• These directions for use make use of a number of symbols.
• The meanings of the symbols are shown below

Warnings before installation

• Read the directions for use and the installation instructions before installing and using this appliance. You will find important information here for the assembly and use of the appliance.

• The appliance is intended exclusively for household use (preparation of food) and excludes all other domestic, commercial or industrial use. Do not use the appliance outside.

• Keep good care of this manual and pass it on to any person who may use the appliance after you.

• This appliance complies with the applicable safety instructions.
  However, inexpert installation may cause personal injury or damage to the appliance.

• Check the condition of the appliance and the installation fittings as soon as you remove them from the packaging.
  Remove the appliance from the packaging with care. Do not use sharp knives to open the packaging.

• Do not install the appliance if it is damaged, and in that case inform Novy.

• Check on the basis of the drawing A that all the materials for installation have been supplied.

• Novy is not liable for damage resulting from incorrect assembly, incorrect connection, incorrect use or incorrect operation.

• Safety is guaranteed only with expert installation in accordance with the installation manual. The installing technician is responsible for proper operation at the installation location.

• Metal parts may have sharp edges, and you may injure yourself on them. For that reason, wear protective gloves during installation.

• Do not convert or alter the appliance.

• Remove labels and stickers on the appliance with tips for use or installation. The type sticker is to be found behind the grease filter in the appliance. Do not remove it

THE MONOBLOCK RECIRCULATION FILTER

• Contemporary, energy-efficient kitchen ventilation: you can’t have the first without the latter. Recirculation offers the solution for this. Recirculation extraction hoods do not remove the cooking fumes, but filter the odour and fat out of the air and then blow the filtered air back into the home.
• The Novy monoblock filter absorbs unpleasant odours and makes the removal of hot air to the outside unnecessary.
• The basis of the monoblock filter is an advanced form of activated carbon particles in the shape of minuscule spheres that are bonded to a load-bearing labyrinth structure.
• Due to the labyrinth structure, the monoblock filter has a limited loss of pressure and maintains a maximum efficiency. This results in efficient extraction, excellent odour absorption and a limited noise level.

USE OF THE MONOBLOCK RECIRCULATION FILTER

The monoblock filter is used in combination with a cooker hood/hood or worktop extractor

• Before programming and using the recirculation mode, read the operating instructions for your device.
• For optimal operation of the monoblock recirculation filter, it is important to switch on the extractor before cooking and to respect the after-running time. To do this, read the instructions in the operating instructions for your appliance.
• Provide adequate ventilation in the kitchen for optimal efficiency of the recirculation system.

An indication on the cooker hood or downdraft extractor indicates that the Monoblock recirculation filter needs to be replaced.
The lifetime of this Monoblock recirculation filter is indicated on the label on the filter itself.
You can obtain a new monoblock filter from specialist retailers or via the Novy website. Article number monoblock filter: 7600060.

Important : Please read the safety and installation instructions before you start.

TYPE 7642 (BLACK):
To avoid damage, do not remove the cardboard around the chimney parts. Do not remove them until after assembly.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION

1. Carefully take the island hood out of the packaging. Slide the upper part of the shaft out of the lower part of the shaft and turn it around, so the grate is at the top. Then slide the upper part carefully back into the lower part.

2. Remove the recirculation box from the packaging. Secure the supplied exhaust pipe (906217) onto the connection on the recirculation box using the supplied aluminium tape (906292) or using a hose clamp (not included). Ensure that the channel is securely attached to the recirculation box, but do not pull the channel out any further.

3. Slide the hood mounting frame upwards until the recirculation box can be slid in between. Slide it in on the side where the mounting holes are also located.
   ATTENTION! When positioning the recirculation box, ensure that the underside “X” is always above the connecting spout “H”.

4. Let the recirculation box rest in the mounting frame

5. First measure the distance between the work surface and the ceiling (A). Choose the height between the bottom of the chimney hood and the worktop (B) as follows:

6. The recommended mounting height for an electrical or ceramic cooking plate is min. 600 mm and max. 850 mm.

7. The mounting height for a gas or induction cooking plate is min. 650 mm and max. 850 mm. Now the distance C has been determined and it is set with the help of the suspension frame of the island chimney hood.

8. The distance C is set by sliding the suspension frame of the island chimney hood. As soon as the chosen height has been set, the frame can be fastened using 4 bolts (906133). Firmly tighten the bolts.

9. If distance “C” is close to the minimum height of 679 mm, leave the securing of the mounting frame until the outlet pipe (that is already attached to the recirculation box) is attached to the outlet of the motor housing (so that there is still sufficient clearance at the next phase for securing the outlet pipe).

10. Position the recirculation box by the recess in the mounting frame. Bend the lips of the recirculation box over.

11. The holes in the mounting frame and those in the recirculation box align perfectly. Screw the lips to the mounting frame with the 4 screws (906151).

12. Now mount the outlet pipe (which is already attached to the recirculation box) onto the connection spout of the motor.
    ATTENTION! If the mounting frame has not yet been secured at the right height, this should be done now with the 4 screws (906151).

13. The drilling jig is to be found in the mounting instructions of the hood. Position the drilling jig against the ceiling into the correct direction (see the indication for operation) at the place where the island chimney hood is to be mounted. Mark the fastening holes on the ceiling.

14. Drill the holes with a 8 mm bit. Insert the 4 plugs (906155) supplied. Take the ceiling frame and the screws (906143) and fasten the ceiling frame onto the ceiling.

15. Pick up the chimney hood with at least 2 persons and lift it towards the ceiling frame. Press the suspension frame into the ceiling frame until you hear a ‘click’. Partly screw the 4 bolts (906133) into both frames.

16. Level the island chimney hood and then firmly tighten the 4 bolts.

17. Slide up the internal shaft part unto the ceiling. Do this carefully in order to prevent the chimney hood or the shafts from being damaged.

18. Fasten them with the 2 stainless steel screws (906035).

19. Install the Monoblock recirculation filter Open the bottom panel and remove the aluminium grease filter from the chimney hood.

20. Place the Monoblock recirculation filter (7600060) in the opening provided.

21. Put the grease filter back in the cooker hood. Stick the sticker indicating the service life of this monoblock filter next to the opening of the grease filter.
    Close the lower panel.

When selecting recirculation, always set the recirculation program on the extractor hood.
