ATTACHMENT
To attach the product, first remove the top part of the ring from the supplied two-piece fastener. Undo the base screws and put the rings on the gun. The back ring should be placed against the stop lug on the gun. The front ring is placed near the front end of the fastener. Tighten the retaining screws just enough so that they are held in place during the final adjustment. Put the telescopic sight in the rings with the screw for drift correction to the left side of the gun, and fit the top part of the back ring.
WARNING!
If the product is placed too far back in the rings the backward movement
during recoil can result in personal injury. The gap from the eye should be
about 7.5 cm.
Tighten the screws just enough so that the product does not drop off. Place the gun against your shoulder and look through the sight. Adjust the sight to a suitable distance from your eye. The gap is right when the image in the sight fills the full eyepiece. Adjust the front ring so that it is placed in the middle of the front part of the tube. Fit the top part of the front ring, but do not tighten the screws. The screws for the bottom fastener can then be tightened. Do not overtighten, this can damage the thread. The final step is to align the cross hairs. This is easiest to do with two small spirit levels. Place the gun firmly on sandbags. Place one spirit level on the back of the box and the other over the cap to adjust the elevation of the sight. Tighten the screws for the top part of the ring, alternately on the right and left side, and check the bubbles. Continue tightening the screws until the product is firmly in place. Do not overtighten, this can damage the threads and the tube.
USE
ADJUSTING THE FIRING
A method with 3 shots is recommended for most marksmen. Use a stable, padded
support, such as a sandbag. Place your hand with the palm up on the support
and rest the forestock in the hand. Fire 3 shots at a target at about a
distance of 10 m and locate the centre point between the 3 hits. This shows
how much and in which direction the sight needs to be adjusted.
Turn the knobs to correct drift and elevation so that the point of impact is
moved to the point of aim. Rest the gun on a stable support such as sandbags,
and aim at the original point of aim. Turn the knobs to correct drift and
elevation so that the cross hairs are in front of the original point of
impact. Fire a new test series of 3 shots and check how close the points of
impact are to the point of aim. Repeat this process until the pattern of hits
is correct.
FOCUSING/MAGNIFICATION/PARALLAX CORRECTION
Look through the telescopic sight and slowly turn the focusing ring until the
cross hairs are in focus. If the magnification of the sight can be adjusted,
turn the ring to set the magnification according to the markings. Note that a
higher magnification gives a smaller field of vision. Do not use a higher
magnification than necessary to achieve the best possible field of vision.
Parallax is the apparent movement of the cross hairs in relation to the target
when the eye is moved from the centre. This occurs when the sight is not
focused and is more noticeable when a higher magnification and short distance
are set. The product is set by default for this situation. If the particular
model has an adjustable focusing ring or focusing ring for the front lens,
turn the front ring to set the distance according to the markings on the ring.
Do not turn the front ring if there are no distance markings.
MAINTENANCE
All the seals and adjustment devices are permanently lubricated. Make sure
that the lens guard and caps for the adjusting knobs are in place when the
product is not in use and when it is not being adjusted. Handle lenses just as
carefully as you would handle a pair of glasses or camera. Clean the lenses
with alcohol and a clean wad of cotton wool when necessary. Handle the product
with care.
Never hold the telescopic sight to carry the gun.
