SECURITY MEASURES

In order to avoid situations that are dangerous to life and health, as well as premature failure of the device, it is necessary to strictly observe the following conditions:

  • Read this manual carefully before putting the device into oper-ation.
  • Keep this manual.
  • Make sure that the voltage indicated on the device corresponds to the voltage in the power supply network. Do not use adapters to avoid fire.
  • It is forbidden to use accessories and spare parts from other manufacturers. If such parts are used, the manufacturer’s warranty is void. Replacement of lamps with lamps of other manufacturers is allowed, provided that the installed lamps will not differ in type, form factor, or dimensions and will not exceed the power of the original lamps installed by the manufacturer.
  • Do not use the appliance if the power cord, plug and other parts of the appliance are damaged.
  • If the power cord is damaged, its replacement, in order to avoid danger, must be carried out by the manufacturer, the service department or similar qualified personnel.
  • During the first use, a slight unpleasant odor may appear (which will disappear after several uses), which is explained by the possible presence of residues of oils and other substances on the internal surfaces.
  • The device must be installed so that its lower surface is at least 65 cm from the heating plane of the electric furnace or 75 cm from the heating plane of the gas furnace.
  • Be careful when working simultaneously with the hood and burner (hearth). The hood sucks in air along with oxygen, which is needed for the Gorenje process.
  • The negative pressure in the room should not exceed 4Pa (4×10-5 bar). For reliable and safe operation, ventilation of the room should be provided.
  • Do not check the condition of the filters while the device is running.
  • Do not touch the lamp or adjacent areas during the operation of the lighting system or immediately after it is turned off.
  • To avoid overloading the power supply, do not use this device at the same time with energy-intensive devices.
  • The device is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or lack of life experience or knowledge, unless they are supervised or instructed to use the device by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to prevent playing with the device.
  • If smoke appears, turn off the appliance immediately and disconnect it from the mains.
  • It is forbidden to cook dishes on an open flame under the appli-ance. Avoid an open flame, as it damages the filters and can lead to a fire. Do not allow a flare flame to appear under the appliance. The flame of the burners should always be covered with dishes.
  • Do not use the appliance outdoors.
  • BE CAREFUL! The surface of the device may heat up during its op-eration.
  • If the connecting pipe consists of two or more parts, then the upper part should be located on top of the lower part. Do not connect the discharge from the appliance to the hot air circulation channel or to the channel used to remove smoke from devices powered by energy other than electrical.
  • Before starting to assemble the device, disconnect the grease filter to facilitate its installation.
  • If there is no plug on the cable, install a plug designed to work with the load indicated on the characteristics table. If the device is equipped with a plug, then install the device in such a way that the plug is accessible.
  • In the case of direct connection to the power grid, a multi-pole switch with a contact gap of at least 3 mm, designed for the desired load and meeting current standards, must be placed between the device and the network.

WORKING PROCEDURE

Before installing the hood, make sure that:

  • the distance from the bottom surface of the hood is at least 65 cm from the heating plane of the electric oven or 75 cm from the heating plane of the gas oven;
  • the length of the electric cord is enough to connect the hood to the mains;
  •  nothing will damage the electric cord during the further oper-ation;
  • there is a possibility of air outlet equipment.
    Before starting to assemble the device, disconnect the grease filter to facilitate its installation. The hood removes the smoke into the atmosphere through the outer wall of the building or through an existing ventilation shaft. For this purpose, it is necessary to purchase a sliding non-flammable chimney pipe, that corresponds to the current regulations, and connect it with a flange. The hood can be mounted in several ways.

MOUNTING THE HOOD TO THE WALL

Measure the distance on the wall for mounting the hood. Drill two holes with a diameter of 8 mm, as shown in picture 1. Make sure that the anchors and screws, which are included in the delivery package, are suitable for the type of wall on which the hood will be mounted. Install the anchors, and tighten the screws. Remove the protective film from the hood, then install the hood on the screws.
There are 2 holes with a diameter of 6 mm on the back panel of the hood. Fix the hood to the wall with protective screws, using these holes. Install the air duct valve petals on the top of the hood. Install the backflow valve flaps on the top of the exhaust hood.

MOUNTING THE HOOD UNDER AN OVERHEAD CABINET
ATTENTION! You will have to drill an air duct opening in the cabinet bottom. The second opening can be made either in the top side or in the back side of the cabinet, depending on how the air exhaust is arranged. You may use any type of dust tubing, both flexible and rigid, for air exhaust through the cabinet.
Measure and mark the distances required for exhaust hood mounting on the cabinet bottom.
Drill four 4-mm holes a shown in Figure 2. Install the backflow valve flaps on the top of the exhaust hood. Remove the protective film from the exhaust hood and screw the hood to the cabinet.

MOUNTING THE HOOD INSIDE AN OVERHEAD CABINET
ATTENTION! You will have to drill an air duct opening in the shelf inside the cabinet. The second opening can be made either in the top side or in the back side of the cabinet, depending on how the air exhaust is arranged. You may use any type of dust tubing, both flexible and rigid, for air exhaust through the cabinet.
Use the mounting template in order to exactly cut the openings in the shelf required for the hood itself, the air duct and the power cable. In this case the exhaust hood is mounted in the same way as when the hood is installed under the cabinet, except that the parts are screwed to a shelf inside the cabinet instead of the cabinet bottom. Measure the distances required for hood installation on the cabinet shelf. Note that the back side of the exhaust hood should under no circumstances touch the back wall of the cabinet.

There should be a minimum distance of 10 cm between the back side of the hood and the back wall of the cabinet.
Drill four 6-mm holes into the cabinet shelf. Install the backflow valve flaps on the top of the hood. Remove the protective film from the hood and screw it to the cabinet. The exhaust hood can also be mounted on the shelf guide rails inside the cabinet, but such installation methods may require the intervention of a furniture assembly technician and the purchase of additional materials.

5. CARE OF THE DEVICE
Disconnect the power cord from the mains and allow the engine to cool down. Remove the anti-fat aluminum filters. Rinse them in warm soapy water, then dry them and put them in the hood. This procedure should be performed at least once a month. A filter contaminated with grease is:

  • Risk of fire. Oil stuck on the filter is flammable and can cause a fire.
  • Decrease in the efficiency of air drainage.
  • Risk of failure of the device. Contaminated filters do not provide sufficient air conductivity, which can cause engine overload.

Wash the hood regularly, removing all food residues, fat and other contaminants. Wipe the outer surface only with a damp soft cloth with the addition of detergent.
Storage and operation of the hood should be carried out in dry heated rooms at a temperature not lower than + 5 °C and a relative humidity of not more than 80%.
Transportation of the product should be carried out in accordance with the marking indicated on the package. After transporting the hood in conditions of low temperature, it is allowed to use the device only after two hours of its stay in a warm room.
We apologize if the scope of delivery, dimensions, description, technical characteristics, appearance or color of the product turned out to be inaccurate. The manufacturer reserves the right to change these parameters without prior notice, as a result of which, at the time of purchase of a particular product, they may differ from those indicated earlier.

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS AND WAYS TO FIX THEM

  • Before contacting the service center, check the following: Make sure that the hood is connected to the mains. Check the mains voltage.
  • By external inspection, check the integrity of the elements of the electrical circuit, in case of malfunction of any element, contact customer service.
    Repairs should only be carried out by qualified service center personnel! If your lamp has burned out, you can replace it yourself. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Turn off the appliance and disconnect it from the mains.
  2. Remove the lamp cover by unscrewing the 2 screws.
  3. Remove the lamp.
  4. Replace the lamp with a new one with a base of the same standard.
