WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS

WARNING: Avoid Fire or Electric Shock

  • Follow installation instructions caretully.
  • If unsure about electrical installation consult a qualified electrician.
  • For suspended or bracket mount only, Do not surface mount light fixture.
  • Do not install on a radiant-heating ceiling.
  • Do not use in wet location.
  • Only install using length of chain as provided with luminaire.
  • Minimum operating room temperature of -20˚C recommended.
  • This unit is intended to be installed directly below receptacle.
  • Never alter length of power cord.
  • Mounting hooks should engage the chain only, product is not intended to be suspended by the electric cord set.
  • Fixture should be installed by persons with experience in household wiring or by a qualified electrician. The electrical system, and the method of electrically connecting the fixture to it, must be in accordance with the National Electrical Code and local building codes.

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications.   • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Before installation, plug fixture into a 120V, 60Hz electrical outlet to check for proper operation. Then unplug and begin the installation. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INSTALL WHILE PLUGGED IN.

  2. Product may be suspended mounted or bracket mounted to either a stud or dry wall. Mounting hardware should be suitable for the intended application and mounted 41” apart for chain mount applications and 40” apart for bracket mount applications.

  3. For stud chain mount applications insert (2) #8 or larger diameter open screw eye
    hooks into a wood joist. Continue to step 5. (Fig.1)

  4. For drywall mount applications drill hole to fit included wall anchor and screw surface bracket to ceiling. Go to step 7.

  5. Loop S-hooks to back of housing end. (Fig. 2). Go to step 6 to level fixture.Metalux-4SHP5040RL-4ft-96W-Integrated-LED-Light-FIG-2

  6. Hang one chain on each open screw eye. Make sure the number of links on each chain is the same. This will ensure that the fixture hangs level. If you are using brackets,
    continue to step #7

  7. Snap fixture into the brackets using the 4 slots provided on the outside of the fixture housing (Fig. 2 and 4).

  8. The distance between the cord end of fixture and electrical outlet shall be within 5 feet. Plug fixture into 120V outlet only.

  9. Add pull string cord to end of pull chain for added length.

  10. This portable luminaire has a 3-prong plug as a feature to reduce the risk of electric shock. This plug will fit into 3-prong electrical outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit into outlet, contact a qualified electrician. Never use with an extension cord unless plug can be fully inserted. Do not alter the plug.

  11. Portable luminaire is rated 120V AC and 60Hz 0.45A

  12. LINKABILITY
    This shoplight has an outlet on the end opposite of the plug-in cord. You can use this outlet to connect multiple fixtures together (up to 4) by plugging the first shoplight into a power source then plugging the next shoplight into the outlet of the first fixture. (Fig. 3)

5-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

THE FOLLOWING WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
Cooper Lighting Solutions warrants to customers that, for a period of five years from the date of purchase, Cooper Lighting Solutions products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship. The obligation of Cooper Lighting Solutions under this warranty is expressly limited to the provision of replacement products. This warranty is extended only to the original purchaser of the product. A purchaser’s receipt or other proof of date of original purchase acceptable to Cooper Lighting Solutions. This is required before warranty performance shall be rendered. This warranty does not apply to Cooper Lighting Solutions products that have been altered or repaired that have been subjected to neglect, abuse, misuse or accident
(including shipping damages). This warranty does not apply to products not manufactured by Cooper Lighting Solutions which have been supplied, installed, and/or used in conjunction with Cooper Lighting Solutions products. Damage to the product caused by replacement bulbs or corrosion or discoloration of brass components are not covered by this warranty. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY:
IN NO EVENT SHALL COOPER LIGHTING SOLUTIONS BE LIABLE FOR SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (REGARDLESS OF THE FORM OF ACTION, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR IN TORT INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), NOR
FOR LOST PROFITS; NOR SHALL THE LIABILITY OF COPPER LIGHTING SOLUTIONS FOR ANY CLAIMS OR DAMAGE ARISING OUT OF OR CONNECTED WITH THESE TERMS OR THE MANUFACTURE, SALE, DELIVERY, USE, MAINTENANCE, REPAIR OR MODIFICATION OF COPPER LIGHTING SOLUTIONS PRODUCTS, OR SUPPLY OF ANY REPLACEMENT PARTS THEREFORE, EXCEED THE PURCHASE PRICE OF COPPER LIGHTING SOLUTIONS PRODUCTS GIVING RISE TO A CLAIM. NO LABOR CHARGES WILL BE ACCEPTED TO REMOVE OR INSTALL FIXTURES.   • Name, address, and telephone number
  • Date and place of purchase
  • Catalog and quantity purchase
  • A detailed description of the problem
  • All returned products must be accompanied by a Return Goods Authorization Number issued by the Company and must be returned freight prepaid. Any product received without a Return Goods Authorization Number from the Company will be refused. Cooper Lighting Solutions is not responsible for merchandise damaged in transit
  • Repaired or replaced products shall be subject to the terms of this warranty and are inspected when packed. Evident or concealed damage that is made in transit should be reported at once to the carrier making the delivery and a claim filed with them.
