Introduction
This manual contains a description of the machine and the necessary instructions to be able to use it safely and correctly as well as instructions for daily and periodic maintenance of the machine.
It is the duty of the employer (machine owner) to ensure that everyone who has to operate, service, maintain or repair the machine has read the operating instructions.
It is recommended to use only original spare parts and accessories. Using nongenuine parts can be dangerous as well as reduce the life and performance of the machine. In addition, the warranty may lapse.
Should any doubts arise as to the interpretation of the instructions for use, please contact the supplier.
General information
The operating instructions are part of the safe operation of this machine and must always be kept with it. READ, UNDERSTAND AND FOLLOW the instructions in the operating instructions before using the equipment.
The illustrations in the instructions for use may differ from what is delivered.
The operating instructions have been prepared in accordance with the Machinery Directive 2006/42 / EC and the relevant technical standards.
The machine is equipped with safety labels, which must be maintained and replaced when they are no longer legible.
This symbol together with the words: DANGER, ATTENTION, WARNING used in the operating instructions to draw attention to the safety and operation of the machine. It is important to follow all the guidelines given.
Safety
Before using the equipment, ensure that you have read the user manual thoroughly. Ensure that you are completely familiar with the functions and how the machine is operated correctly, and that all the safety instructions are followed.
WARNING
- The user must be 18 years of age or older.
- The machine must be positioned on a level and stable surface.
- The user must wear safety gloves, ear defenders and safety goggles.
- The wood chipper may only be used outdoors since exhaust gases are hazardous when inhaled.
- Never let the machine operate unsupervised.
- The replacement of the blades and counter blade and the checking of blade bolts may only be carried out after the engine and rotor are stopped and have come to a complete standstill, and after the sparkplug has been removed.
- After one hour of use, tighten all the bolts and nuts.
- Exercise extreme caution in respect of the machine’s rotary blades.
- Do not put hands or feet into the machine when it is operating.
- Never operate the wood chipper if you are under the influence of alcohol, medicine or drugs.
- Never attempt to fit or remove different parts when the machine is operating.
- Always keep children, animals or bystanders away from the working area.
- Do not touch the machine’s exhaust when in use or immediately after use as the exhaust can become very hot.
- Pay particular attention to ensuring that metal, stone, glass or other foreign bodies do not enter the machine.
- If the machine becomes noisy or vibrates, stop the machine. Examine the machine for damage or loose parts and remedy the problem before re-starting the machine.
- Thicker branches should be fed into the wood chipper more slowly compared to thinner branches.
- If the wood chipper becomes blocked, stop the engine before removing the stump.
- Ensure that the guards remain on the machine – they are there for your protection.
- Stop the wood chipper engine before transporting the wood chipper.
- Use hearing protection.

Component overview
Assembly
Start by unpacking the machine from the wooden box in which it is delivered.
Check that all parts are included in the delivery and are undamaged.
Delivery includes:
- Main machine
- Hopper
- Wheels
- Output pipe
- Transport-drawbar
- Handlebar
- Personal protective equipment (Gloves, hearing protection + safety goggles)
- Wrench for knife shaft and black nylon bag with wrenches + spark plug wrench
- Manuals
Attach the handlebar
Insert the handle into the tubes and tighten them with your thumbscrews.
Attach wheels
Remove the wheel bolts from the axle, put the wheels on the axle. Make sure the valve is facing outwards.
Attach the hopper
Attach the output pipe
Insert the output pipe into the hinges and mount with two bolts.
Attach the draw bar
Insert the drawbar into the square tube and insert the bolt through the assembly and mount the split in the bolt as shown.
Function
The wood chipper is designed to chip wood from newly felled trees. Branches should not be thicker than 10 cm in diameter. Only use the machine for the purpose it is designed for. The rotor has two blades, each 30 cm in width, and is driven via V-belts from an engine with an electrical starter. The rotor’s centrifugal power ensures that the woodchip is ejected from the machine’s spout. The angle of the rotor’s wings where the blades are securely bolted, and the position of the counter blade ensure that the branch is automatically pulled into the machine without manual feeding.
Before commissioning
Before use, check that the bolts on the blades and counter blade are secure. After using for one hour, check that the bolts are still secure and that the distance between the blades and counter blade is 0.5 mm. If necessary, adjust the counter blade for this distance.
Check that the positioning of the machine is stable on the ground and make sure that it cannot tilt in any way. The hazard zone on the output side of the machine must be respected to avoid serious personal injury when woodchip is ejected from the spout. Keep bystanders positioned at least 12 m from the machine, and in the opposite direction to the ejected woodchip.
Make sure the emergency stop works.
Fill with fuel and engine oil according to specifications.
Adjust the chute, so that the processed material is thrown in the optimal direction:
Loosen the screws and turn the chute to the desired position. Tighten again.
Start
Please note – Engine oil must be added prior to start
Wood chipping
Trapped wood
If the wood chipper has trapped wood, you must first stop the engine and remove the sparkplug terminal before remedying the problem.
Transport
Ensure that the engine has stopped before moving the machine!
Emergency stop
Maintenance
WARNING
All technical inspections and maintenance should be done with the engine turned off and the spark plug cap removed from the spark plug.
Maintenance plan
Checking and filling the engine oil level
Take out the oil plug / stick, wipe it off and put it in again. Pick up the stick and read the oil level on the stick. The level must be somewhere between min. and max. the marking on the stick.
Carefully fill oil with a funnel as shown. Check the oil level again as above. Reattach the plug with the dipstick.
Cleaning the air filter
A clogged air filter significantly reduces engine performance and causes engine malfunction. In addition, it reduces engine life!
Remove the air filter cover by loosening the wing nut. Remove the air filter from the machine.
The air filter consists of a foam element (pre-filter) and a paper filter.
The pre-filter is cleaned with soap and water, pressed free of liquid and left to dry. When dry, wet it with a little thin oil.
The paper filter is replaced.
Put the filter back in the air filter housing, put on the cover and screw it on with the wing nut.
Air filter replacement
When the pre-filter can no longer be cleaned due to wear or damage, it must be replaced. Use the above procedure to disassemble the air filter and insert the new foam element.
Checking the rotor and wheel bearings
Inspect the bearings in both rotor and wheel bearings regularly. Be sure to keep them clean, but never use a high-pressure cleaner on the bearings. Water can penetrate the bearings, which destroys them and can cause machine damage.
When inspecting the bearings, their free movement must be checked. They must roll easily and without noise. The bearings are replaced as needed.
Lubrication of rotor
Remove the rotor cover as shown and apply two presses of grease to the each grease nipple with a grease gun. Remember that there is a grease nipple on both sides of the rotor.
Cleaning
Clean the machine with a damp cloth. If a high-pressure cleaner is used, never direct the jet directly at the bearings.
Storage
Before putting the machine into storage, grease, or oil the rotor, the blades and the counter blade to protect against corrosion.
Troubleshooting
Disposal
The machine must be disposed of in accordance with current guidelines.
