Intended Use
Before use, please read these instructions carefully and keep them in a safe
place for future reference. When passing on the appliance to a third party,
make sure to include these instructions for use.
This appliance is only intended for dehydrating / drying fruits, vegetables,
herbs, mushrooms, meats and other food items. This appliance is only intended
for private household use!
Safety
- This symbol identifies hazards which may cause injuries!
- This symbol warns of hot surfaces. Risk of burns!
- This symbol identifies electric shock hazards!
- This symbol warns of evaporating steam!
- General Safety Instructions
- Manufacturer takes no responsibility for any damage caused by incorrect use.
- Incorrect or improper use can damage the appliance and cause injuries to the user.
- Before connecting this appliance to the mains, make sure your local voltage matches the technical data of the appliance. Otherwise the appliance may overheat and get damaged.
Caution! Danger of electric shock!
- Never put the appliance, cord or plug into water or any other liquid.
- Do not use the appliance near a sink or wash basin.
- Do not use the appliance with wet hands.
- Do not use the appliance outdoors.
An electric appliance is not a toy!
- Never leave the appliance unattended during use.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
- Always unplug your appliance when it is not in use, and before cleaning.
- Always pull the plug – not the cord.
- Keep the appliance and the cord well away from any hot surfaces to avoid any damage to the appliance.
- Make sure the cord may not inadvertently be pulled or cause anyone to trip when in use. Do not allow the cord to hang over sharp edges.
- Do not bend the cord or wind it round the appliance.
- Do not use the appliance,
- if the cord is damaged.
- in case of malfunction.
- if the appliance was dropped or is damaged otherwise. Have it checked and, if necessary, repaired by a qualified person/Customer Service. Never attempt to make any modifications to or repair the appliance yourself.
- Only use accessories evaluated for use with this appliance.
- Never attempt to drive any objects into the appliance.
- Never attempt to open the housing yourself!
- The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
Special Safety Instructions
Warning! To avoid the possibility of injury/damage to the appliance, electric shock, and risk of burns.
- Only use the appliance for its intended purpose and as described in this manual, e.g. dehydrating fruits, vegetables and other food items. Place the appliance on an even and heat-resistant surface.
- Attention: The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high during operation. Therefore, do not touch the appliance during and/or immediately after operation. Danger of serious burns!
- Do not move the appliance during operation.
- Do not place the appliance near any inflammable objects.
- The appliance can get very hot during use, danger of serious burns!
- Always attach the lid.
- Do not cover the ventilation slots
- Never open the lid during operation.
- Never place any paper or plastic inside the appliance.
- Never use the appliance longer than 72 hours.
- Do not use the appliance for storage.
- The appliance also features a Thermal safety cut-out which will switch off the appliance, should it accidentally overheat. In the event of such a safety cut-out switch off the appliance immediately, unplug it and let it cool down for approx. 10 minutes. Afterwards, the appliance is ready for use again.

Temperature Setting
- From 35°C – 70°C (Preset temperature: 35°C)
- 5°C steps
- Use the + and – button to increase/decrease the temperature in 5°C steps
Timer Setting
- 1 hour to 72 hours (Pre-set time: 8 hours)
- Use the + and – button to change the time setting (1 hour steps)
- Acoustic sound after set time has elapsed.
Thermal safety cut-out
The appliance has a thermal safety device. In case of thermostat failure
(overheating), the electrical circuit has an automatic cut-out, thus
preventing overheating. If this should happen, disconnect the appliance from
the mains.
Before First Use
- Remove all packaging material and check whether the appliance is complete and undamaged.
Do not use the appliance if it shows any signs of damage and contact your dealer or customer service.
- Fully unwind the power cord.
- Place the appliance on an even and heat resistant surface.
- Connect the appliance to a properly installed wall socket, switch on the appliance and let it run for 1 hour at 70°C.
NOTE: When using the appliance for the first time, a slight odour might occur. This doesn’t cause any harm nor does it mean that your appliance does not work properly. Make sure that the room is well ventilated!
- Afterwards, let the appliance completely cool down and clean it according to “Cleaning and Care”.
Your appliance is now ready to be used.
Warning: Plastic bags are a danger to toddlers and babies, therefore keep them away to avoid suffocation.
Operation
Dehydrating foods is the perfect way to preserve your favorite snack, like
fruits, vegetables, meats, herbs, etc in order for you to enjoy them for a
longer period of time. The hot air generated within the appliance kills
bacteria and maintains all vitamins.
The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high during operation.
Therefore, do not touch the appliance during and/or immediately after
operation.
Tip: Before starting the dehydration / drying process
- Always choose fresh fruits / vegetables, etc.
- Wash and thoroughly dry them.
- Remove spoiled parts, pits, cores, etc., if any.
- Slice into size bite pieces/slices.
- Boil/Blanch vegetables between 2 – 5 minutes. Put them into cold water and dry thoroughly.
- Dip into some lemon juice to preserve the colour and to avoid some discoloration.
- Place the food onto the drying baskets and make sure to leave enough space between each piece so that the warm air of the appliance can properly circulate.
- You can find information on different methods of dehydrating foods in various cook books as well as in educational literature.

