BEFORE USING

Please read through this booklet for safe and efficient use of the appliance. We strongly recommend reading the “SAFETY WARNINGS” section and all detailed instructions even if you are familiar with a similar appliance.
Keep this instruction manual for future reference.

SAFETY WARNINGS

  • WARNING: ·DO NOT immerse into water or other liquids.
    DO   NOT use this appliance near bathtubs, showers, basins or other vessels containing water.

  • When the appliance is used in a bathroom, unplug it after use since the proximity of water presents a hazard even when the hairdryer is switched off.

  • For additional protection, the installation of a residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA is advisable in the electrical circuit supplying the bathroom. Ask your installer for advice.

  • Burn hazard. Keep appliance out of reach from young children, particularly during use and cool down.

  • When the appliance is connected to the power supply, never leave it unattended.

  • Always place the appliance with the stand,on a heat-resistant, stable flat surface.

  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including Children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

  • When in use, only place on a heat resistant surface.

  • Ensure the supply voltage to be used corresponds to the voltage stated on the unit.

  • Always switch the product off before putting it down, even if it is only just for a  moment.

  • Do not unplug by pulling on the cord. Always grasp the plug and unplug it from the socket outlet.

  • Do not use the hair curler near gas or other flammable materials (such as benzene, paint thinner, sprays, etc.)

  • Avoid directly touching the hot parts of the hair curler.

  • Care should be taken to avoid contact of the barrel with skin, the face and neck.

  • When hot, do not place on surfaces that are not heat-resistant.

  • Only use the hair curler on dry hair. Do not use on artificial hair.

  • Do not use the hair curler in conjunction with other accessories or attachments.

  • unless designed specifically for use with this product.

  • To protect against risk of electric shock, never immerse the unit or let it come into contact with water or any other liquids.

  • Do not use the unit with wet hands. If the appliance should become wet, damp or fall into water, remove plug from the mains socket immediately. Do not put your hands into the water

  • We recommend avoiding use of this product in a bathroom to minimize the risk of contact with water.

OPERATION

  • It is recommended that hair is washed prior to straightening and be at least 90% dry.
  • Connect the plug to an AS/NZS power supply socket and switch on.
  • Confirm that the power switch is “OFF”. Then, plug the power cord into a mains socket and switch ON the power switch. The power indicator light will operate. Allow a few minutes for the barrel to heat up and reach optimum styling temperature. Take care not to directly contact the curler barrel when using, as it gets very hot.
  • Use a comb to divide your hair into several sections (not wider than 5cm).
  • NOTE Take care not to let the curler barrel touch the scalp. Hold the curler barrel perpendicular to your head for more volume or vertically and parallel to your head for less volume.
  • Wind the section of hair around the curler barrel down the length of the hair from root to hair end, hold in place for 6-10 seconds depending on the texture and length of your hair. Repeat process on each section of hair as required.
  • NOTE For tighter bouncier curls, roll less hair. For loose, free-flowing curls, roll more hair.
  • Allow your hair to cool down. Do not comb or brush it before it has cooled down, as this would ruin the hairstyle you have just created.
  • Slide the power switch to the off position to turn the appliance off.
  • Pull out the plug from mains socket outlet.
  • Use the integrated support stand (fold out) when placing the hair curler on a support surface (ensure surface under which it is placed is suitably heat resistant.
CLEANING
  • Ensure the mains plug is disconnected from supply.
  • Ensure the appliance has cooled to room temperature.
  • Remove any dust or hair from edges using a soft brush.
  • Clean the curler body with a damp (well-wrung) cloth and if required, a very small amount of dish washing liquid within the water used. Do not let water or any other liquid to enter the appliance.
  • Ensure all parts are wiped dry with a soft clean dry cloth or paper towel.
STORAGE
  • Ensure the appliance is completely cool and dry.
  • Do not wrap the cord around the appliance, as this may cause damage.
  • Store the appliance in a cool, dry place.

At the end of its working life, do not throw this product out with your household rubbish. Electrical and electronic products contain substances that can have a detrimental effect on the environment and human health if disposed of inappropriately. Observe any local regulations regarding the disposal of electrical consumer goods and dispose of it appropriately for recycling. Contact your local authorities for advice on recycling facilities in your area.

Please keep the original packaging carton and materials in a safe place. It will help to prevent any damage if the product needs to be transported in the future. In the event it is to be disposed of, please recycle all packaging material where possible.
