Field of application

Face shield that protects against short-circuit electric arcs, for work at height and outdoor work.
CE EN 166.

ANSI Z87.1-2015.
GS ET 29.
It is compatible with the VERTEX (2019 version) and STRATO helmets.
This product is not a protective mask for arc welding.
The user should contact the health and safety representative to make sure that the user is wearing appropriate safety glasses for their work environment.
This product must not be pushed beyond its limits, nor be used for any purpose other than that for which it is designed.

Mounting the face shield

Replace the helmet’s side inserts with those included with the face shield, then clip the face shield on both sides of the helmet.
Removal (see diagrams).

  • Work position.
  • Storage position.

Precautions for use

  • Warning: skin contact with the materials in this product can cause an allergic reaction in sensitive individuals.
  • Warning: replace your face shield if it is scratched or damaged.
  • Warning: if you wear the face shield over prescription eyeglasses with temples, impacts against the face shield (for example from high speed flying particles) can be dangerous to the wearer.
  • Warning: if a face shield is made up of components with different certification markings, the rating of this component assembly is equal to that of its lowest-rated component.
  • If protection against high speed flying particles at extreme temperatures is required, then the selected eye protector should be marked with the letter Timmediately after the  impact letter, i.e. FT, BT or AT. If the impact letter is not followed by the letter T, then the eye protector must only be used against high speed flying particles at room temperature.

This product meets the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/425 on personal protective equipment. The EU declaration of conformity is available at Petzl.com.
When to retire your equipment:
WARNING: an exceptional event can lead you to retire a product after only one use, depending on the type and intensity of usage and the environment of usage (harsh  environments, marine environments, sharp edges, extreme temperatures, chemicals…).
A product must be retired when:

  • It is over 5 years old and made of plastic or textiles.
  • It has been subjected to a major fall or load.
  • It fails to pass inspection. You have any doubt as to its reliability.
  • You do not know its full usage history.
  • When it becomes obsolete due to changes in legislation, standards, technique or incompatibility with other equipment…
    Destroy these products to prevent further use.

Against any material or manufacturing defect. Exclusions: normal wear and tear, oxidation, modifications or alterations, incorrect storage, poor maintenance, negligence, uses  for which this product is not designed.
