Dirty fluid and sediment build up on the base of the tub will lead to premature failure of the heating element and transducers.

This unit requires emptying and cleaning between uses to ensure the heating element and the transducers can function as per specification.

INTENDED USE

Ultrasonic Parts Cleaners are designed to use high frequency small bubbles in a cleaning tank to remove contaminants on a variety of parts and even debris embedded in tiny cracks and crevices.

STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE

DO NOT use this machine unless you have been trained and assessed to a competent level in its sate use and operation, and have been given permission to use this.

  • Safety glasses must be worn when operating this equipment
  • Long loose hair must be contained when operating this equipment
  • Safety footwear must be worn when operating this equipment
  • Close fitting/protective clothing must be worn when operating this equipment.

PRE-OPERATIONAL SAFETY CHECKS

While the machine is working normally, ultrasonic and tank syntony gives a well-proportioned sound, and no shudder on the surface of the water, yet there is spray made by the tiny bubbles. If there are discontinuous surges, please add or release a little of washing solution in the tank, stopping the surges is better for the objects cleaning.

Please read the following very carefully as failure to comply may invalidate your guarantee.

  • DO NOT run the cleaner continuously for more than 30 minutes at a time, as doing so can damage the internal components.
  • DO NOT operate the unit without fluid in the tank. Always ensure the fluid is no higher than the max mark. Always ensure there is a minimum depth of 7cm.
  • DO NOT allow fluid temperature to exceed 70˚C (160˚F) as cleaning will be affected.
  • DO NOT drop any item into the tank as this may cause damage to the transducer.
  • Always place the items gently into the tank and use the basket.
  • The more items that you place in your cleaning bath the less efficient it will clean. It is not advised to overlap items. Always allow plenty of clear space between the items.
  • Keep the lid on during use. This will prevent splashes and reduce evaporation of the fluid.
  • Always wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and goggles.
  • DO NOT immerse the machine or power cord in water or other liquid.
  • DO NOT touch the unit if the machine has fallen into water during operation. Remove the power plug from the socket first.
  • UNPLUG the power source while filling or emptying the tank.
  • DO NOT spill water or liquid over the device and the control panel
  • DO NOT operate the cleaner without proper grounding.
  • DO NOT place the device on a soft surface, where the vents could be blocked.
  • Upon completion of the cleaning cycle, turn the heater dial off and isolate the machine from the electrical supply.
  • Take care when adding or removing items from the cleaning tank as the fluid is likely to be hot and displaced fluid can damage the internal components. Any displaced fluid must be dried up immediately.
  • In the event of failure/emergency, disconnect the mains supply by removing the plug from the mains socket.
  • When servicing, use only TradeQuip identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts will void the warranty. Ensure the Ultrasonic Parts Cleaner is disconnected from power before servicing.
  • Use the right product for the job. There are certain applications for which the Ultrasonic Parts Cleaner was designed. Do not modify the Ultrasonic Parts Cleaner and do not use the Ultrasonic Parts Cleaner for a purpose for which it was not intended.

ASSEMBLY, OPERATION, PREVENTITIVE MAINTENANCE

FEATURES

The TradeQuip Ultrasonic Parts Cleaner.

  • Normal and soft power control to resolve the cleaning blind spot.
  • Stainless steel housing, tank and lid.
  • Pressed tank without welded joints for better waterproof.
  • Cooling fan.
  • Moisture-proofed PCB.
  • Industrial grade IC & ultrasonic transducer.

Ultrasonic cleaning is based on the cavitation effect caused by high frequency ultrasonic wave vibration signal in the fluid. Microscopic bubbles are formed, and they implode violently causing the cavitation which creates an intense scrubbing action on the small enough to penetrate microscopic crevices, cleaning them thoroughly and consistently. Ultrasonic cleaning is extremely effective at removing dirt and grime which would normally require tedious manual cleaning by hand. This unit can be used to clean a wide variety of instruments and mechanical parts such as carburettors, returning them to almost “like new” condition without damage to delicate parts.

ASSEMBLY

Unpacking: after removing the packing material, make sure the product is in perfect condition and that there are no visible damaged parts. The packaging materials (Polyethylene bags, polystyrene etc.), must be disposed of in an appropriate refuse collection container. Recycle cardboard.

