Power supply.

This charger should be used with original or certified AC/DC 12V adapter. When the charger is powered up, LCD display turns on.

Button controls.

SLOT-when charging more than one battery at once, switches to next occupied battery slot 1-8 with each button press. It is used to view detailed, individual charging information for each rechargeable battery. This button also is used to change the Li-ion battery type when the charging process already started. Long press the SLOT button till the battery type flashes, then short press MODE button to swath the battery type.

MODE- short press after inserting the battery changes the Li-ion battery mode. It is also used to change the charging current.

Please note that the charger will charge all the inserted lithium batteries by default as a 3.6/3.7V Li-ion. The battery type selection is always individual for one slot.

Basic operations.

Immediately after inserting batteries the charger will carry the diagnostic procedure to determine the battery type and its condition.

Depending on the battery voltage it will automatically detect Ni-MH and Li-ion batteries. When Li-ion cell is detected it is possible to manually activate the Li-FePO4 or Li-HV charging mode as described in point 6. Battery type symbol is indicated on LCD display (Ni-MH, Li-ion 3.7V, LI-ion 3.8V (HV), Li- FePO4).

When inserting next batteries into the charger, the LCD will always show the status of the last inserted cell. The user can  manually review other battery compartments by pressing SLOT button.

If no further action is taken by the user, the charger will start the charge process with default settings — with 500 mA current.

Selecting battery type and adjusting charging current.

The default battery type for lithium cells is Li-ion 3.6/3.7V.The battery type can be changed right after inserting the battery by quickly pressing „MODE” button. If the charger already started default process and you want to change it, you have to long press „SLOT” button till the battery type on the LCD starts flashing, then short press the „MODE” button to switch between desired battery type. The battery type change works only for one slot at a time.

The default charging current is 500mA. It can be either set for individual slot or for all slots occupied. If you want to change charging current on a specific slot use the „SLOT” button to select the slot and then long press „MODE” button till the current section on the LCD starts flashing, then pres quickly „MODE” button to switch to the desired charging current. After couple of seconds the new charging current will be accepted by the charger. If you want to change the charging current on all slots quickly press twice the „MODE” button till the current section on the LCD starts flashing, you will also see that the numbers of all occupied slots are shown on the LCD. Now short press the „MODE” button to change to the desired charging current.

NOTE: we recommend that batteries with a capacity of less than 1000 mAh are charged only by using max 500mA. Charging with 1000 mA current may shorten battery’s life.

Charging.

The charger has ten independent charging slots. It allows to charge different cells, sizes, capacities in different (from 1pc to 10pcs) quantity at the same time.

For the 3.2V LiFePO4 and 3.85V LI-HV batteries you need to change the battery type manually, the charger cannot detect those cells automaticly. It will charge them by default as normal 3.6/3.7V Li-ion battery. This is very important to match the selection according to the inserted lithium battery as improper selection may cause damage to the battery and poses a risk of fire.

The charge process is strictly controlled and terminated with very good precision (the termination method depends on battery type). Slots 1-8 are designed to charge cylindrical batteries and the battery type or charging current can be changed manually by the user. The two 9V battery slots are treated automatically and there is only one charging current — 60mA.

The charger has a OV cell reactivation. The charger will try to reactivate the OV cell with low current and if the voltage won’t increase on the battery within 3minutes all indicators will blink on the LCD and an “ERR” will be displayed.

NOTE: The charger shows the charged capacity — it is not the same as cell’s rated capacity, the value displayed one the charger LCD depends on the discharged state of the inserted batteries. The true capacity can be only measured in chargers with discharge function.

Product disposal.

The crossed-out wheeled-bin symbol on your product, battery, literature or packaging, reminds you that all electrical and electronic products, batteries and accumulators must be taken to separate collection at the end of their working life. This requirement applies in the European Union. Do not dispose any of these products as unsorted municipal waste.
