Important safeguards

  • The instruction manual contains important operating and maintenance instructions. For your safety, it is necessary to refer to the manual. Keep the manual for future use.
  • Do not hit or drop the unit.
  • Do not expose the unit to vibration, direct sunlight, too high or low temperatures or humidity.
  • Do not disassemble the unit yourselves. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.
    All the illustrations in this manual are schematic images, which may differ from actual objects.

Power supply

  • The unit operates on an internal rechargeable Li-ion battery and 220V mains via a DC adapter (not included).
  • The battery can be recharged with the provided USB charging cable. Before first plugging the appliance check that voltage indicated on the rating label corresponds to the mains voltage in your home.
  • Insert the charging cable into the DC IN socket on the unit.
  • Connect the charging cable to the power adapter (not included). Plug the adapter to the power source.
  • The LED charge indicator will light on when the unit is charging. Once the charging is complete the LED will turn off.
  • For best results, try to fully charge the battery before each use. If the battery is drained, please allow it to recharge for a few hours.
  • Press and hold the ON button to switch the unit on. Press and hold it again to switch off.

General operations

Brightness/Time & Temperature

  • Press the ****button repeatedly to select among the 4 levels of screen brightness (100%/50%/25%/0%).
  • Press and hold the ****button to switch between the 12h or 24h time display modes.
  • Press the ****button twice to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit in temperature display.

Setting the clock

  • Press the M button to switch to the clock mode.
  • Press and hold SET to start setting the time and date. The year indication will start to flash. Use the | << and > >| buttons to set the year and press SET to confirm and go to the next setting. You can hold the | << and > >| buttons when setting to speed up. Repeat accordingly to set the month, day, hour and minute.

Setting the alarm

  • Press the M button to switch to the clock mode.
  • In the clock mode press > >| to cycle through the 3 alarms. When one of the alarms is selected, press | << to activate or deactivate it. Press and hold SET to start setting the selected alarm.
  • Press the | << and > >| buttons to set the alarm hour. Press the SET button once it is set.
  • Press the | << and > >| buttons to set the alarm minute. Press the SET button once it is set.
  • Press the | << and > >| buttons to set one of the 5 alarm signals. Press the SET button once it is set to finish and exit the alarm settings.
  • By default, the 3 alarms have the following settings:
    • Alarm 1: 06:00
    • Alarm 2: 13:00
    • Alarm 3: 18:00

Alarm operation

  • When the alarm time comes, it will sound for 1 minute. Press any button to silence the alarm. It will repeat the next day at the same time. If two or all three alarms are set at the same time, they will go off one after another.
  • If no button is pressed for 1 minute, the alarm will be snoozed and repeat again after 5 minutes. The alarm can be snoozed 2 times.

Bluetooth wireless playback

  • This unit can wirelessly playback audio from any device with the Bluetooth A2DP function.
  • The wireless range is approximately within 10 meters in direct line of sight.
  • Wireless audio streaming requires pairing of a Bluetooth device (e.g. smartphone).

HOW TO PAIR YOUR DEVICE TO THIS UNIT:

  • Make sure the Bluetooth function is switched on in your device (e.g. smartphone, tablet).

  • Switch on the unit and press the M button repeatedly to select Bluetooth mode.

  • Once the Bluetooth pairing is underway, you will find the unit listed in the Bluetooth connections list of your device (as SM-1511B).

  • • If asked for a passcode, enter “0000”.
    • The initial setup is required only once per device. The unit will automatically pair to the last paired device.

  • Press the SET button twice to unpair the devices.

  • When playing files, you can press the Play/Pause button to pause and resume playback.

  • Press the | << or > >| button to go to a previous or a next track. Press and hold these buttons to decrease or increase volume, respectively.

  • Hands-free function: When there is an incoming call on your mobile device, press ****once to answer/hang up, press it twice to reject the call, press twice again to redial.

TF card operation

Playback

  • Turn on the device.
  • Insert a TF (microSD) card into the slot. The TF mode will be selected automatically.
  • When playing, press ****to play/pause the playback.
  • During the playback you can press | << or > >| to go to a previous or a next track. Press and hold these buttons to decrease or increase volume, respectively.
    • It may take up to 60 seconds to open and verify a large TF card with many files.
    • The unit has a memory function for the last played track.

General TF notes

  • This unit is equipped with a TF card slot that can read and play MP3 files stored on standard TF (microSD) cards up to 32 GB.
  • FAT and FAT32 file system is supported by this unit.
  • Never remove TF cards from the unit during playback, always stop playback, then switch to another mode before removing the storage to prevent damage to your files and storage devices themselves.

FM radio

  • Turn on the device.
  • Press the M button to go to the FM mode.
  • Plug the USB charging cable into the unit, it will serve as a reception antenna.
  • Press ****to automatically scan and save all available radio stations. The procedure will take several minutes and cannot be interrupted.
  • Once the search is finished, you can press | << or > >| to go to a previous or a next station. Press and hold these buttons to decrease or increase volume, respectively.

Maintenance and care

Switch off the unit, unplug from the power supply. The outside of the appliance can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth.