Place the appliance on an even and heat resistant surface.

Insert the food filled drying baskets (2) and make sure that the drying baskets (2) are properly positioned on each other.
The height of the drying basket is adjustable, depending on how they are positioned on each other.
The plastic posts of the baskets do have a different distance, therefore you need to rotate the baskets by 180ºC to increase or lower the height. -
Attach the lid (1) and connect the appliance to a properly installed wall socket.

Press the On/Off button (8). 8:00 (hrs) (pre-set time) will appear on the LED display (4).

Press the temperature button (6). The pre-set temperature 35°C appears on the LED display (4). Press the + button (7) to increase the desired temperature.

Press the timer button (5), and set the desired time by pressing the + / – button (7) to increase or decrease the desired time. Time increases / decreases in 1 hour steps.

Once the desired time is set, the respective time will appear on the LED display (4) and the appliance starts with the countdown.

Once the dehydration process is finished an acoustic sound can be heard and “00” appears on the LED display (4). The appliances switches off automatically.
If the foods haven’t dried evenly, exchange the position of the drying basket
(2) to a lower or higher position. Some of the fruits can be covered by its
natural protective layer and that is why the duration of drying may increase.
After, use always make sure that the appliance is shut off and disconnect it
from the mains.

- Herbs 35 – 40°C
- Greens 40°C
- Bread 40 – 45°C
- Meat, Fish 65 – 70°C

Always follow the times mentioned in the respective recipe of your cook book.
Preparing Meat, Fish, Poultry and Game Animal Meat
Due to hygienic and health reason we recommend to follow underneath mentioned
steps when handling raw meat incl game meat, fish and poultry before
dehydrating it.
- Always wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after working with meat products.
- Use clean equipment and utensils.
- Keep meat and poultry refrigerated at 4°C or slightly below; use or freeze ground beef and poultry within 2 days; whole red meats, within 3 to 5 days.
- Defrost frozen meat in the refrigerator, not on the kitchen counter.
- Marinate meat in the refrigerator. Don’t save marinade to re-use. Marinades are used to tenderize and flavor the jerky before dehydrating it.
- When marinating meat, dry the meat thoroughly before placing it into the dehydrator.
- Boil, steam or roast meat and poultry before dehydrating it.
Poultry
Boil or fry it.
Dry it for about 2 – 8 hours or until all moisture has gone.
Fish
Boil or bake it before drying. (Bake it for about 20 minutes with a
temperature of 200°C or until the fish becomes friable.)
Dry it for about 2 – 8 hours or till all moisture has gone.
Meat and Game Meat
Prepare (marinade) it, cut it into small pieces and put into the appliance for
about 2 – 8 hours or until all moisture has gone.
Storing Dried Foods
Due to hygienic reasons, pack and store the dried foods properly to avoid
moisture reabsorption. Best in a dry, cool and dark area.
- Use clean, dry and air tight containers.
- Pack small portions
Before packing the dried foods, make sure that they are completely cooled down.
Usage of the silicone mould for cereal bars

Spread the prepared mixture into the cereal bar mold. The gaps should be filled up to the edges.
Make sure that the top of the mould stays clean. -
Place the silicone mould into the top basket.
Do not dry any other food items when using the silicone mould, in order to avoid overheating of the appliance. -
After half the drying time, break the cereal bar out of the silicone mould and place the bar on the top rack without the mould.

