Instruction Sheet
Subject: BIC LMS Valve Replacement
SCOPE: MULTIPLEX BIC UNITS MA-8-2, MA-8-2BF, MA-8-2AF
TOOLS REQUIRED
- Safety Gloves (cut resistant)
- Oetiker Pliers (PN 00681815)
- Needle Nose Pliers
- Screw Drivers, Phillips & Flat Head
- 3/8” or ¼” Drive Socket Set (3/8” and 5/16”)
- Cleaning Manifold & Cleaning Buckets (store supplied)

NOTE: There are two different User Interface (UI) screens that are used on Blend-in-Cup (BIC) units. See below for reference names.
DISPENSE MOUNTING PLATE
INSTRUCTION
1. Verify operation of unit with manager. Make notes and take pictures of any
issues.
2. Move all product/bins from lower refrigerated cabinet to store’s walk-in
cooler.
3. Rinse and empty product lines by running product pumps. Use warm water to
make lines more pliable.
A. Place cup in dispense area.
B. Fill cleaning bucket with warm water.
C. Connect cleaning manifold to product pumps and place other end of manifold
in bucket of warm water.
D. Use touchscreen to operate solenoids

- Press the BACK arrow to return to easyToUCH screen
- Press MANAGER Menu. Press A then GREEN check
- Press DOWN arrow then press SERVICE
- Press A then press GREEN check
- Press OUTPUTS
- Toggle each flavor solenoid ON until line runs clear then toggle OFF. Repeat for each of the eight (8) solenoids.
FOR COMMON CONTROLLER
- From easyToUCH screen press SERVICE
- Press A then GREEN check
- Press OUTPUTS
- Toggle each flavor solenoid ON until line runs clear then toggle OFF. Repeat for each of the eight (8) solenoids.
4. Locate the dispense valve mounting plate in the top center of the
dispensing area. Remove the four (4) outer screws that secure the mounting
plate in place.
CAUTION
Using too much force while pulling down on the plastic mounting plate could
cause damage to the plate.
CAUTION
Be extremely careful when pulling down on the mounting plate to prevent
product tubes from disconnecting. If product tubes disconnect and slip into
the chase it will be very difficult to retrieve the product tubes.
5. Pull gently down on the mounting plate until the product tubing can be
accessed. With the tubing now accessible pull down on the tubing lowering the
dispense manifold as far down as possible. Now locate the tubing inside of the
refrigerated cabinet. 6. The tubing is towards the upper right rear inside of the
cabinet and is separated by the chase that runs upwards towards the dispensing
area. Push the tubing upwards as far as possible. Return to the dispense area
and pull the tubing downwards as far as possible.
7. Return to the inside of the cabinet and push the tubing upwards as far as
possible.
8. Repeat the pulling of the tubing downwards in the dispense area and the
pushing up of the tubing inside of the cabinet until the top of the dispensing
plate is easily accessible.9. Locate the three (3) sets of LMS valve blocks.
10. Starting with the valve block labeled number one (1) as shown above,
remove the two (2) screws from the metal mounting plate for tubes labeled 5-7.
NOTE: The
tubing is numbered and will need to be returned to the same position within
the dispensing mounting plate following the replacement of the LMS valves. See
“DISPENSE MOUNTING PLATE” on page 1.
11. Remove the remaining two (2) blocks of three (3) valves from the dispense
mounting plate.
12. Wash, rinse, and sanitize the dispense mounting plate.
13. Starting with mounting block one (1) with tubes 5-7, use Oetiker pliers
to cut and remove the existing Oetiker clamps that secure the product tubing
to the LMS valve.
14. Remove the old LMS valves and Oetiker clamps and discard. Install the new
LMS valves using new Oetiker clamps to secure valves to tubing.
15. Repeat steps to replace valves in block two (2) then block three (3). It
is recommended replace valves one block at time, starting with the blocks
towards the rear of the machine first.
16. Reconnect the valve blocks to the dispense mounting plate.
NOTE: The product tubing MUST be in the correct position. See “DISPENSE
MOUNTING PLATE” on page 1.
17. Reposition the dispensing mounting plate to the top of the dispensing
area and secure with the four (4) outer screws. 18. Reverse
actions in Step 6 pulling the tubing downwards within the refrigerated cabinet
and pushing the tubing upwards in the dispensing area towards the inside of
the tubing chase.
19. Verify cabinet temperature is 39°F (4°C) or below.

20. After cabinet temperature reaches 39°F (4°C) or below reinstall product
bags and bins in correct slots.
21. Prime product lines. Only prime lines that have product bags installed.
A. Put a cup under the dispense area.
B. Use touchscreen to operate solenoids. See STEP 3
D on page 1.
C. Empty cup in dispense area as needed. Do NOT pour down the unit drains.
CONFIRM OPERATION
22. With the manager present make sample drinks of each size.
23. Confirm operation of all functions.
