Product Information: Linksys X6200 Fibre Configuration

The Linksys X6200 Fibre Configuration is a router that allows seamless installation and setup on the Mercury network with custom settings. The router comes with a default username and password for easy access to its user interface. Users can customize the settings to add the correct setup for the Mercury network using PPPoE internet connection.

Usage Instructions

  1. Ensure the router is connected to your device via cable.
  2. Open a web browser and type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar.
  3. Log in using the default username (admin) and password (password).
  4. If the password is incorrect, users will need to factory reset the router by pushing the inset reset button on the back for 10 seconds.
  5. Select “Setup” from the top menu, then select “Basic Setup” from the sub-menu.
  6. Ensure Ethernet is selected, which will reboot the modem.
  7. Tick the VLAN box and enter “10” in the field.
  8. Select “PPPoE” as the Internet Connection Type.
  9. Enter your Mercury account number followed by “@mercurybroadband.co.nz” in the Username field.
  10. Enter your Mercury account password in the Password field.
  11. Leave Service Name blank, keep Keep Alive ticked, and don’t change Optional Settings or Router Address.
  12. Enable DHCP Server and leave it with default settings.
  13. Select “New Zealand” as the Timezone from the bottom of the list.
  14. Select “Save Settings” from the bottom of the page. Do not click “Reboot.”

By following these usage instructions, users can correctly set up the Linksys X6200 Fibre Configuration for use on the Mercury network with customized settings.

Log into the gateway

  1. Ensure your device is connected to the Router (preferably via cable)
  2. Open a web browser
  3. Type the following in the address bar at the top: 192.168.1.1
  4. Default Username: admin
  5. Default Password: password
  6. Login / Reset Instructions

This should then give access to the router’s user interface
(If the password is incorrect you will need to Factory Reset the router by pushing the Inset Reset button on the back for 10 seconds).

How to add correct settings for the Mercury network

  1. From top menu select: Setup
  2. From the sub-menu select: Basic Setup
  3. Ensure Ethernet is selected (this will reboot modem)
  4. VLAN: Ticked – 10
  5. Internet Connection Type: PPPoE
  6. Username: (your mercury acct number)@mercurybroadband.co.nz
  7. Password: Password 8. Service Name: (Left Blank)
  8. Keep Alive: Ticked
  9. Optional Settings: (Don’t change)
  10. Router Address: (Don’t change)
  11. DHCP Server: Enabled (leave with default settings)
  12. Timezone: New Zealand (bottom of list)
  13. Select: Save Settings (from bottom of page, don’t click Reboot)
