WyreStorm SP-0108-SCL 4K60 1:8 HDMI Splitter
Product Information
The 4K60 1:8 HDMI Splitter SP-0108-SCL is a device that allows you to split a single HDMI input into eight outputs. It supports resolutions up to 4K at 60Hz with 4:4:4 chroma subsampling and HDR. The device comes with a DC 12V power supply, two 3-pin terminal blocks, two wall mounting brackets with screws, and a quickstart guide. It also has EDID management capabilities, including copy mode, fixed mode, and customized mode. The device is covered by a five-year limited product warranty from WyreStorm Technologies ProAV Corporation.
Product Usage
- Read through the entire quickstart guide before beginning the installation process.
- Run and terminate all wiring for the installation before making connections to the splitter.
- The device comes with a DC 12V power supply that should be connected to the splitter.
- The splitter has one HDMI input and eight HDMI outputs. Connect your UHD source device to the HDMI input port of the splitter using an HDMI cable.
- Connect your UHD displays to the HDMI output ports of the splitter using HDMI cables.
- If you need to increase the HDMI signal transmission distance, use WyreStorm’s Hybrid Active Optical cables.
- If you need to connect an analog audio device, use a 3-pin terminal block to connect the left signal, ground, and right signal pins of the WyreStorm connector to the corresponding pins of the third-party device.
- If you need to connect an RS-232 device, use a 3-pin terminal block to connect the TX, RX, and ground pins of the WyreStorm connector to the corresponding pins of the third-party device. The device has EDID management capabilities. Use the 4-pin DIP switch to select the desired EDID mode, including copy mode, fixed mode, and customized mode. Refer to the documentation for the connected device for pin functionality to ensure that the correct connections can be made.

- While this product supports CEC, WyreStorm cannot guarantee compatibility with all forms of CEC communication.

Troubleshooting
No or Poor Quality Picture (snow or noisy image)
- Verify that power is being supplied to the device.
- Verify that all HDMI connections are not loose and are functioning properly.
- Verify that the output resolution of the source and display is supported by this device.
- Configure EDID Settings to a lower resolution.
- If transmitting 4K, verify that the HDMI cables used are 4K rated.
No or Intermittent 3rd party Device Control
- Verify that the RS-232 cables are properly terminated.
Troubleshooting Tips
- WyreStorm recommends using a cable tester or connecting the cable to other devices to verify functionality.
Warranty Information

Wiring and Connections
WyreStorm recommends that all wiring for the installation is run and terminated prior to making connections to the switcher. Read through this section in its entirety before running or terminating any wires to ensure proper operation and to avoid damaging the equipment
IMPORTANT! Wiring Guidelines
- The use of patch panels, wall plates, cable transmitters, kinks in cables, and electrical or environmental interference will have an adverse effect on signal transmission which may limit performance. Steps should be taken to minimize or remove these factors completely during installation for best results.
- WyreStorm recommends using pre-terminated HDMI cables due to the complexity of these connector types. Using pre-terminated cables will ensure that these connections are accurate and will not interfere with the performance of the product.
Communication Connections
3-Pin Analog Audio
Note : HDMI signal transmission distance can be increased to up to 50m/164ft by using WyreStorm’s Hybrid Active Optical cables.
RS-232 Wiring
The SP-0108-SCL uses a 3-pin RS-232 with no hardware flow control. Most
control systems and computers are DTE where pin 2 is RX, this can vary from
device to device. Refer to the documentation for the connected device for pin
functionally to ensure that the correct connections can be made.
EDID Management
This device equips a 4-pin DIP switch for EDID management, including copy mode, fixed mode and customized mode. The DIP Switch settings and the corresponding functions are as follows:

Downscaler Settings
Downscaler dipswitches 1-8 correspond to HDMI outputs 1-8 respectively.
- Up Position : The down scaler of the corresponding output is off.
- Down Position : The down scaler of the corresponding output is on (default).
