POPPSTAR Self-fusing Silicone Tape
Introduction
Self-fusing silicone tape (self-sealing) is easy to handle. When wrapped
tightly around cables, electrical connections, hoses, and pipes, it adheres to
itself to form a strong, seamless, rubbery layer (uniformly air and
watertight). It flexibly adapts to all surfaces and can even be applied under
water.
Our silicone tape follows the shape of and seals irregular surfaces with ease.
It can be used/handled at temperatures between -30° Celsius and +100° Celsius,
insulates, seals, and provides protection against corrosion.
It can also be used as emergency repair tape to seal leaking hoses and pipes.
Please note: Clean your hands before use. This prevents dust, oil and other
substances from affecting the tape’s self-amalgamating properties.
Using Instruction
-
If necessary, clean the surface to which the tape will be applied. Cut off the amount of tape needed.
-
Remove the transparent film from the upper side of the tape and place the tape on the element to be repaired.
-
Apply the tape and hold it in place with your thumb. Pull the tape tight and wrap it around one time completely with complete overlap (tape is fixed in position for further wrapping).
-
Overstretch the tape consistently by about 200% and wrap it around in an overlapping manner while pulling on it tightly. When doing so, make sure that the tape overlaps itself with at least 50% of its width (self-fusing).
Tip: If the tape is not being exposed to any pressure, slight overstretching is sufficient (e.g. connection seal or cable insulation).
-
For the final winding, pull less tightly on the tape and make sure that it overlaps itself completely. Press on the tape for 10 seconds until it is fixed in place.
Tip: After winding the tape around, you might see that the last section of the tape (the part where you were holding it for a long time) does not attach itself properly to the rest of the tape. In this case, simply cut off the protruding end. The tape bonds completely after about 24 hours.
