These are the installation instructions for the appliance shown on the front.
These directions for use make use of a number of symbols.
The meanings of the symbols are shown below.

** W arnings before installation**

  • Read the directions for use and the installation instruc- tions before installing and using this appliance. You will find important information here for the assembly and use of the appliance.

  • Check on the basis of the drawing A that all the materials for installation have been supplied.

  • The appliance is intended exclusively for household use (preparation of food) and excludes all other domestic, commercial or industrial use. Do not use the appliance outside.

  • Keep good care of this manual and pass it on to any person who may use the appliance after you.

  • This appliance complies with the applicable safety instructions. However, inexpert installation may cause personal injury or damage to the appliance

  • Check the condition of the appliance and the installation fittings as soon as you remove them from the packaging.
    Remove the appliance from the packaging with care. Do not use sharp knives to open the packaging.

  • Do not install the appliance if it is damaged, and in that case inform Novy.

  • Novy is not liable for damage resulting from incorrect assembly, incorrect connection, incorrect use or incorrect operation.

  • Do not convert or alter the appliance.

  • Metal parts may have sharp edges, and you may injure yourself on them. For that reason, wear protective gloves during installation.

This kit enables you to disassemble the motor unit for remote installation indoors.
Carefully read the safety and installation instructions of this kit and of the ceiling unit before installing and using it.
Make sure that the wall against which the motor unit is installed has sufficient load bearing capacity.
The motor unit must be installed indoors.
The installation and electrical connection of the appliance may only be carried out by an authorised specialist.

Caution, do not perform any of the following operations while the unit is energised. Make sure that the power is off or that the plug of the cooker hood is unplugged.
The following adjustments to the electrical connection of the unit may only be carried out by an authorised specialist.

  1. Make sure that the cooker hood is disconnected from the power supply. e motor cable is located between the ceiling unit and the motor unit.

  2. Cut this cable at the level of the sticker.

  3. Remove 37 mm of cable insulation from both ends of the cut motor cable.

  4. From the loose wire ends cut off the red wire and 2 white filler wires (= WITHOUT CORE) up to the cable insulation.

  5. Strip the wire insulation of the remaining wires 8 mm with a stripping tool.

  6. Apply the wire end ferrules (8 x7903180 and 2×6830181) to all wires and fix with a plier. Please note that the larger end ferrule (6830181) is reserved for the yellow/green wire.

  7. Connect the supplied connectors (6830044 and 6830045) to the wires.
    Fit the Female connector (6830044) to the cable coming from the the built-in unit.
    Fit the Male connector (6830045) to the cable leading to the motor unit.
    Position the wires and screw them on as shown in drawing 7.
    This is necessary for the proper operation and to avoid damaging the cooker hood.

  8. Close the covers of the connectors and screw them on. This is also the strain relief for the cables.

  9. Everything is now ready to connect the extension cable 990396 to the connectors of the ceiling unit and the motor unit (see step 18).

****The Novy Sense sensor kit has to be mounted directly at the exhaust opening of the cooker hood.

  1. Detaching the motor unit from the ceiling unit
    • Open the bottom planel and remove the grease filters.
    Loosen the 4 screws located next to the protective grid. Keep the 4 removed screws separate. You will need them later.
    • The motor unit is now disconnected from the cooker hood.
    • Stick the supplied insulating strip to the bottom of the tube adapter (6830828).
    • Fixate this tube adapter to the ceiling unit using the 4 screws (906116), which are held separately.
    • Attach the exhaust duct (Ø150mm) to the flange plate on the ceiling hood using a hose clamp or aluminium tape (keep in mindthe length of the exhaust duct in case of removal, if necessary).
    • Put the plug into the wall socket.
    • Then install the cooker hood in the cut-out opening and tighten the clamping screws of the cooker hood in accordance with the instructions given in the assembly instructions for the respective cooker hood.

  2. Remote installation of the motor unit hese are the possibilities of the positions the motor unit may occupy.

  3. Determine the place where you want to place/ hang the motor unit. If necessary, the exhaust direction of the motor unit can be changed by removing 8 screws from the motor cover and turning the motor cover a quarter turn. Screw the tube adapter (6830829) to the bottom of the motor using the screws (4x 906116).

  4. Mount the suspension bracket (830822) to the motor housing. This is done by first unscrewing the screws provided from the motor housing. After this, place the suspension bracket onto the motor unit and screw it back on using the same screws. You can choose position A or position B.

  5. To mount the motor unit onto the wall, you first mark out the 4 drilling holes. ttention! Do not attach the motor to the ceiling.

  6. To mount onto a stone wall: use the screws 906143 and the plugs 906155. e 4 marked-out points and place the plugs into the holes.
    • D Partly screw in 2 screws in position 1 and position 2.
    • Suspend the motor unit over these 2 screws. Next, tighten the screws.
    • Now screw in the screws in position 3 and position 4.
    T mount onto a wooden wall: use the screws 906192.
    • Partly screw in 2 screws in position 1 and position 2.
    Suspend the motor unit over these 2 screws.
    Next, tighten the screws.
    • Now screw in the screws in position 3 and position 4.

  7. Connect the plastic exhaust (864006) onto the tube adapter using 4 screws (906116).

  8. Attach the exhaust duct (Ø150mm) to the flange plate on the motor unit using a hose clamp or aluminium tape.

  9. Connect the supplied cable (990396) between the ceiling unit and the motor unit using the connectors. The length of this cable is 5 m.Optional, you can order an extra extension cable (7000094), resulting in a total cable length of10 m.
    Mount the strain reliefs 6830046 on the two connect or connections.
    Place the grease filters in the cooker hood.
    Check that the filters are fitted and locked properly Close the bottom panel.
    The power can now be restored and the cooker hood is ready for use.