  1. Place the cleaner on a flat, clean surface where the cooling fans will receive adequate ventilation and ensure all controls are set to off.
  2. Ensure the drain tap is in the closed position.
  3. Ensure the power lead is securely plugged into the cleaner and that no part of the lead is likely to come into contact with moisture.
  4. Carefully fill at least 2/3 of the tank with a solvent solution. For demanding cleaning we recommend a small amount of washing up liquid, this will help increase the cleaning performance. The cleaner is now ready for use.
BEFORE USE

Prior to each use conduct a visual inspection by checking for abnormal conditions, such as cracked joins and damaged, loose, or missing parts.

Items Not Suitable for Ultrasonic Cleaning
Soft Jewellery : Pearls, emerald, ivory, coral. Agate, sea turtle shells, etc.
Welded, Plated and Glued Items: Welded or plated metal items, glued items.
Watches: Except diver’s watches with depth rating over 50m(150ft).
Others: Ceramic, camera filters with pre-existing cracks.

Cleaning Solutions:

WARNING: Do not use alcohol, gasoline, bleach, mineral acids, solutions with a flash point, semi-aqueous or combustible liquids in the ultrasonic cleaner tank as this may void the warranty. Only use non flammable water based solutions.

Water-based
Water based solutions are either slightly acidic or alkaline. They can include detergents, soaps and industrial cleaners designed to remove specific soils.

Acidic Water-based
Acidic Water based solutions remove rust, tarnish or scale. They range from mild solutions that remove tarnish, to concentrated, and inhibited acidic solutions that remove plaster, milk-stone, zinc oxide and rust from steel and cast iron as well as scale from hardened steel.

Alkaline Water-based
Alkaline Water based solutions include carbonates, silicates and caustics. These can cause emulsifying action, which keeps soil from redepositing on the cleaned surface, and improves the cleaning action in hard water.

Solution amounts may vary, the amount you use depends on the detergent and type of soil to be removed.

Warning: For use with aqueous (water) based solutions only. Petroleum based cleaning fluids have a flashpoint.

OPERATION
  1. Select your cleaning solution and fill to 2/3 of the tank. Note: Do not use alcohol, gasoline or flammable solutions. This could cause a fire or explosion. Use only water-based solutions.

  2. Fluid temperature should not exceed 70˚C (160˚F) as cleaning will be affected. The optimal temperature recommended is 40˚C – 60˚C.

  3. Place the items into a basket and slowly lower the basket into tank. Do not allow items to contact the tank bottom (solution should cover the whole item).
Power switch (J) – Plug the machine into grounded outlet.
Turn on the power switch on back side of the machine. The timer and heating indicator will light up.

  4. Turn the ‘Power’ knob clockwise to start the ultrasonic cleaner. Select the desired power level – the blue indicator indicates the ultrasonic power from 10% up to 100%. The full ultrasonic power is 600W. While the machine is running you will hear is operating.
Note: Ultrasonic cleaner will not operate if the ‘Timer’ is not set.

  5. Turn the “Heater” knob clockwise to select the desired heating temperature from 20℃ to 80℃. Heating will commence when higher than the ambient temperature and the blue heater indicator light will illuminate.

  6. To achieve the best cleaning result, the recommended solution temperature is 40℃-60℃. Warm water and dish washing liquid can be added to soften grease and improve cleaning result.

  7. If the pre-set temperature is below environment temperature, the heater will not start.

  8. Once heating temperature is reached the heater will stop automatically and the heater indicator light will extinguish.
Heating will automatically re-start when the temperature drops below more than 3˚C than the pre-set temperature and the heating indicator light will again illuminate.

  9. Turn the “Timer” knob clockwise to set timer from 0-30 minutes. Turn the ‘Timer’ counter-clockwise to ‘ON’ to operate continuously. The blue timer indicator light will luminate.
Note: Ensure the ‘Power’ level is selected or the Ultrasonic Cleaner will not operate.

  10. Commence Operation: Once the timer has been set the Ultrasonic Parts Cleaner will start operating.
Note: During the cleaning cycle, you should hear a “sizzling” noise, this signifies the cleaner is operating correctly.

  11. Cease Operation: When the cleaning cycle is complete, turn the Timer Knob and the Heating Knob to the “OFF” position, the Ultrasonic Parts Cleaner will stop operating and the timer and heating indicator will illuminate.

  12. Clean Up: Turn off the power switch on the back of the machine. Unplug the power cord, open the lid and retrieve the basket and the items. Empty the tank and clean both the outside and inside of the machine with clean and dry cloth for next use. Keep the drainage valve closed.
Note: Any spillages should be mopped up immediately, to minimize safety hazards
