POPPSTAR 1008148 TV Antenna Signal Meter

The Poppstar Satellite finder with integrated measuring device, display and acoustic signal for an optimal alignment of your satellite antenna. The delivery contains: 1 Sat finder, 1 jumper cable.

Technical specifications

Dimensions Sat finder (L x W x H) 105 x 43 x 62 mm
Connectors 2x F connectors
Jumper cable length 17 cm
Use
  • Check package contents for completeness.

  • Connect your LNB to the F-connector “TO LNB” on the left-side of the Sat finder with the jumper cable provided.

  • Connect the cable of your receiver to the F-connector “TO REC” on the left-side of the Sat finder.

  • Turn on the receiver. If the cable is properly connected, the display of the Sat finder lights up.

  • Roughly align your antenna in the desired sky direction.
Please note: In Europe you should use the south as a starting point for the alignment of the antenna. All free-to-air satellites are located on the southern horizon.

  • The level control regulates the signal reception of the Sat finder. For an optimal alignment of your antenna, please turn the level control clockwise (which increases the sensitivity of the Sat finder) until the pointer of the backlit display shows a value around 5.

  • Now start to align the antenna more precisely by turning it slowly to the left or to the right (horizontal alignment). Make sure to fi nd also the correct angle of inclination (vertical alignment). The Sat finder produces an acoustic signal that becomes louder the better the antenna is aligned.
Please note: If the pointer of the backlit display shows full deflection, please turn the level control counterclockwise (which decreases the sensitivity of the Sat finder) until the pointer shows again a value around 5.

  • When the acoustic signal reaches the highest level and the pointer shows the highest deflection, the antenna is ideally positioned.

  • The 4 LED on the Sat finder indicate the receiver settings:

Polarization 13 V = vertical 18 V = horizontal
Signal 0 kHz = Low Band 22 kHz = High Band
  • Check if you receive the desired channel on the receiver. Finally remove the connector cable and the Sat finder and reconnect the LNB cable to your receiver.

Important advice

  • To avoid a continuous full-scale reading, do not use the Satellite Finder directly in front of the antenna.
  • When using an LNB with gain higher than 60 dB, insert a 5 dB attenuator between the LNB and the Satellite finder.
  • Do not attempt to modify the device.
  • Protect the device against humidity and high temperatures.
  • Please keep the device away from children, as it might contain smalls parts which can be swallowed.
