Installation

WHAT’S IN THE BOX?
  • Air Gap
TOOLS/MATERIALS YOU MAY REQUIRE
  • Marker pen
  • Tape measure
  • Saw
  • Screws for mounting
  • Solvent weld glue
INSTALLATION – TAAG01, TAAG101 & TAAG201
  1. Select an installation point for your Air Gap. This must be a vertical section of pipe after your tank overflow. Where practical, we recommend installing your Air Gap at shoulder height toprovide more convenient access for maintenance. Consider whether your stor mwater is a wetor “charged” line to determine the appropriate minimum installation height.
  2. Remove a 142mm section of pipe at your desired installation point. The Air Gap incorporates two 90mm female sockets that glue directly to 90mm pipe. If you’re using adaptors to fit the Air Gap to your existing, non-90mm pipe, you may need to remove an additional length of pipe to allow for these adaptors. Ensure all cut edges are clean and smooth.
  3. Orient your Air Gap so it is the right way up. To do this, refer to the “Install this side facing up” instructions on the product.
  4. Apply solvent weld glue to inside the sockets of the Air Gap or adaptors and also outside of each pipe. 5 – Fit the Air Gap into position and insert both pipes into the sockets and hold until glue sets.
INSTALLATION – TAAG02
  1. Select an installation point for your Air Gap. This must be a vertical section of pipe after your tank overflow.
  2. There are 3 parts to your Air Gap (2 x insect proof screens and 1 x main body). Please remove the insect proof screens, then use solvent weld glue to glue the bodies into either end of the main body of the Air Gap.
  3. Remove a 220mm section of pipe at your desired installation point. The Air Gap assembly incorporates two 100mm female sockets that glue directly to 100mm pipe. Ensure all cut edges are clean and smooth.
  4. Orient your Air Gap so it is the right way up as shown in the diagram on the right. The mouth of the Air Gap catches the water flowing from the tank.
  5. Apply solvent weld glue to inside the sockets of the Air Gap and also outside of each pipe.
  6. Fit the Air Gap into position and insert both pipes into the sockets and hold until glue sets.

Maintenance

Remove the insect proof screens by pulling the handle and clean off any build up of debris.
We recommend regularly inspecting your Air Gap’s mosquito-proof screens to remove any built-up dirt or debris.

Both screens can be easily removed for cleaning. To remove the top mosquito proof screen, simply turn it clockwise until it’s released. To remove the bottom mosquito-proof screen, simply lift it up. Hose or brush off both screens, then replace after cleaning. Ensure both screens are secure to maintain a mosquito-proof barrier.
