Activate your Trash Talk Sensor using a smart phone.
Follow the instructions on the Activation Flyer to successfully activate your device. NOTE:
The Sensor must be activated on-site where it will be installed. During the activation process, the location will be recorded -
Different Model Numbers require the Bracket to be closed at different angles. To set the bracket at an angle, push the top of the bracket down until the holes on the top align with the holes in the back that orrespond with the requiredangle, as shown in the diagram. Insert the supplied Screws and Washers into appropriate threaded holes
-
On the side that has six holes, use the screws and washers to attach the Sensor to the Bracket. Use only the holes in the middle row. Be sure to attach the side with the sensor close to the back of the bracket, where the fastener is. Follow the diagrams.
-
Peel the tape cover off the back of the Bracket. Be sure to leave the tape itself on; only peel the cover. See next page for how to adhere bracket to each type of top.
Closed Loop Bracket for TrashTalk™
Flat Top Trash Cans
Find a flat section of the trash can cover. Some versions of this top may have
supporting brackets on the underside of the lid. Avoid these. Adhere the
Sensor to a flat spot, so that the entire back of the bracket is touching the
lid. Leave at least a ½ an inch of free space on both sides of the sensor.
Orient so that the “eye” of the sensor is close to the inner circle and facing
away from the outer edge. See diagram.
Plastic Square Trash Cans Tops
Imagine a line going from one corner diagonally across to the opposite corner.
Some versions of these tops have such a line molded into the plastic. Place
the sensor 3″ away rom this line. Place the sensor so that the bracket is
parallel with this line, and place it so that the “eye” of the sensor is far
from the line. See diagram.
Rain Bonnet Trash Can Tops
The Rain Covered Tops for these trash cans come with three supports that
form a triangle shape on the underside of the Top. Nest the Bracket
tangentially along the inner ring, in between two of the supports, where they
come together to make an angle. Orient so that the “eye” of the sensor is
close to the inner circle and facing away from the outer edge. See diagram.
Plastic Round Trash Cans Tops
Place the sensor so that the base is no closer than ½ an inch from the sensor.
Place the bracket so that the sensor “eye” is closer to the edge, across from
the opening door to the trash can. See diagram
