| DANGER
ROTATING TINES HAZARD
1. DO NOT go under frame when tines are turning or the engine is running.
2. Disconnect and lock out the power source before adjusting or servicing.
3. Keep hands, feet, hair, and clothing away from moving parts.
4. Keep others away.

| DANGER
THROWN OBJECT HAZARD
1. Keep deflector in place while operating.
2. DO NOT point outlet toward people. animals, or buildings.
3. Stay away from the outlet during operation.
4. Keep others away.

CAUTION
To Avoid Injury or Machine Damage: Operate only with 540 rpm PTO

Before starting

Remember to fill up the gear oil!
You must use approx. 1 liter of 80W-90 gear oil for the gearbox, and approx. 1.5 liters for the gear casing. In both locations, you should fill up the oil until it is level with the plug.
In some instances, depending on the tractor model, the PTO shaft must be shortened to a suitable length. Shorten both halves an equal amount, round off the sharp edges, and lubricate the slide bars. Any shortening of the PTO shaft must be done by a professional tradesperson.
Connect the 3-point hitch carefully on the rotary tiller.

Setting the tilling depth
The tilling depth depends on the position of the skid shoes. Adjustment is made by loosening /disconnecting the bolts, and then raising/lowering the skid shoes to the desired position. The bolts are tightened again when the desired height is reached.
Remember to adjust the skid shoes on both sides of the rotary tiller.

Maintenance

Proper servicing and adjustment are the basis for the long service life of all agricultural machinery. Thorough and systematic inspection can save expensive maintenance, time, and repair.

WARNING
For safety reasons, all maintenance must be carried out with the PTO disengaged, the machine lowered to the ground and the tractor switched off, and with the ignition key removed.

Daily maintenance

  1. Inspect bolts and nuts. Replace or tighten them as required.
  2.  Inspect the oil level in both the gearbox and side gearbox.
  3. Check the universal joint cross, pin, and grease cup on the bearing seat, and inject grease into the cup.
  4. Inspect the blades for damage and lose bolts, replace or tighten as required.

Every 25. Hour of operation

  1. Lubricate all the machine’s grease nipples, as well as the PTO shaft’s.
  2. Check the amount of oil in both the gearbox and in the gear casing, and top up with gear oil, if it is necessary. Remember to place the machine on a flat surface when you check the amount of oil and do not overfill the gear oil.
  3. The final check should be to re-tighten all nuts and bolts.

Adding oil
Remember to place the machine on a flat surface when you check the amount of oil and do not overfill the gear oil.

Replacing blades

If the blades become damaged or missing, they must be replaced with new ones. Please note that there af left- and right-bent blades and that they must be mounted as shown in the picture left, with a washer, bolts, and nuts.

Yearly maintenance

  1. Remove dust and filth from the tiller.
  2. Replace oil in the gearbox.
  3. Disassemble and clean the bearings and their seats on the blade shaft, replace the oil seals and inject sufficient grease.
  4. Grease the universal joint cross.
  5. Inspect bolts and nuts etc. If the part is rusty, worn, or damaged, it must be replaced.
  6. Check the blades for cracks, wear, or missing parts. Replace if necessary.
  7. Check the blade holder, and replace or repair if required.
  8. Repair the cover and the trailing bar if required.
  9. The rotary tiller must be placed indoors if possible and raised to make the blades free of the ground. The blades must be oiled to prevent rust. Surfaces with broken paint layers must be painted to prevent rust.

Storage during the winter season
When the season is over, we recommend that you prepare the machine for winter storage immediately after the last use. Start by cleaning the machine thoroughly – dirt and dust attract moisture and moisture results in rust formation. If you clean the machine with a high-pressure hose, you should avoid directing the stream directly at the bearings.
After completion of cleaning, the machine should be well lubricated, the PTO shaft should be disconnected, and you should smear grease on the bars, and in the universal joint. Spray the machine with a layer of rust protection oil – especially important for all polished parts. The machine itself should always be stored indoors, in a ventilated machine house or garage.

Lubrication sites

Lubrication sites Purpose
Oil check screw plug Check the oil level of the gearbox and the side gearbox

–injection should continue until oil overflows from the oil
check box.
Ventilate screw plug| Ventilation of the side gear box.
Grease the nipple of the joint cross| Inject the grease into the joint cross (so that the bearing of the joint cross is greased).
Grease the nipple of the bearing seal on the cultivator shaft| Inject grease into the bearing and the oil seals of the cultivator shaft (lubricate the bearings and the oil seals).

Troubleshooting

Problem Cause Solution
Improper angling of the PTO shaft The rotary tiller is not straight
horizontal. Adjust to a straight horizontal position.
One of the tractor sway chains is too short. Adjust the chain.
PTO shaft damaged Wrong direction. Re-assemble correctly.
Insufficient greasing. Clean and grease sufficiently.
PTO shaft angle is too big the shaft is stuck/assembled incorrectly. Adjust.
Noise in the gearbox. The clearance between the
crown wheel and the pinion must be adjusted with shims. Contact supplier.
The bearing is damaged. Replace the bearing.
Tooth of gear broken. Replace gear.
The cultivator shaft does not rotate properly. Gear or bearing damaged or
stuck. Replace gear or bearing.
The cultivator shaft is crooked or in other ways deformed. Correct or replace

the shaft.
Cultivator shaft wrapped with grass or covered with a lot of dirt.| Remove grass and dirt.
Damaged blades and/or blade holders.| Blades struck loose by stones.| Tighten the blades.
Blades mounted in opposite directions.| Mount the blades correctly.
Blades bent or broken.| Replace blades. Be aware that there are right/left knives.
