These instructions are intended for installers of PA system with adequate technical knowledge. Please read the instructions carefully prior to installation and keep them for later reference.

Applications

This exciter is glued onto a surface capable of vibrating (e. g. table plate, shelf, drywall panel, ceiling panel or glass pane) so that the surface serves as a kind of speaker cone. In contrast to conventional speakers, this exciter primarily excites bend­ ing waves on the surface to provide a wider radiation. Sound quality and volume depend on the material properties and the  dimensions of the mounting surface.

  • The product is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it against dripping water, splash water and high air humidity. The admissible ambient temperature range is 0 – 40 °C.
  • For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never use water or chemicals.
  • No guarantee claims for the product and no liability for any resulting personal damage or material damage will be accepted if the product is not correctly used, if it is overloaded or if it is not repaired in an expert way.

Installation

  1. Before installing the exciter, make a test run to determine the exciter position for the best sound reproduction.
  2. To install EX­40/…, remove the protective film and then glue the exciter onto a clean, flat surface.
  3. Switch off the amplifier prior to connecting the exciter.
  4. Connect the connections of EX­40 /… to a speaker out­ put of the amplifier. When connecting multiple exciters to a single output, make sure that they have the same polarity and are not below the minimum load impedance of the output.

Note: Once the exciter has been attached to a surface, use a knife or wire, for example, to detach the exciter. Never pull the housing; the exciter may be damaged.
