Introduction
To reduce noise interference between connected equipment, this surge suppressor has four widely spaced NEMA 5-15R outputs that are organized in 2 separate isolated filter banks. While its right angle NEMA 5-15P flat plug enables furniture and equipment to be positioned flush against the wall to conserve space, the extra-long 6-foot AC power chord functions as an extension cord to provide you freedom to reach distant outlets.
To reduce noise interaction between connected equipment, outlets are organized in separate, separated filter banks. Dangerous overloads are avoided with a 9A resettable circuit breaker. Your expensive equipment is kept safe from electrical surges, spikes, and noise interference coming from both inside and outside of your building thanks to the 330-joule surge suppression rating. A lit on/off switch gives linked devices one-touch control.
Rugged all-metal case is resistant to hard settings like factory floors, garages, and warehouses. Keyhole mounting tabs are included with the case to enable permanent placement on or beneath counters, worktables, walls, etc. To protect unused outlets, a set of 4 outlet covers is offered.
The Isobar surge protector line is the only one with internal barriers (known as isolated filter banks) that stop disruptive line noise from creating A/V distortion, computer lock-ups, data mistakes, and other issues. Large toroidal chokes, ferrite rod-core inductors, HF/VHF capacitors, and multiple layers of metal oxide varistors are all part of Isobar’s innovative protection system, which is combined into two exclusive isolated filter banks to block EMI/RFI interference, eliminate system crashes, reboots, and performance issues.
The ISOBAR4/220 is covered by a lifetime warranty for your piece of mind. Additionally, the ISOBAR4/220 is produced in accordance with strict RoHS guidelines, demonstrating Tripp Lite’s dedication to environmental responsibility.
Isobar Surge Suppressors protect attached equipment against potential damage from spikes, surges and noise interference on the AC line. All models feature durable metal cabinets. EUR0-4 and ISOBAR 4/220 models feature isolated filter banks which eliminate interference between connected equipment. CCIEURO models are designed to be located between a computer and monitor for easy access to front panel switches.
INSTALLATION
STEP 1) Using the supplied power cord, connect the surge suppressor to a grounded three-conductor 220/240 Volt, 50 or 60 Hz AC wall outlet.
Note: the Isobar4/220is designed for230V operation, but may also be used for 120V operation (at reduced suppression levels). However, it is the user’s responsibility, to avoid equipment damage, to be sure the voltage rating of connected equipment matches the voltage delivered at their AC wall outlet Select surge suppressor models feature a detachable power cord; exchange the power cord from these models with a detachable power cord from your equipment (from a computer for example) with a plug type that matches your wall outlet.
CAUTION! Do not connect the surge suppressor to a UPS system’s output receptacles.
All cords, adapters or wall outlets must have a ground pin or connection. Lack of a proper ground connection will eliminate common mode protection.
STEP 2) Connect your equipment (either 2- or 3-wire) to the surge suppressor’s output receptacles.
Note: If your equipment’s plugs do not match the surge suppressor’s receptacles, use an IEC-320 jumper cord (supplied with some models) or use a Universal Plug Adapter (available separately in a variety of plug configurations from 1.Tripp.Lite).
CAUTION! Do not connect equipment with a total amperage rating higher than the amperage rating of the surge suppressor’s circuit breaker (see Specifications on back).
If the amperage rating is exceeded, the circuit breaker will trip. Remove overload; wait 1 minute; and press circuit breaker to reset.
STEP 3) Turn on the surge suppressor’s power switch.
Note: Select models feature switches that illuminate in the “ON” position. Turn on the individual front panel switches on the CCIEURO to control corresponding outlets on the rear of the unit. If the CCIEURO’s green “Protection Present” light fails to illuminate, the first level of surge protection is inoperative, although protection still exists at an adequate level. If this occurs, return the CCIEURO for service.
WARNING! Do not drill into or open any part of the surge suppressor. There are dangerous voltages present inside the unit. There are no user- serviceable parts inside the unit.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Which kind of plug does the supply cord have? US stranded or another?****
On the cords other end is a typical three-pronged 115VAC 15 Amp connector.
What are the differences between the isolated filter bank outlets and the 50db and 75db outlets?****
The surge protector’s isolated filter banks are special outlets that provide extra filtering in between each duplex pair of outlets to block up to 80 dB of interference from electrical noise between connected loads. The isolated filter outputs provide more filtration than the 50 dB and 75 dB outlets, which are not isolated.
What kind of continuous wattage loads can this support?****
The Maximum Load: 12A is stated on the ISOBAR 4 ULTRA 120V.
I use 220 volts in my home country; is it safe to use or plug it in here?****
Yes, using this ISOBAR with 220V is safe.
Are surge protected outlets worth it?****
Surge protection is more crucial than ever, given the ridiculous amount of power that modern electronics have. Electrical problems or even a fire may result from an outlet that is receiving too much electricity. Surge protectors are used to assist avoid this issue.
Is a surge suppressor the same as a surge protector?****
A surge suppressor, sometimes overly optimistically referred to as a “surge protector,” is a device installed in the alternating current (AC) utility line and/or telephone line to guard against transient voltage “spikes” (also known as surges) that can harm electronic equipment.
How long do surge suppressors last?****
The majority of estimations place a surge protector’s lifespan between three and five years. Additionally, you might want to repair your surge protectors as frequently as every two years if your house is frequently exposed to brownouts or blackouts.
When would you use a surge suppressor?****
Surge protectors are an excellent idea for other high-end electronic devices such entertainment center components. Although a surge protector will typically increase the lifespan of these gadgets, there is always a danger that a significant power surge can seriously harm them.
What is better than a surge protector?****
Uninterruptible power sources (UPS) act as temporary backup power, whereas a surge protector acts as a power strip. When the main power source fails, UPS devices function independently and supply electricity. A UPS safeguards both users and equipment in the event of a power outage.
Do whole house surge suppressors work?****
Yes! A whole-house suppressor provides complete lightning protection by immediately preventing the surge from entering household circuits. Individual plug-in suppressors are unable to shield hard-wired electronics from damage.
Can I plug a PC into a surge protector?****
Your computer should be connected to a surge-protected outlet. I like to use a power strip or an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) that has this technology to make sure the outlet has surge protection.
How many joules do I need to protect my computer?****
For your most crucial and pricey equipment, like laptops, home theatre systems, gaming consoles, and other valuable items, surge suppressors with more than 2,000 joules of protection should be taken into consideration.
How many joules do I need to protect my TV?****
It is preferable to take into account HDTVs with at least 2000 Joule ratings. For 4K HDTVs costing less than $1,500 and 8K HDTVs, Austere suggests the V Series Power (3000 Joules) and VII Series Power (4000 Joules), respectively.
Can you plug a heater into a surge protector?****
Space heaters shouldn’t be plugged into surge protectors, extension cables, plug timers, GFCI outlets (the ones with the test and reset buttons), or practically anything that isn’t a wall outlet, according to the manufacturers.
Does Smart TV need surge protector?****
To prevent damage from surges during a storm, desktop computers, laptops, televisions, gaming consoles, and charging phones should all be plugged into surge protectors. These devices’ lifespans may be shortened or even completely destroyed by a power surge or spike.
