Patient Care Vicinity. If malfunction or insulation breakdown occurs,
grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce
the risk of electric shock. This product is equipped with a cord that contains
a special integral equipment-grounding conductor and grounding plug. The plug
must be connected to a duplex outlet that is properly installed and grounded
in accordance with all local codes and ordinances. This product also includes
an attachment plug with integral patient equipment grounding pin, which must
be connected to the duplex receptacle before use within any Patient Care
Vicinity (6 ft. / 1.8 m), beyond the patient bed, chair, table, treadmill or
another device that supports the patient during examination and treatment.
DANGER – Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor and
Patient Equipment Grounding Conductor can result in a risk of electric shock.
Check with a qualified electrician, technician or service person if you are in
doubt as to whether the product is properly grounded.
