SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Read these instructions carefully before use, and save them for future reference.

  • Check that the mains voltage corresponds to the rated voltage on the type plate.

  • The plug must be plugged into a correctly installed earthed power point.

  • Do not fill the kettle with water when it is on the base. Wipe off any water from the bottom of the kettle before putting it on the base.

  • Never leave the product unattended when switched on.

  • Keep the product under careful supervision when it is used by, or near children or persons with functional disorders.

  • Place the product on a stable and level surface, out of the reach of children, to avoid it tipping over – risk of scalding.

  • Do not put the product on or near a hot stove, in a hot oven, or over other appliances.

  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use the handle. Hot steam can escape from the kettle, especially when refilling. Do not open the lid when boiling up water.

  • Do not use the product for any other purpose than boiling water. Do not fill the kettle above the MAX mark. Do not use the product if the water level is below the MIN mark.

  • Do not allow the power cord to hang over the edge of a table or worktop, or to come in contact with hot surfaces. Surplus length of cord should be stored in the space for this in the base.

  • Do not immerse the power cord, plug, or the product in water or any other liquid – risk of fire, electric shock and/or personal injury.

  • Avoid contact with steam flowing out of the spout while the water is being  boiled or has just started to boil. Do not open the lid.

  • Pour boiling water slowly and carefully – do not tilt the kettle quickly, or too much.

  • Allow the kettle to cool before filling with water.

  • If an extension cord is used the cross-sectional area of the wires must be dimensioned for the power supply to the product.

  • If the power cord or plug are damaged they must be replaced by an authorised service centre to ensure safe use.

  • Pull out the plug when there is no water in the kettle, before refilling, cleaning and moving the product, and when it is not in use.

  • Contact your dealer if you have any problems or questions. Do not dismantle the product or attempt to modify, or repair it.

Do not allow childrenunder 8 to clean or maintain the product. Children over 8 can clean or maintain the product under supervision. Store the product and its power cord out of the reach of children less than 8 years old.

  • The product is intended for household use, or for use in staff rooms, hotel rooms or other similar places.

  • Note that the heater element will still be hot after the product is switched off – risk of burn injury.

  • The product is not intended to be used by persons (children or adults) with any form of functional disorders, or by persons who do not have sufficient experience or
    knowledge on how to use it, unless they have received instructions concerning the use of the product from someone who is responsible for their safety.

  • Keep children under supervision to make sure they do not play with the product.

WARNING!

  • Do not start the product if there is a risk that ice has formed in the water in the kettle.
  • Do not use the product without water, this will damage the heating element.
  • Do not remove the casing from the kettle or the base – risk of fire or electric shock.
  • Do not open the lid when the water boils.
  • Place the lid so that steam does not escape towards the handle.
  • Switch off the product before lifting the kettle off the base.
  • Avoid spilling on the power cord or plug.
  • Incorrect use of the product can result in a risk of serious personal injury and/or scalding.

HOW TO USE

  1. Before using for the first time, or if the kettle has not been used for a long time, clean the kettle by filling it to the MAX mark and with cold tap water, allow it to boil and pour out the water. Repeat at least once.
  2. Press the lock button on the handle to open the lid.
  3. Lift the kettle off the base before filling. Fill the required amount of water in the kettle. The water level should be between the MIN and MAX marks. Replace the lid and put the kettle on the base.
  4. Plug in the plug and start the kettle by pressing the power switch. The status light goes on to show that the boiling is in progress.
  5. The kettle switches off automatically and the status light goes off when the water has boiled.
  6. Lift the kettle off the base and pour out the water.

MAINTENANCE

CLEANING

  1. Descale the kettle by adding 5 dl of vinegar and filling it with water, and leave it to stand for at least 1 hour.
  2. Pour out the mixture. Wipe off any deposits with a damp cloth.
  3. Fill the kettle with fresh water, boil up, and pour out the water. Repeat. The kettle is now ready to use.
  4. Repeat the above procedure several times, if necessary.
  5. Grip the top part of the scale filter and pull up to release. Wash the filter with fresh water and allow it to dry before replacing it in the kettle.

NOTE:

  • Descale the kettle regularly for best functionality and life span.
  • Switch off the kettle, pull out the plug, and allow the product to cool before cleaning.
  • Do not use abrasive detergents or utensils on the kettle or any part of it, this can scratch the surface.
  • Do not immerse the kettle in water or any other liquid. Wipe the outside of the kettle with a cloth moistened with a mild detergent, then dry with a dry cloth.

Must not be discarded with household waste! This product contains electrical or electronic components that should be recycled. Leave the product for recycling at the  designated station e.g. the local authority’s recycling station.
