INSTALLATION

NOTE: Installation procedures are common for both front and rear applications.

Step 1. Vehicle off. Allow adequate time for differential fluid to cool.

Step 2. Drain oil using the side port drain plug on the housing. Reinstall drain plug and tighten per owner’s manual. Recycle used oil.

Step 3. Remove the differential cover.
Thoroughly clean housing mating surface to remove sealant and oil.

Step 4. Apply a continuous bead of RTV sealant in the machined channels and around the inside of the screw holes. (Fig.1)

Step 5. Insert two screws into the holes on each side of the Cover (Fig.2, 1,2). Carefully position PPE Diff Cover in place. Do not smear the sealant. Finger tighten screws to secure Cover in place.

Step 6. Install remaining screws finger tight.

Step 7. Tighten screws using a crossing pattern as depicted. (Fig.2) Torque to 8-10 ft. lbs. Allow manufacturer-recommended time for RTV sealant to set up.

Step 8. If applicable, return the vehicle to a level surface.

Step 9. Fluid levels will differ depending on modifications. Fill to the recommended level using manufacturer-recommended oil.

Step 10. Tighten Fill/Check plugs. Check for leaks.
Installation complete.
