Setting Up the Instrument

Basic Operation
Switching on/off
- To switch on, press the on/off button. The PIANO button on the front control panel and the LED display light up. This instrument default mode is set to PIANO timbre.
- To switch off, press the on/off switch again. Indicator lights go off on all buttons.
Adjusting volume
- To increase the volume, turn the master volume knob clockwise.
- To reduce the volume, turn the master volume know counter-clockwise.
UP/DOWN button
- To select the upper functions on the front control panel press the UP/DOWN button. The LED display shows FU2. The indicator on the UP/DOWN button lights up.
- To select the lower function on the front control panel press the UP/DOWN button again. The LED display shows FUt The indicator on the UP/DOWN button goes off.

Selecting basic timbres
- Verify that the indicator on the UP/DOWN button is off. If on, press the UP/DOWN button.
- Press one of the corresponding button. The corresponding timbre code appears on the LED display.

Built-in memory
This function allows you to store up to 3 sets of timbre, rhythm and tempo
information.
To save timbre, rhythm and tempo
- Set a preferred rhythm, timbre, and tempo.
- Verify that the indicator on the UP/DOWN button is on. If off, press the UP/DOWN button.
- Press and hold the MEMORY button on the front control panel, then press M1, M2 or M3 to save the setting under selected memory.
To retrieve a memory setting
- Verify that the indicator on the UP/DOWN button is on. If off, press the UP/DOWN button.
- Press M1, M2 or M3 to set a desired memory. The indicator.rfJ of the selected memory M1, M2 or M3 button lights up. /
Functions
Turning on keyboard percussion
- To turn the keyboard percussion on, press and hold the FUNCTION• button, then press the assigned key in the KEYBOARD PERCUSSION key area.
- To turn the keyboard percussion off, press and hold the FUNCTION+ button, then press the assigned key in the KEYBOARD PERCUSSION key area again.
Selecting timbre
- Verify that the indicator on the UP/DOWN button is off. If on, press the UP/DOWN button.
- Press the GM TIMBRE’ button on the front control panel. The indicator on the GM TIMBRE+ button lights up.
- Press and hold the GM TIMBRE’ button.
- Enter 3-digit timbre code in the GM TIMBRE/RHYTHM/DEMO SONG key area or press[-] to select previous timbre code, or[+] to select next timbre code. The corresponding timbre code appears on the LED display.
Setting tempo
- Press and hold the FUNCTION• button.
- Select a tempo code (30-300) in the TEMPO key area or press[-] to decrease tempo, or[+] to increase tempo. The corresponding tempo code appears on the LED display. For example, press 1-4-5 in sequence to set tempo to 145.
- To set a default tempo press and hold FUNCTION• button, then press the TAP key.

Using rhythms
- Verify that the indicator on the UP/DOWN button is on. If off, press the UP/DOWN button.
- Press and hold the RHYTHM• button on the front control panel.
- Enter 3-digit rhythm code in the GM TIMBRE/RHYTHM/DEMO SONG key area or press[-] to select previous rhythm, or[+] to select next rhythm. The corresponding rhythm code appears on the LED display.
Using metronome
To start the metronome
- Verify that the indicator on the UP/DOWN button is off. If on, press the UP/DOWN button.
- Press the METRONOME button on the front control panel. The indicator on the METRONOME button lights up and the 1/4 metronome starts automatically.
- To stop the metronome press the METRONOME button again. The indicator on the METRONOME button goes off.
To select metronome mark
- Verify that the indicator on the UP/DOWN button is off. If on, press the UP/DOWN button.
- Press and hold the FUNCTION’ button.
- Select the desired metronome mark in the METRONOME key area. The corresponding metronome mark appears on the LED display.
To adjust metronome volume
- Press and hold the FUNCTION• button.
- Select volume level from 1 to 5 (1 is lowest and 5 is highest) in the ACCOM & METRONOME VOLUME key area. The corresponding metronome volume level appears on the LED display.
Activating chord timbre
- Press and hold the FUNCTION’ button.
- Press the CHORD TIMBRE key. 0 n appears on the LED display.
- To restore the default chord tone, press and hold the FUNCTION’ button, then press the CHORD TIMBRE key again. OFF appears on the LED display.
