test result is below the alarm limit, the indicator light will turn green.
    If the test result is above the alarm limit, the indicator light will turn red and the device will beep.

Notes:
You can change the unit of measure by briefly pressing the multifunction button.
To save the test result, long press the same button.
If the device is not used for a while, it will turn off automatically.

Troubleshooting