The silicone mould can also be used in the oven at up to 200ºC.
Recipe Ideas:
Fruity Muesli Bar
For approx. 6 Muesli Bars
- 70 g Dates
- 60 g Almonds (chopped or grated)
- 10 g Sunflower kernels
- 10 g Oats
- 8 g dessicated Coconut
- 20 – 30 g dried fruits according to your liking, alternatively use
- 70 g of fresh fruits, chopped or grated
- 1 table spoon Agave Syrup
- 1 table spoon Coconut Oil
- In a pan heat up the coconut oil and toast the oats and sunflower kernels.
- Cut the dried fruits into small pieces.
- Soak the dates for some time in hot water.
- Place them into a food processor and mash them up.
- Add all other ingredients to the Date mash and mix it well with a spoon.
- Fill mixture into the silicone mould.
- Place the silicone mould into the dehydrator and let the muesli bar dry at 70ºC for 4 hours
- After four hours take out the muesli bar from the silicone mould and let it dry for another 4 hours at 70 ºC.
Chocolate Banana Bar

30 g Almonds

35 g Oats

1 table spoon Coconut Oil

5 g puffed Amaranth
-
1 tea spoon Honey
-
10 g Bio Cornflakes (unsweetened)

1 Banana
-
25 g baking chocolate
Chop the almonds and mash up banana. -
Heat the coconut oil until it’s liquid, add chopped almonds, oats, puffed Amaranth and Cornflakes and roast all ingredients for a short time.

Add the honey und the banana, mix until well blended.

Fill mixture into silicone mould. Place the silicone mould into the dehydrator and let the muesli bar dry at 70ºC for 4 hours.

After four hours take out the muesli bar from the silicone mould and let it dry for another 4 hours at 70ºC.
Once the Muesli bars are cooled down, they can be covered with the molten chocolate. Afterwards, place them into the fridge for the chocolate to harden.
Cleaning and Care
Due to hygienic reasons clean your appliance on a regular basis, best after
each use. Not doing so could possibly result in a hazardous situation or could
lead to health issues (germ formation).
Before cleaning, always switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the
mains. Let it completely cool down.
Never immerse the appliance in water. Danger! Electric Shock!
Clean the lid, the drying baskets silicone mould in warm water using a mild
dishwashing detergent. Rinse under running water and dry all parts thoroughly
with a dish towel.
Clean the body and iside of the appliance with a moistened soft cloth.
Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents and/or other hard objects to clean
the appliance.
Make sure that the appliance and all other resp. parts are properly dried.
Never place the appliance and its accessories into the dishwasher – It is not
dishwasher safe! This can damage the appliance and hurt its user!
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without
supervision. Storage
Keep the appliance away from children and store it in a clean and dry place.
Disposal Instructions
Waste electrical devices marked with this sign must not be disposed of with
your household waste, but are to be collected separately. Therefore, please
return this device at the end of its life cycle to special collection points
for disposal or your local dealer.
Your Food Dehydrator 57011 is packed in a retail box. Such boxes are
recyclable waste, i.e. they are reusable or recyclable.

This product is guaranteed against defects in materials and workmanship for a
period of 2 years.
This guarantee is not valid:
- if the appliance has not been used in accordance to the instructions
- for damages due to wear and tear (batteries, etc.)
- for damages known by customer at time of purchase
- for damages caused by owner
This guarantee does not affect your statutory right, nor any legal right you
may have as a custumer under applicable national legislation governing the
purchase of goods.
In order to assert his/her right in a guarantee case during the guaranteed
period, the customer must provide evidence of the date of purchase (receipt).
