The usual symptoms of a Telescopic Transmission Lifters with air in system are as follows;
- No resistance in the pump stroke while raising the load [pedal feels light].
- Most of the down stroke of the pump pedal taken up but no movement of the Lift Ram.
- Lift Ram jumps upwards while being pumped up.
- Lift Ram slowly raises on its own after being fully retracted.

Advanced Bleed Instructions
*Please note this process requires two people to safely bleed these Transmission Lifters!
- Fill oil to factory specifications.
- Close breather.
- Tilt Telescopic Transmission Lifter forward with pedal facing the ground to just above horizontal and support with a vehicle stand just below the lower gland.
- Pump the pedal full stroke 3 x times. Ram will advance and the pedal should regain resistance.
- Place Telescopic Transmission Lifter on its wheels then re-open the breather and pump to fully raised position. Then place the hose clamps on the ram shafts (same method used in the gland seal replacement).
- Place a drip tray underneath the Telescopic Transmission Lifter.
- Carefully undo the blue hex gland nut between the two lift rams until the o-ring is exposed. Then slowly pump the pump pedal to about half stroke and hold in this position. This will push out the air in the ram until a solid stream of oil comes out.
- When only oil comes out and while holding the pedal down, wind the gland nut back into position. Once the o-ring is in the shaft you can let go of the pump pedal and tighten the gland nut.
The range of TradeQuip Transmission Lifters use 32 Grade Hydraulic Oil for the correct operation and compatibility with the seals used in their construction.
