Mercury Asus RT-AC66-88U Fiber Dual-Band Wireless AC1750 Gigabit Router User Guide
Using your own router? No worries, we’ve got you covered!
Ensure the Router is connected from WAN on Router to GE1 on ONT.
Log into the gateway:
- Ensure your device is connected to the Router (preferably via cable)
- Open a web browser
- Type the following in the address bar at the top: 192.168.1.1
- Default Username: admin
- Default Password: admin
This should then give access to the router’s user interface.
(If the password is incorrect you will need to Factory Reset the router by
pushing the Inset Reset button on the back for 10 seconds)
How to add correct settings for the Mercury network:
From the menu on the left select: WAN (Under Advanced Settings) Change the following settings:
- WAN Connection Type: PPPoE
- Enable WAN: Yes
- Enable NAT: Yes
- Enable UPnP: Yes
- Get The WAN IP Automatically: Yes
- Connect to DNS Server Automatically: Yes
- User Name: (your mercury acct number) @mercurybroadband.co.nz
- Password: password
- MTU: 1492
- MRU: 1492
- All else can be left unchanged
- Select: Apply
Under the menu on the left again, click LAN (Under Advanced Settings) Change the following settings:
- Select ISP profile: Manual Setting
- Internet: VID – 10, PRIO 0
- The rest can remain unchanged
- Select apply
The Router should now reboot, and you should now be connected to Fibre!
